  5. Is it possible that Sikhs around the world stop their internal feuds and unite for a virtual Khalistan - to start with without a land? a). Sikhs from UK/Canada/USA/Europe(Italy/Germany/France etc. etc.)/Australia/Middle-East/India/Newzealand/Singapore etc. etc. all unite together to create a virtual Khalistan and a virtual Khalistani Parliament. b). Virtual Khalistan to have a constitution. c). The MPs of this Khalistan to represent their individual constituencies/group of Gurudwara Sangat. d). The Khalistan Parliament MPs to be free of any corruption and criminal charges and not like Indian MPs where most of MPs/MLAs are criminals. e). Virtual Khalistan to have representative offices in all countries, draft future agenda's for International Sikhs, all International Sikh issues to be discussed and if possible raised to the highest authority Akal Takht Sahib. f). Virtual Khalistan to place petition in United Nations for freeing Khalistan Land - acquired by force. CAN WE PLEASE UNITE ACROSS THE GLOBE, ELSE WE WON'T GET JUSTICE!!!

  9. I think people are reading the posts in tones that arent intended by the poster. I didnt mean to come across as racist or so strongly. My point is simple: emigration from Punjab out of South Asia is a recent concept. The British started it off with their draconian actions when they turned Punjab into a police state. When America won the Second World War their attitudes to immigration were adopted by others. No more Komagata Marus etc. But now things arent so rosy in the UK compared to other places. So why come here? Most of the immigrants in the 60s were victims of Partition. They didnt want to stay in India. They also knew where they were going. They didnt end up in slave labour camps in Dubai. They didnt get locked up in basements of abandoned buildings by Russian mobsters and get tortured or killed. They didnt get left to float in boats around the Atlantic or smash their boats on the rocks and reefs of Western Australia. They didnt wander the Islamic <Edited> heartlands of Africa. All of which our lot are doing. Is it racist to point out they were better off staying at home and making a go of East Punjab? Have WLS and Acsap watched the videos? I dont think I'm better than the immigrants. If anything I'm telling them the truth. London is not the greatest city on Earth. It wouldnt even make my top five. Ask Sikhs about the last 5 years in the UK. Some English people look like their medieval ancestors now the Government arent dishing out benefits like its going out of fashion. Even the smart pakistanis are going to places like Norway for the benefits and kiddies as they cant support their massive families without UK benefits. I get this is a very upsetting and highly unsettling issue for you WLS when compared to the Sikh victims of Partition or Sikh girls being groomed by su//eh. Seeing as you live in Southall, could you tell us what you do to help them and what we can do to support you or help the situation? Please, take your time, we are all ears.

  10. Not sure if its the right way to come into Sikhi if its because of a girl he is in love with? We don't refrain from degrading our own Sikh boys/girls when they convert to other faiths due to romantic relationships, so lets not bend the rules when the tables have turned.

I think anyone claiming to be a "Sikh" of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Maharaj that commits actions in contradiction or that goes against the teachings of Maharaj should be held to account regardless of their skin colour. A large number of actions carried out by certain members of the 3HO group are questionable and those people should be held to account... Equally in the same breath this brothers actions on a number of different occasions including this latest baysharamie needs to be held to account!

Try to have a right balance in life and in sikhi, don't make sikhi into dogma to the point- where you have to decide whether to take food from our own father and mother, if you are concerned about food from your father being unholy- do recite gurbani with full faith, full devotion and prem that should purify the food (if you don't think that will purify, thats our own shortcoming in sikhi-lack of own one's sharda and prem in gurbani) so take Sahara of Gurbani.. instead of hurting them emotionally, you may want to contact senior gurmukhs and mahapursh as well but all in all- when it comes to our father and mother do remember there is nothing unholy about them feeding you, if we think they are unholy when engaging with their own kids despite of them engaging in unholy activity such as drinking then we all need to go back when we are made biologically- how much holy and unholy was that thought which concepted us? how much holy and unholy was that sperm (biraj) and rakth(blood egg) which made us ? how much holy and unholy was the act itself which made us? how much holy and unholy was it when we are connected with our mother in our mother womb through ambical cord?.

  21. If that is the attitude of the judges of the so-called Supreme Court in India then this should be final proof to any Sikhs than thought we can still get justice in India. What a bunch of Morons these judges are, what does that fact that the organisation is based abroad have to do with the merit of the case. The Haram.zada judges also want to know what Sikhs for Justice were involved in 'terrorism' in the 1980s.

Yes at a time when there is focus in the West on human rights issues in India and the arrest for torture of the Nepalese army officer in the UK, Sikhs should be approaching the media to raise the issue of the Sikh genocide if they get the chance to comment on these stories. Plenty of Indians in the Uk have been appearing on news programmes, have Sikhs commented on the rape cases they have faced?

  23. Bhenji this is a totally different scenario altogether, in my opinion. The mata ji and rest of the family were ALREADY Sikhs to begin with, or atleast born in Sikh families, so they were ALREADY "in it" if you will. In romantic situations one has to adopt a different religion and disown one's previous faith (into which one was born), and all for someone of the opposite gender. The example you gave is in fact a blessing. I am not saying that one shouldn't come into Sikhi. You're right, how can we know what are Guru Sahib's plans. Maybe people are meant to come into Sikhi through romantic channels. But then same way may be some people are destined to leave Sikhi through these same channels, and that is also under His will then, right jee? My only concern is what is the basis of such a change? How strong is the foundation? Lets say some Jewish guy fell in love with a Buddhist girl and ended up converting to Buddhism just to marry her. Few years later into marriage, Vaheguru forbid she passes away in an accident, then what? Will he continue to be a Buddhist or go back to Judaism all over again? That will be the question he should be prepared to answer, and that is the litmus test he will have to pass as this is what shows his commitment even in the face of the most dire circumstances. And bhenji this is Sikhi we're talking about, the Khalsa Panth of Dasam Pita, the brotherhood you join by signing your own death warrant and then submitting it with your own hands at SatGuru Patshah jee's charan kamal. No one should come into it OR leave it due to immature romantic decisions. Just my opinion jeeo bhul chukk maaf karni

Its just a shame you had to add the negative bits about nikki haley and demonizing / villifying non amritdharis to something positive. FYI - There is nothing to patch up between amritdharis and non-amritdhari or monay and keshdharis. This kind of chat just causes problems when there actually are non in the first place!

Yeah, I thought I should be expanding a bit on this...but then I thought it would be an insult to you in case you already did know! :bl: Well, I'm assuming that you're aware of the basic sa re ga ma pa dha ni keys on the Harmonium. Those keys on the middle of the Harmonium are Madh Saptak. Madh : middle Sapt : 7 (oooh! your lucky number ) Saptak: containing 7. It's technically an octave....but in Indian classical music the last Sa belongs to the next saptak. Also, the literal translation of an octave would be 'ashtak'. So, doesn't make much sense there. An image about saptak on Harmonium. Mandr : lower (dunno if that's the literal meaning) Taar : higher ( " ) The above picture shows the saptaks very well but a horrible depiction od komal and Ma teevar sur. Usually the Mandr saptak keys are denoted with a dot beneath them and the Taar saptak keys with the dot above them. But then again, it's in English. Compare the image below to the one above to see the way octaves can be moved around according to the Sa you choose. The followinf images are a Punjabi notation, from the website of Jawaddi Taksaal and shows a bit how keys are normally written. Simple explanation for Ma teevar sur: When all the shudh(pure/normal) keys and Komal keys are marked, there is only one left, right next to Shudh Ma. That is a Teevar Ma. Now, one might ask why this is Teevar and the other Komal. In this case, Teevar : slightly higher Komal : slightly lower (komal = soft) This video explains a bit about the sargam and how Sa can be changed accoording to the scale you want to sing on. If you listen carefully, Bhai Saheb have sung many different versions of the chorus! Amazing!!! Also, Kaagardang Kaati Kataari Karaakang is along the keys of Gaagarhdang gaji mahaa Gaj Gaaje. I hope the notation helps a bit. But I repeat, this is only a basic and very much simpler version of how it's been sung. It's almost hard to match the way Bhai Saheb have sung.

  30. You can learn pyar, bairaag and sharda from akj kirtan. Learning akj kirtan because it sounds cool shouldn't be our driving force to learn kirtan ...I know thats not what you meant in your original post but i am just making general cautionary observation. The point of listening to Kirtan or doing kirtan is to invoke devotion, pyaar, bariaag which ultimately lets you connect with divine regardless of what type of kirtan it is now with that being said on the other side of token- every effort should be made to listen/sing/preserve kirtan in raagas as thats what it originally gurbani is written in raag measures.

  31. Bhaji, Don't be sad about what Singh1234567 bhaji said. Keertan in raag is indeed the best way to do keertan but if the way akj does keertan appeals to you and connects you more...then do it so. What's important here is that you feel and connect to Guru Saheb with your sharda and love!

His parents generation in Punjab much like my grandfather's generation got on with it, whether it was in Punjab or England. There were no unions for Sikhs in Punjab back then and not all of them understood employees rights in the UK either. My grandad told me about someone from his village who went to the Midlands to work in a factory. The supervisor asked him if he wanted to do overtime. He said sure. 40 hours later he was still there. Hadnt gone home, hadnt stopped, just kept going. I doubt someone from my generation would do something like that. Also, to accuse our grandparents of illegal immigration is wrong. Plenty got here legally and had to avoid things like national service because they were so legal. As for your little speech about England, it has changed massively. Only a fool would think that Canada, a land with massive living space and educated population could compare to the bleak overcrowded isle packed with unemployed uneducated goreh and musis that is Britain. How can UK Sikhs feel pity for people who come here with the main ambition of getting enough money to build a big house back in EP with an Indian Airforce MIG model on the roof? Are they high on Disney movies? They dont want the money to build hospitals in EP. They dont want to build better schools in EP. They dont want to improve EP at all. Yet they still come expecting milk and honey even when every objective indicator says the opposite. It's like a toddler going up to Jimmy Saville expecting a lollypop and getting something else. So many UK Sikhs want out of the UK but EPs keep coming here expecting us to wipe their backsides. I know people with engineering degrees who can only get jobs in Sainsburys here but are offered crazy money to go abroad. And they go abroad - who can blame them? Over 50% of muslim men in the UK are unemployed. There are white homes where 3 generations have never held a job. Who wants to pay taxes to support them? Sikhs are net contributors to HM Treasury and give per capita more than anyone else apart from the Jews. But that wont last as so many Sikhs are leaving. The immigrants who came here in the 60s are leaving when their educated children establish themselves abroad. What hopes do these EPs have? The races you mention have turned their areas into nothing more than ghettos. Overusing council services has created a strain that wont last. Are you happy to see you local school go down the drain because they dont have the resources to teach all the children from English chav mothers looking for benefits, Somalis, Poles, Paks etc etc.? EPs come here all doe eyed and expect it to be the 1960s. I'll happily help a Sikh immigrant out. I'll tell him he's screwed up and should have stayed in India and got an education if he wanted to emigrate. I wont support the enslavement of Sikh immigrants into the inequal structure of British society like many Poles and Somalis are finding themselves in. To summarise, Britain needed labour in the 1960s. Jobs came easily. Houses were cheap. Uncles worked their asses off and bought rows of houses. They are selling them now and moving to nicer areas or leaving the UK. Recent immigrants dont have that luxury.

I funded myself through uni by working in warehouses - for Panjabis who aren't exactly 'on point' when it comes to workers rights (but I still had fun and appreciate how those days taught me so much). I'm well educated, but I still do stints on building sites (because I'm a man like that). We know your father/grandfather (??) sucked up to some British ex-military type to get work in some factory or would have ended up scrubbing toilets in Heathrow or minicab driving like other unskilled hogis. I've worked with the older generation on sites and witnessed the trade myself growing up as the majority of work for Sikhs in East London was construction in the 70s/80s. Your family had to leave this area because they didn't have the skills to stick around and moved to West London (your own admissions). Plus I've worked with todays freshies in Sikh firms. To make out that old schoolers had it easy just highlights you how ignorant you are. They worked 7 days a week, including evenings. On sites in the day and private work at night. That's how they got set up here. Again if you think that is easy, it says a lot about you. And despite all of your rantings about the established generation here, I see relatively recently arrived faujis who've established themselves in a few years (lucky them) turn around and abuse the hell out of a next fauji they hire ALL THE TIME. They are ALL jat, so maybe they are just doing what they are culturally accustomed to doing to 'village menials' amongst themselves now? The big thing people like to ignore here is how our own people are too damn ignorant to learn a trade over there, BEFORE they 'bootha chuck' and smuggle their unskilled selves here. They ALL know they will probably be doing construction work here but are to damn lazy, ignorant, jumped up to learn a trade before they jump on the boat or the back of a lorry. Explain that stupidity!

  34. Right on. This topic was needed. People look to these middle-men to digest gurbani for them, but then it becomes hard for followers to differentiate gurbani from the opinion of the middle-man. There should be no middle-men between you and your guru.
