  2. Khalsa ji This shabad is very dear to sikhs. It is at end of chandi charitra ukti bilas. This shabad is mainly quoted by kala afghansits and now missionaries to say that this says that Guru sahib was devotee of Siva. They have misled many sikhs by quoting this out of context None of them have read Dasam Granth leave aside understanding it. They have built in hate for this bani as they are basically against concept of khalsa. When you read this composition , Guru sahib writes Thou art the same Chandika, who ferries across the people; Thou art the redeemer of the earth and destroyer of the demons. Thou art the cause of the Shakti of Shiva, Lakshmi of Vishnu and Parvati, the daughter of Himavan, wherever we see, Thou art there. Chandi Charitra The above is addressed to akal purakh and says that you are everything and has created such entities Pay attention to This means that it is you who has created parvati aka durga. This bani is very deep and requires one to read each and every line with meanings to understand. I countered the heretics on their facebook dasam granth ik saazish. They had no reply to this. They are just repeating hearsays.

  3. Thanks for this bhaaji. When a knowledgeable person like you confronts these heretics they have no answer to their ignorance filled propaganda. The funniest part is when we have anparh men like Jeowala make statements which have no credible proof, when they are confronted and proven to be false instead of admitting they are wrong they keep quiet but find the next person to influence their heretic propaganda. The whole Kala Afghanist movement is led by anparh men who are Dasvi Paas at best. God knows who made them professors.

  6. I found out about this link http://www.mrsikhnet.com/2008/10/16/sodarshan-chakra-kriya-meditation/ also the punjabi translation of this shabad by Prof. Sahib Singh Ji can be found here http://www.gurugranthdarpan.com/darpan2/1106.html it is extremely hard to understand the meaning of his shabad according to Gurmat. From my knowledge I know that Gurmat does not support YOG SADHNA and this shabad by Bhagat Jaidev ji is being taken as supporting some sodarshan chakra kriya of meditation by our SIKHNET brothers. (I could be wrong). anyone wants to shed more light on it? The breath is drawn in through the left nostril; it is held in the central channel of the Sushmanaa and exhaled through the right nostril repeating the Lord's Name sixteen times. I am powerless; my power has been broken. 7. Raj Kaur Birk: UK's Metropolitan Police Special Constable. A busy working mother of four is probably the last person you would expect to volunteer her time to patrol the streets of London as a special constable. However, for Raj Birk it has proved to be the most rewarding thing she has ever done. ”I really look forward to it,” she says. “I actually cannot wait to get out there. I love meeting people and I love the response I get. I am a Sikh Women and we thrive on serving our community, so for me this is all part of giving something back and helping other people.” Wearing her turban and an almost permanent smile, Raj has become a well-known face in Redbridge, where she is part of the community. ”I speak four languages, which means I can help people who find it hard to communicate and it automatically reassures them,” says Raj. ”If I start speaking in Punjabi, for example, I can see them relax immediately. They find it really reassuring.” More About Raj Birk – Metropolitan Police Special Constable, London Raj, who has been working for the Met for the past 17 years and is currently an intelligence researcher, is allowed to use 16 hours during her working month to volunteer as a Special but says the hours are something that anyone can fit round work, families, friends and holidays . even if, like her, they have four children. ”The only thing I regret is that I didn’t do it sooner,” adds Raj. ”I volunteered because I wanted to give something back, but I have also gained so much too. Being a Special is teaching me a lot of valuable life skills, it is making me more confident and it teaches you to think outside the box. Working nine-to- five or eight-to-four becomes a routine, but when I am a Special every day is different.” Being a Metropolitan Special Constable gives volunteers the same powers and uniform as a regular police officer. All that is required is giving up at least 16 hours of their spare time a month to do something positive for themselves and the community. Special constables are involved in all aspects of policing London, which means they can be called on to help safeguard public safety and security at local or major events, to serve warrants and also to assist in the event of accidents, fights and fires. 8. Any places which serve alcohol and meat are a complete no go for Gursikhs! Also we should only socialise with Gursikhs- have a good working relationship but nothing more than that. Tell me, what time does a gursikh have for socialising? We do our kamayee so we can live and because it is hukam from Guru Sahib, other than that spend your time with Gursikhs and do your own kamayee. Just smile and say that you don't really like environments where there is alcohol and meat. Gur Maerai Sang Sadhaa Hai Naalae || My Guru is always with me, near at hand. Simar Simar This Sadhaa Samhaalae ||1|| Rehaao || Meditating, meditating in remembrance on Him, I cherish Him forever. ||1||Pause|| So spend your time with Guru Sahib instead! Vich Sachae Koorr N Gaddee Man Vaekhahu Ko Nirajaas || Falsehood does not mix with the Truth; O people, check it out and see. Koorriaar Koorriaaree Jaae Ralae Sachiaar Sikh Baithae Sathigur Paas ||26|| The false go and mingle with the false, while the truthful Sikhs sit by the side of the True Guru. ||26||

  9. If there is one superstition more strongly reprobated than another in the Sikh sacred writings, it is pilgrimages to the places deemed sacred by the Hindus. Some of the Sikh States, in ignorance of the teachings of the Gurus, have maintained temples and spiritual arenas at Hardwar and Rikhikesh for the reception of pilgrims. At Hardwar there are held great religious fairs every twelve years at the time when the sun enters the lunar mansion of Aquarius (Kumbh). It is calculated that at least one hundred thousand Sikhs were present at the last great fair at Hardwar. All these pilgrims bathe in the Ganges; while bathing many recklessly yield to the necessities of nature ; others drink their excreta with the Ganges water as sacred nourishment, and die of cholera either at the fair or on their homeward journey. The corpses of Sikhs, as well as Hindus, were pulled out of railway carriages after the last twelfth-year fair and poisoned the country. The pest then extended east and west in all directions. Kabul, of course, on the western boundary of India, was soon affected, and the further progress of the disease towards Europe was thus described by the Paris correspondent of the Morning Post :- Professor Chantemesse, Director-General of the Public Health Department, made a somewhat disquieting statement at today's meeting of the Academy of Medicine. He pointed out that the cholera epidemic, which originated in India and spread east and west, had established itself last autumn in four European centres, namely Transcaspia, Transcaucasia, Anatolia, and the banks of the Volga between Astrakhan, Saratoff, and Samara. As the winter cold had merely checked the disease, instead of stamping it out, there was every reason to fear it would continue its progress westward, by way of the Baltic ports, the Black Sea, the Danube, or Constantinople. 'According to another account, seven thousand deaths from cholera occurred in the Punjab since the second week of April. The disease was originally disseminated by the returning pilgrims from Hardwar.' Of course there were also many Hindu pilgrims at the Hardwar fair, but let any one consider what a gain it would be to the world if the one hundred thousand Sikhs l who attended it possessed such a very elementary knowledge of their religion as to know that their action was reprobated by all their holy Gurus. - MAX ARTHUR MCAULIFFE

  10. No doubt some racist cop is monitoring this forum. But we need to play the game. Anyone who feels that he has been harassed or unfairly treated by the police needs to make an OFFICIAL complaint. Just as they are scared to take action against the Muslims because their organisations will start to shout Islamophobia and racism, we need to also show the Police that we also know how to play the game, If you go the non-cooperation way then go all the way. Every Gurdwara should also stop inviting the local MP Keith Vaz to their functions. He has been constantly harping on that there is no racism involved in the way the groomers choose their victims. He has been mudding the waters for years.

  12. Singh559 ji It is siva. Siva's literal meaning is Durga but here it is used as metaphor for Akal purakh. Guru sahib writes in beginning of Chandi charitra highlighting his belief in akal purakh by writing The Lord is Primal, Infinite, Account less, Boundless, Deathless, Garbless, Incomprehensible and Eternal. He created Shiva-Shakti, forur Vedas and three modes of maya and Pervades in three worlds. He created day and night, the lamps of sun and moon and the whole world with five elements. He extended enmity and fight between the gods and demons and Himself seated (on His Throne) scans it.1. 14. No one is denying the role of individual Hindus in the atrocities of the 18th century. Some Hindus like Lakhpat Rai persecuted the Sikhs because they wanted personal revenge as well as in order to retain their position in the Muslim government. For Muslims it was a different matter. Just the proclamation of Jihad was enough to get thousands into the countryside to commit atrocities against the Sikhs, Trying to portray Muslims as the victims of 1947 shows just where your sympathies lie. Let me educate you on the Islamic mentality and a short history lesson. Muslims were the first aggressors and used violence as a political tool to achieve Pakistan. They attacked, murdered, raped, burnt and forcibly converted thousands of Sikhs and Hindus in the Rawalpindi area in March 1947. Their aim was to use the violence to silence the Sikh opposition to Pakistan. They waited for a backlash in East Punjab as they were well aware that Sikhs would not take the violence lying down. When no backlash came they were elated because they thought that years of economic success had made the Sikhs soft. They thought their aim to make the Sikh accept Pakistan would now be mush easier. This was the reason that they never seriously tried to make overtures to the Sikh leadership. Neither Jinnah not any other of the Muslim leaders expressed any express for what happened in the massacres. Prior to the Rawalpindi massacres, there had only ever been riots in the urban area in which mostly the same amount of Muslims, Hindus and Sikhs would be killed. The Rawalpindi massacres were the first attempt to wipe out the non-Muslims from the area that was slated to become Pakistan. The Sikhs were the ones that were particularly targeted because the Muslims believed that if they could use violence to close down the Sikh opposition then the Hindus would automatically accept Pakistan and the whole of Punjab would become a part of Pakistan. The Sikhs in the Rawalpindi area were caught unawares, from living a peaceful life, they were suddenly attacked and their lives and livelihoods wiped out. Whole villages were destroyed. At least when the Muslims were attacked in East Punjab after partition, they were aware that attacks were taking place and could prepare to defend themselves. But the Sikhs in March 1947 didn't have that luxury. When it comes to the fatalities suffered by the different communities it is generally assumed that the Muslims suffered the most. This is just an assumption and not scientific research has been done to back this up. UK Singh has shown that in as a percentage the Sikhs lost the most lives. If Sikhs suffered less deaths it was not because of some let up in the Anti-Sikh violence, it was because they Sikh leadership being aware that Pakistan would involve an exchange of populations and thus were able to make ready of that eventuality. Sikhs refugees were evacuated in an orderly way and their refugee caravans were the most organised. They had outriders to check out the route, armed guards for defence and ample supply of food. This was not the case with the Muslim refugee caravans. Even with this level of orderly evacuation, the Sikhs still suffered over 200,000 deaths which for a small community of 5 million was a disaster. Half of the Sikhs had become refugees and had to be settled on less land than they had left behind in West Punjab. The Muslims were the winners in the partition. From being tenants of the Sikhs they suddenly became the owners of the Sikh lands. From being small time businessmen they suddenly had their pick of all the large Hindu businesses in West Punjab.

  18. You dont say. Circumcision is the removal of the foreskin. When the foreskin is removed it is an unnatural and harmful act. This results in the pen1s becoming desensitised. This results in a less sensitive manhood . Consequently one then experiences less sexual pleasure. Hence it also results in sexual repression and masturbating less frequently. Sexual repression then results in aggression due to high testosterone being built up as a consequence. Leading to great amount of increased anger, aggression and feeling one is right and others are wrong. This can come out in any form. Be it in a sporting one or in a religious one. Where you feel your point of view or religion is wright and others are wrong. Circumcision was originally practiced as a method to deter masturbation. The two great drives in life? One is the sexual drive and the other is the hunger drive. All our behaviour is related to these to drives. This is all mentioned in Sigmund Freud’s theory on this.

  19. Yeah obviously its muslims who carried out the attack but often evidence in these cases shows the chain of command often points towards govt terrorist operatives within MI6 or MI5 (ie their handlers who fund the mullahs and train jihadi's). And yeah I agree Sikhs must be vigilant but not alarmed end of the day any attack on Sikhs would only back fire on those who want to attack Islam and muslims because then some Sikhs (ie the turban campaign idiots) would sort of side with the muslims. Yup i say the more negative press islam gets the better i have no love for Islam and other totalitarian intolerant ideologies...BUT innocent muslims who are respectful and peaceful to non-muslims shouldn't be blamed for the murder of a british soldier who after all is killing their brothers and sisters in "muslim" nations for economic reasons by western armed combatants.

We look at the benefits of learning to read, pronounce and understand the Gurmukhi script (paintee) instead of just using translations and transliterations (romanised). This is all part of Stage 3 in our Five Stage Plan of systematic parchar of Sikhi. In the next videos we will be looking at how words are made in Gurmukhi and how to write and pronounce each letter and vowel. More @http://www.everythings13.org/our-5-po...
