  1. Agree with the rule. One can do Kirtan on their but in pangat roop, one has to follow sikh code.

  2. Veer Jee, If you do not mind, can I suggest you something? have you ever given a chance to Naam Simran? Just think a little bit, if all the Banis, are so soothing and bliss giving, which are just limited expressions of Wahiguru Akal Purukh, what would we not get, if we meditate on Him, so that He comes and resides in us, thus we too shall have all the qualities He has, like: gyan, bliss, fearlesness.... just to name a few virtues of His Beant wadeeayee..... Having Him with us at all times, what else will we need, or be short of ? Reciting His Bani, is like reciting some of His countless virtues, but doing His Simran, is actually having Him with us. And do not think this will be achieved in two days or a week; as doing this bhakti constantly, it is nothing, but an expression of submiiting ourselves to His bhaana, and at the same time, it is telling Him, Wahiguru I love you, I am yours, and You alone are mine. Waghiguru does not want many many words, He wants our love in means of action, of dedication, which is Naam Simran. That is it, as simple as that much. Just give a thought to it, one has nothing to loose. The Bani says: Sarab rog ka aukhad Naam. Waheguru.

  3. im from the inner city and these were 2 of the things bringing me closer to sikhi i cut my hair, drink, eat meat and all that sikh unit and lion heartz talked about real issues and stuff you can relate to and understand from that i discovered tigerstyle and immortal productions, decided to research into the history of sikhism and learned more myself my parents arent that religious but i was brought up going to gurdwara on a sunday once in a while and thats about it, and i slowly drifted away from as i got older, after the age of 14 or 15 i went twice a year maybe at most and that was a 2 minute in and out thing this is changing now as i get more and more into sikhi my school was mostly full of muslims and most of the sikhs got terrorised every day, even at age 14 15, how do you learn to deal with stuff like that when your parents are "papus", all the muslims know exactly what they are doing, they get trained hard at home while our kids are busy at punjabi school learning the alphabet same with the young girls, what are they taught by there parents about the environment that they are walkin into apart from "dont talk to any boys" and tell us if anyone is bothering you so we can run to the teachers and complain, can you blaim them for getting involved with muslims who know exactly what they are doing i only just found this website when looking into what happend in leicster and Hammertime007 seems to the be only one talkin sense in the other post who is here for this next generation of kids, the same <banned word filter activated> is going to happen to them, there not any more prepared for it, sikh unit and lion heartz were good at raising awareness and getting through to people like myself and many others the bros will always be doing what they are doing, there going nowhere, too many singhs thinking because they met 1 musllim in uni who is nice and friendly that they are all like that, if youve never gone through what some of us have, you will never understand

  6. Arya Samaj became very active after the British took over the Punjab and spread a lot of anti Sikh sentiment. Giani Ditt Singh countered their propaganda and challenged the Mahants who had turned Gurdwaras into virtual Mandirs. Look up Giani Ditt Singhs publications where he took the Hindu fundamentalists apart. The Sikh revival began with the Singh Sabha movement.

  8. Remember how effective their lobbying was in January? They got completely ignored by the govt. So how come, with 30 years experience they don't have a relationship established with the civil service? Allowing for access to politicians. The January disclosures and our leadership response was sooo telling. They are worse than incompetent. Mistakes are par for the course and can/will be forgiven. But these "leaders" are clueless.

  9. I cannot believe that most of our Sikh organizations in India have said nothing about this. The DDT , Nihangs , Sants should be at the forefront of getting this killer removed.

  11. I think these love marriages are over rated. 50% of them end up in divorce anyway. All this bollywood luv shuv stuff finishes eventually once reality kicks in, then you have a nagging wife, dealing with her family, she having to deal with her own dreaded mother in law. Then you fall out of love. Ghar ki Geehan Changi, jan Dhanna Levai Mangi Meri Gall mann, find a decent homely Sikh girl to marry in a traditional arranged marriage who will be a good wife and mother to your children and you also be a loving husband to her. Make Sikhi the center stage of your married life, find happiness in Sikhi rather than this fake Bollywood lifestyle. You are lucky you be born a Sikh. Utilize this life for Bhagti and Seva of Guru Panth

  12. I've never taken clowns seriously, especially when they have multiple fake log-on i.d.'s. Perhaps, after the summer break, the nursery staff might find something more constructive for them to do.... Waheguru....

  13. Mohkam Singh, This Balbir character is a dubious one and he has been seen on many forum with an agenda for few years now. 1 thing for sure is he doesnt believe in Naam Simran. Dont waste time with him...he is mischievous and cunning and knows how to be politically right at the same time.

  14. A great Shaheed of the Panth. He challenged the Punjab police at a time when people were literally terrified of the Punjab police. But not Sardar Jaswant Singh Khalra. He was a lone lion who challenged the pack of hyenas(Punjab police) and ultimately gained Shaheedi going through the worst torture imaginable before dying. Parnaam Shaheedaan nu

  15. Bhagat Ravidas Ji didn't look anything like shown in pictures either. Maybe he did wear a dastar, maybe not. Important thing is to follow their teachings as in Guru Granth Sahib Ji. No point creating controversy where there isn't any.
