  1. I think Jagraj Singh really enjoys these debates even though it can be very difficult for him to get a word in edgewise. I do not know why everything with Muslims is about proving and disproving, it's like being in a law court providing evidence. God is beyond this type of thinking and can completely understand when Jagraj Singh says that from a Sikh's point of view the muslim thought process on this matter is very limiting.

  2. It's more complex than that. Being born into particular types of families means that certain mindsets/habits can become strongly entrenched before you even know the game being played. Subtle but strong pressure from work environment too - a lot of people fall for this one, male and female. The amount of asian girls I see out and about with a bunch of (obviously leering) office goray (who seem to have prestigious jobs) is not small. Last year I was passing through the city and saw one girl like this, she was with a bunch of honkys that were going to a restaurant around Shoreditch (a trendy area), I was just reading and minding my own business, (they were a bit loud, they had an American with them - and you know what they are like!), anyway she said (in an exasperated fashion that I'm pretty sure was subtly directed to me): "Ahhhh, here we go, I bet you I'm going to be the only Indian there - again!" Whiteys were grinning..... Point is, that there are a lot of pressures on people to mix with tossers. I'm not excusing it, but failing to recognise this truth is straight retarded. I saw a lot of people (male and female) at uni who would start the year all shareef and ish, and be wild drinking/drugging/clubbing mofos by the end of their first year. People often don't even recognise the destructive side of their company until it is too late. Could happen to anyone. That's not excusing anything though. If we had a half decent society ourselves, it would work wonders to combat this sh1t.

  4. DAY 1 I started MOOL MANTAR JAAP after work in the evening.Initially I was not able to concentrate and all kinds of thoughts started coming to my mind.but then I was firm about one thing that I have to complete 1hour no matter what.so I just kept on doing Jaap.while doing Jaap I realised all the shortcomings I have , I realised the cause of our sufferings is not outside it s inside. We always run after others but we are supposed to bring changes in ourself.I saw Guru Nanak Dev Ji walking away.I felt like I have been so much soiled with worldly things that has created distance between me and Waheguru.and so I need lot more meditation simran and Jaap to make myself worth Waheguru's love.I cannot change the past but I can manage my future.Utmost important is Waheguru's love.despite of all these thoughts coming to my mind I completed one hour.and the end result was a very good sleep after so many days.my next session of one hour Jaap will begin in some minutes.real test will be on the weekend when I ll be so exhausted physically and frustated mentally but I have to do this.I am realising I am already late on this path.one thing more when I was a kid I used to had different kind of love and affection for Waheguru like a kid loves her parents but now I dont get those feelings, I want to feel that bonding again.. thanks everyone for participating.stay by myside and keep motivating me.

  6. What a muppet. Secular non-khalistanis fight in the gurdwara and this India loving simpleton called hrman comes along and tries to pin it on 'khalistanis' Anyway, some serious fighting going on those videos. I'm pretty shocked by the intensity of these Amrika wale Singhs and Kaurs. We never see fights of that calibre in UK Gurdwaras. Some serious lessons to learn here but the one that sticks out most of all is how, once again, it has been shown just how blunt the kirpans are and how they thus defeat their very object. The object, as prescribed by our 10th master, is to be able to defend the weak. But, once again, we can see how the average kirpan is actually way more blunt and able to cause slightly less damage than a childrens' plastic toy sword available for 99 pennies at the 99p store. There's one man swinging it wildly onto people's bodies, esecially one lady's hand, and at the end of it the lady ends up with a very very slight scratch on the hand. I mean a scratch so small she'll have to tell you its an injury before you know it is one. There's a real pattern developing here. First we had that mad free for all sword fight at the Golden Temple a few years ago that made international news. At the end of that sword fight, where all the Singhs were swinging open talwars at each other, just one person got slightly injured and that was a slight bruise rather than a cut the swords were so blunt. And then you had the Siinghs and Kaurs that tried to finish off general Brar on his visit to Central London a few years ago, They got him....they cornered him....they got him down and then they tried to cut his throat with their kirpans. The kirpans however, we so blunt that Brar ended up with nothing more than a slight shaving injury on his chin.

  7. here is the excerpt from nidars 2016 letter lets not divert from the real issue http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-india-29593336 http://www.newindianexpress.com/nation/RSS-Indias-No.1-Terror-Group-Former-Mumbai-Police-Officer/2015/11/26/article3148195.ece RSS are a radical right-wing hindu nationalist organisation, Nidar has all these years called the Sikhs extremists, radicals, purists yet he has joined the most radical extremist organisation out there, implicated in scores of terrorist attacks on christians, muslims and sikh minorities in india. How will nidars christian and muslim students feel about his RSS LINKS ! how many times have we told his student that he is RSS, and they have defended him - how can they defend him now even when he dropped the Hindu from his Hindu-Sikh Shastarvidiya title - it was due to his students not being able to justify it to others. the cat is out of the bag - he has succeeded in turning you guys (his students) against his own people - you bunch of dumb muppets your people are languishing in jails and countless mothers have lost their sons to policies inspired by their ideology and you still come here to defend him. he is a joke - and anyone that sticks with him now will be a joke do yourselves a favour - scrape together any last ounce of dignity you may have left and make peace with your fellow sikhs and do some seva, rebuild lost links to sikhi, to make up for the damage that has been done by this RSS infiltrating scumbag. and if that isn't enough just go ask his wife and kids how they feel about him. to those that have realised nidar was dodgy all along, it is never to late to mend old friendships, and we are here to help not judge so please do get in touch if you want to talk about it there is no shame to admit a mistake and make amends through seva and helping others not to make the same mistake. we have always conducted ourselves in a peaceful manner and only sought to highlight and educate others with reason and evidence.

  9. The gurudwara i go to has no committtee. Basically the guy, hes a doctor, who bought the land and built the building with his own funds, owns it. This is great cause no committees, no power struggles, and fast decisions. And everyone else acts like a sevadaar and gurudwara is really successful. Now its getting a bit difficult tho, because only this 1 family has all the power yet he seems to fear that some of the constant sevadaars might be getting to influential. So hes playing power games and sidelining some sevadaars that have run the school for years and replacing them. But still its good that there are no fights. Its a bit dictatorial but it works. I think places where there is a lot of corruption and violence and ppl getting too worked up,and ppl not respecting law, there dictatorships work the best. Like panjab, middle east, and our gurudware.

  10. Personally im glad the swords are blunt. If they are just going to be used for decorations or against sikhs, they should be blunt. I would not want murder cases happening every six months in our community because every six months or so theres a gurudwara fight. Those are shameful enough. Also it might create permanent divisions if there was a murder at a gurudwara fight n the old punjabi blood for blood and family enemities might come to the west. Its strange how some things like swords becoming blunt and larivaar saroops being replaced have happened when wronguse and beadbi became common. I wonder if the former caused the latter or its just a lucky correlation.

  12. Something about will power for you. The last line is the most important. At its essence, willpower is the ability to resist short-term temptations in order to meet long-term goals. And there are good reasons to do so. University of Pennsylvania psychologists Angela Duckworth, PhD, and Martin Seligman, PhD, explored self-control in eighth-graders over the course of the school year. The researchers first gauged the students’ self-discipline (their term for self-control) by having teachers, parents and the students themselves complete questionnaires. They also gave students a task in which they had the option of receiving $1 immediately or waiting a week to receive $2. They found students who ranked high on self-discipline had better grades, better school attendance, and higher standardized-test scores, and were more likely to be admitted to a competitive high school program. Self-discipline, the researchers found, was more important than IQ in predicting academic success. Other studies have uncovered similar patterns. June Tangney, PhD, of George Mason University, and colleagues compared willpower by asking undergraduate students to complete questionnaires designed to measure their self-control. The scientists also created a scale to score the student’s relative willpower strength. They found the students’ self-control scores correlated with higher grade-point averages, higher self-esteem, less binge eating and alcohol abuse, and better relationship skills. The benefits of willpower seem to extend well beyond the college years. Terrie Moffitt, PhD, of Duke University, and colleagues studied self-control in a group of 1,000 individuals who were tracked from birth to age 32 as part of a long-term health study in Dunedin, New Zealand. Moffitt and her colleagues found that individuals with high self-control in childhood (as reported by teachers, parents and the children themselves) grew into adults with greater physical and mental health, fewer substance-abuse problems and criminal convictions, and better savings behavior and financial security. Those patterns held even after the researchers controlled for the children’s socioeconomic status, home lives and general intelligence. Such findings underscore the importance of willpower in nearly all areas of life. Defining Willpower We have many common names for willpower: determination, drive, resolve, self-discipline, self-control. But psychologists characterize willpower, or self-control, in more specific ways. According to most psychological scientists, willpower can be defined as: · The ability to delay gratification, resisting short-term temptations in order to meet long-term goals. · The capacity to override an unwanted thought, feeling or impulse. · The ability to employ a “cool” cognitive system of behavior rather than a “hot” emotional system. · Conscious, effortful regulation of the self by the self. · A limited resource capable of being depleted. This means that the constant battering or should I do it or not - depletes will power. So try to avoid debating with yourself. Just a little piece of advice for you, which you may benefit from. (Your other post did get me thinking very hard and I just realised that to reach to a stage of where I find myself today took me some years - others took months and hours. It does take time to digest information being thrown at you - because we are all at different levels. We can only make changes in small steps. However if we don't make the effort to move we will remain where we are. The mind is like a wild untrained horse which will fly into all directions. As Guru Jio says Nimakh maye chaar koont fir aaye - which means In an instant it can go to the four corners of the world and come back) However man jite jag jeet. If you can win over your mind (and make it work for you the way you want - then you will win over the whole world) The battle is going on within the self and the mind - which does not want to listen.

  14. There are a number of shabads which have their words written on them.. lyrics on the screen. However if you want the meanings of any shabad and any shabad in punjabi too, there is an app called Gurbani nirvaan. It has the options to choose to read the meanings in English too. (In fact you can read them in English only if you want) The search in this app is so easy that you just need to type in the first letters of the words in punjabi. e.g. if you want to get to Thakur gaiye aatam rang - you type in TGAR. Well it will bring you the shabad, but you got to know a little punjabi in order to know which search is correct. However you are welcome to ask me for help anytime. Alternatively you can choose to listen to an album and I will get you all the shabads in there and their meanings too. That way you can focus on certain shabads at one particular time. To listen is supreme. These lines are from Japji sahib. They tell us the benefits of listening to the word of God. 16. Loneliness can sometimes be a blessing because it is when you are alone that you can hear Gods voice. So turn it to your advantage by engaging in simran. When there is no interruption, you are able to devote your time and concentrate better. Its all in our thinking. You have a relationship with everyone, even your dad. Its a product of the idle mind. Its your imagination. Simran will help you beat negative thoughts. That is because no one in this world can become your best friend. Only God can, if you let him. Satgur is the friend who will stand by you even after death. This is what your empty soul is telling you to search for. We are all hungry - we constantly need air, water food and attention and most important positive thoughts in order to keep going. That positive thought is the name of God. You get it through simran, sadh sangat, listening shabads and it is the one which gives you peace and satisfaction( after you have eaten it) All this is from Gurbani. I cannot find the lines, but all this spiritual wisdom has been explained in the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Finally after gaining your spiritual wisdom, the line below explains how you can trample all the demons which are kam, karodh, lobh moh and ahankaar. ਦਲਿ ਮਲਿ ਦੈਤਹੁ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥ दलि मलि दैतहु गुरमुखि गिआनु ॥ Ḏal mal ḏāṯahu gurmukẖ gi▫ān. The Gurmukh tramples the demons underfoot with his spiritual wisdom. Turn to Naam to distract yourself and your problem will be solved. Keep turning to naam. Get addicted to reading, hearing and listening to the name of God through apps, videos, going to the guradwara and reading good books. Focus on the positive. The most important thing is that you have recognised your problem. Give yourself credit for that. Go to the guradwara and dust the shoes of the sangat there. Recite Waheguru in your mind as much as possible when you are there. Yes having a bath with Amrit is powerful, but you have to drink in the real Amrit too which is the name of God. Finally keep in mind small steps make great changes. It is walking in the right direction which is the most important. You will surely reach your deestination if you keep walking and also taking care to face the right direction all the time. Half the cure is in knowing and admitting you have a problem.

  17. I was asking Paji Jacfsing2 this. For me a blessing can also be praise and well wishes of somebody, wishing somebody goodness. I agree with your definition Paji Singh123456777. The point being missed is not higher or lower, but what is a blessing? A blessing can be used in different contexts, it all depends how it's used in words. People may not agree with what I'm saying, but the ones that know will understand what I mean. Eg: a beggar may give a praise and give a King well wishes, it's being used in that context. ?? 19. Pen Jee, this example above of Srimatee Parvati and Shiv Jee, is quite clear, that these gods and the rest of them have absolutely nothing to do with Wahiguru. You see they have genders, which means still very much in the mayavee realms. On the other hand, thanks to Gurmat, we know that, that Supreme Being is only One and formless : Sach Khand vaseh Nirankar. There, there are no such conversations, between Wahiguru and His hypotetical wives, souls or Guru Sahibans... Why? Because there, He alone exists. This is the eternal and changeless Truth. If we believe that Supreme being is One, how come, that Being has wife, children as Ganesha and Kartik, then they got married and had a prole of children...and so on Or he has a trishul as a weapon, then drums, moon on his head , snakes around his neck, sits on a tiger skin, has a bull as his chariot...and the list can go on, not only with him, but as well as with the other superior and lesser gods .... In conclusion, there is a huge variety of personalities from Baikunth downwards, and on the other side, in sikhee, there is only one Wahiguru....not only that, but whosoever reaches there, leaves far behind his mayavee coverings, to merge and become one with Akal Purukh. Is not that wonderful and fascinating by itself? Without any differences of genders, forms, colors, sizes, animals around, planets...nothing of that sort. I am afraid, many may be thinking, oh so boring, only Wahiguru, Wahiguru and Wahiguru, no me, no my freinds, no ancestors, no this, not that..... maybe that is why the weaker in mind and faith run after the lesser entities with forms and colors, as they get fascinated by all that paraphernalia, or the sizziling maya If this was the case, it is a real pity, we have not understood sikhee at all. That is why, the Bani tells us and assures us: Ekas bin sabh dandh hae. The Supreme Wahiguru is the fountain and source of all wisdom and bliss. Such is His state, that the Bani says, when there was nothing, He was absorbed in Himself, in the Shabad Dhun state. So sangat jee, do not worry, the fears and doubts we have in our minds is all braham, on the contrary we have nothing to loose by merging ourselves in Wahiguru, we microscopic minuscule drops, will become the Infinite Satnam Samundar, that is His wadeeayee, His unconditional love for us moorakhs. Sat Sree Akal.

  20. There is a lot of truth in this, from a warrior kaum that held shastar and knowledge of their usage in high esteem , we have turned the very shastar into symbolic heirlooms. Blunt kirpans that are strictly forbidden to ever be removed from their sheaths.. Even worse kirpans substituted for wearing a blunt metal kirpan cutout on a black thread around ones neck as a substitute... The 10th Master worshipped weapons as his peers, there is no greater respect of shastar then learning how to utilise them and understand the science if their usage. This is true shastar pooja. A bunch of fat overweight individuals with blunt kirpans only useful for spreading butter on toast is not the Khalsa Fauj the 10th master created.

  23. This must be really bad if you have seen therapist and got no where. If you feel funny going there wearing a dastar - then yes you should go there. Perhaps it is what will motivate you from stopping. Don't focus on your dastar when you go there. 99% of the chance is that no one there will eve be focussing on your dastar apart from yourself. The main thing which is going to stop you from your bad habit is the will to stop. Going to groups is of no use if you dont have the motivation to stop. The best way to stop a bad habit is to develop another good one which will divert you from the bad one. Think of alternative things you could watch on the computer. Get rid of all your tapes and videos if that is what you use. ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ. One Universal Creator God. Depending on your closeness to God - try starting to spend more time watching religious videos and reading some good books which will divert your attention from your habit. Think of this - why do you not think twice of watching it with a dastar on when you are now focussing on whether you should go and stop your habit and your dastar is being your focus point. Why do this in the first place with your dastar on? Think of the time which your habit is wasting - you could be achieving other things in the meantime. Moreover you may be a good example for others who have this problem - and wear dastar too. Think positively all the time. Don't think twice when going to do something good. Think more than twice before doing something as bad a watching porn.

  24. Yeah, they're doing that because they realize gullible people like you are getting angry over this nonsense and, like typical politicians, they are pandering to your hysterics to protect/increase their share of the votes. The politics of appeasement. The most prudent political move is almost never the most intelligent move, or the most moral. This condemnation of Kultar Singh, although politically astute, is neither intelligent (for god's sake, just read my first post) nor moral (he's done NOTHING wrong).
