  1. Krodh is a very peculiar vikaar. Me personally, my Krodh can be directed towards Maharaj because I sometimes feel there is great injustice in the world and I sometimes feel that the least deserving get the best outcomes and the best people get the worst outcomes. And I do ask Maharaj, "Why the great paradox? " In life, I understand there are obstacles and struggles and they must be overcome. Otherwise if life was smooth sailing, there would no point in being here. We have a part to play. I have had to change my perspective on the way I look at things. This has only happened with the Guru's grace. As humans, we are very limited in our view of the world and the universe, in it's workings. It's like we have small fragment of a map and we have navigate across in this journey. If we are on a ship, we navigate across the ocean, Maharaj's jot is like a Lighthouse to guide us. We only see certain things, there is so much we do not and we are ignorant to many things. My ego has to submit to Maharaj's hukam. Because I cannot see the bigger picture. And when I do see some the bigger picture then I realise what a blithering murakh that I am. That is why brahmgianis are so humble.

  4. Before doing bad we think twice; • ‘I could be expelled from school’ • ‘I could be sacked from work’ • ‘I could go to prison’ • ‘I could be punished in hell’ • ‘I could be placed on quality control by admins’ ? Naam contains nothing but happiness, so we do we think twice to meditate on naam? ? Isn’t it a no brainier that simro simar simar sukh pavo? ?

  5. It is Maharaj in his kirpa that can decide whether a Non-Sikh will go to Sachkand. Maharaj's hukam is universal. It is not for us to be able to assume whether a Non Sikh will not go/ go to Sachkand. A non-Sikh has to be answerable to their karma like the rest of us. This is between the Non-Sikh and Maharaj.

  7. The fareed whose bani is in sggs is the 27h fareed of the lineage. Guru sahib met him. And yes guru sahib met all the bhagats and they were sikhs. Where kabeer mentions satguru he means guru sahib

  8. Sheikh Farid sakargunj was the author of the Bani we read in Guru ji , the tradition in his group was the leader next to take the kursi of the Wali was renamed Farid ji too . So yes Farid ji met Guru ji but not the original although one knows 'sabh Gobind hai Sabh Gobind hai' and 'Har Harjan dohay ikk hai , bib bichar kach nahin...' I have heard that original panj piare were bhagats reborn to take amrit specifically and do sewa of panth.

  9. https://www.britishboxingnews.co.uk/blogs/amir-khan-is-backing-national-amateur-champion-to-become-first-ever-sikh-world-champion Amir Khan will advise Liverpool's Tal Singh ahead of summer debut Two-Time World Champion Amir Khan is backing red-hot talent Tal Singh to become the first ever Sikh world champion boxer. Khan is advising the 26-year-old from Liverpool, who is expected to make his highly anticipated professional debut this summer. Light-flyweight Singh began his amateur boxing career relatively late at 18, but with his natural talent he quickly progressed through the ranks in just 14 fights. He’s already made history as the first Singh to ever win the England Boxing National Championship in 2018 and incredibly won the title again the following year. Singh’s undoubted potential also caught the eye of former World Heavyweight Champion David Haye and trainer Ruben Tabares when he trained at the Hayemaker gym alongside Haye for many years. Not only does the boxing world highly rate him, but he also has a big celebrity following, including magician Dynamo, rapper Tinie Tempah, WWE Champion Jinder Mahal, singer Jay Sean and Bollywood signer and music producer Maj Musik. Singh believes that this will be a turning point for boxing’s popularity in the Sikh community and his success will inspire widespread Punjabi participation in the sport. He said, “I’m really excited for what the future holds, having Amir behind me and creating something special legacy wise for the both of us being in one team! I've been working really hard for many months alongside Amir in Bolton. I know there is a lot of pressure on me being Amir’s first and only fighter that he’s looking after, but I’m confident I will deliver on everything Amir believes and sees in me. I really do think we can do something special together and we're thrilled to share this news with the world." Khan is delighted to be working with Singh and know’s what it’s like to break down barriers. He said, “I’m so happy to working with Tal and I will be putting all my energy into taking him to the top and becoming the first ever Sikh world champion boxer. He’s breaking down boundaries, just like I did when I became the first ever British-Pakistani world champion to open the doors for the Muslim community in boxing. I see in him the dedication, mentality and focus to become a world champion. I know what it takes to be a world champion and I see that in him. So much so, that I believe in 10 fights he will be world class and ready to fight for a title. My job is to take him to the top, if I didn’t believe in him I wouldn’t waste my time as I’m still a boxer myself, but with Tal I know he’s committed and dedicated to achieving his dream. Khan also added that Singh features in one of the forthcoming episodes of the reality show Meet The Khans: Big in Bolton that starts on BBC3 next Monday.

  12. Guys (and ladies), stop to think of what's being suggested. It's verging on disrespect. I'm not going to waffle with stuff that doesn't make sense. 1. Guru Gobind Singh is antarjami, correct? Omniscient (all-knowing) despite being in their Sargun form. 2. Now consider the ground-level events of the first Amrit Sanchaar in 1699. Don't anyone get excited and lofty; we'll just stick to what we know. Guru Ji sent out word to Sikhs to assemble at Anandpur. Sikhs arrived at a mass gathering of fellow Sikhs where, eventually, Guru Ji asked for five Sikhs to volunteer their heads. 3. If Guru Ji knew the identity of the Panj Pyaare BEFORE they volunteered, then why the selection process AND the dramatic manner in which it occurred (the thunderous rage; some Sikhs slipping away to complain to Mata Gujjar Kaur, etc)? If you say, "They wanted to discern who would be brave enough to follow their command," then that also doesn't make sense, because with Guru Ji being omniscient AND the fact that the Panj Pyare were PRE-DESTINED to be the ones who would volunteer their heads (because only those five were the bhagats who were supposed to come forward that particular day), Guru Ji would know which of his Sikhs would step forward and who wouldn't. NO OTHER SIKHS that day would've ever stood up, because they were never karmically pre-selected to do so. If someone argues, "Guru Ji wanted to give their other Sikhs an opportunity to volunteer," that also doesn't make sense, because nobody else at Anandpur could've been those five Singhs who were bhagats in their previous lifetime. If what I've stated above is the case, then why not send a straight invitation / messenger to the Five requesting their attendance and then when they assembled, just inform them of the plan to make them the Panj Pyaare? Why the display at Anandpur? If the identity of the Five was set in concrete prior to the Amrit Sanchaar, then baptise those Singhs, and then present them to the horde at Anandpur, AND then instruct everyone else that they could now be baptised, too. Nobody would've protested. The showmanship aspect of what people are suggesting is quite unsettling. You folks are inadvertently claiming that Guru Ji "tricked" the sangat with his blood and thunder display. Essentially, the "Panj Pyaare were bhagats" narrative is very damaging. It flies in the face of the egalitarian message of the concept of that first Amrit Sanchaar by suggesting that out of everyone at Anandpur, only those particular five Singhs were ever meant to volunteer their heads out of potentially thousands of possible candidates. Why? Because the SIXTH civilian Sikh who took amrit (after Guru Gobind Singh Ji of course) was the first Sikh to KNOW that his life wasn't in danger at the hands of Guru Ji's sword. The Five (if they weren't aware of their divine heritage and weren't physically cognisant of this fact) were happy with going to their deaths at the hands of Guru Ji. Once the Five had re-emerged as the Panj Pyaare, any subsequent Sikh taking amrit knew they weren't going to die. THAT'S why the Panj Pyaare being normal men (who didn't know of their destiny) is SO essential. It provides us mortals with HOPE that we should place our faith in Guru Ji's hukam, and that we should UNDERSTAND that those Five had absolute faith in Guru Ji's hukam, something lacking in the other Sikhs present. By making the Five into virtual God-men (of an obviously lesser status compared to Guru Sahib) it makes it seem as if the rest of us are being fooled into following orders that were never meant to test us or resonate with us in any truthful or meaningful way.

  17. Modern Science talks about emotional stress and how it impacts the nervous system. You have sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. Anger/Krodh is an emotional stress that maybe has a short term function but can cause health problems if it is prolonged. Now psychologists talk about meditation as an aid to calm your nervous system and to help manage stress? What do you think Gurbani does? What does naam simran do? It helps to calm your nervous system, it helps to manage stress. Gurbani not only helps you spiritually but also mentally and physically too. We've only begun to scratch the surface.

To get over this, Bhai Vir Singh said to start with a small amount of Simran (5 minutes a day) and build up to longer amounts of time. Bhul Chuk Maaf ?

  20. I use to adore these types of theories when I was younger. But if you stop to analyse the implications behind them and tally them up with Sikh philosophy not only per Gurbani but ancillary writings, they do a lot of damage for thinking Sikhs. You can impress and shut-up an unthinking pendu with pretty much anything, but try that with someone even a little more considerate and you're opening up Pandora's Box.

  21. What I have heard is to embody the Guru in that special time and place , the panj must be rehityaan gursikhs of the calibre that they have never had to do pesh , or slipped in their nitnem and amritvela ever as the asthaan has to be sucha for the job (hirdaae) . Men because it represents Akal Roop as the only male principle amongst us. Until a sant of high avasta and khalsa panth decides otherwise it will stay so.

  24. Problem is the underlying narrative of those promoting male banishment from public spaces are of the, "I don't need a man" mindset. They don't want men to chaperone them; what they want is to wander the streets doing whatever they like and at whatever time they desire. Any possible agenda will never involve a Sharia-type Islamic chaperone system. No chance.

I had a big talk with some plonker who wanted to big up Bibi Jagiro for this project, I refuse to recognise her as a sikh, as representing sikh females or even as having done anything other than accepting the cash and proposal , it seems that made him mad . But truth is why is a known murderer of her daughter and worse murderer of her unborn grandchild purely because the girl had anand Karaj with a lower caste guy is being pushed into the limelight for our panth's hard work when she is nothing but a rubber stamper??

  28. Well, they've set precedents for restricting movement in unrelated areas (to women's safety) with the Covid lockdowns. It's not a stretch to imagine they can transfer the same philosophy to another social need to "protect" individuals. Once people willingly give away freedoms and liberties in one area, the ruling class will continue to find ways to abuse their power. Away from cranks, women fearing for their lives simply for walking the streets after dark shouldn't be a thing in today's society. It's actually quite sick if you stop to think about it.
