Is it not surprising to see how much singhs and singhniea wear red and green? It is forbidden in the sikh dharm to wear red or green. For those who might not know yet, a sikh cannot wear red because thats the hindus colour, and we cant wear green because that is islams colour. The four colours of sikhi are black, blue, saffron, and white. Other colours should be avoided and one should try to wear only the khalsa, colours, but red are green are strictly forbidden.

Bhia sahib Saint soldier je,

Their are certain dos and donts in sikhi. Sikhi has many rules, which are not hard. To live the life of a gursikh, you must have 100 percent reight inside and out. We must follow all the rules of satguru maharaj je, then we shall obtain raj, and we shall also obtain mukhti ( hopefully). But we must read bani, listen/do kirtan, read sikh history, and live in 100% reight maryada. Less than 100% does not cut it. Sikhi is not a right, it is an honour and an privelage. One must earn the honour of being a sikh.

yess paaji if im not mistken (guru sahib im sorry) when gurujee gave daas amrit the panj pyare told this,its not a rehat but genral they told not to wear green bhul chuk maaf and apne saitsoldier paaji is also rite be a good sikh my 0 percent.

I see no difference in any color.. and i personaly would never admit in my life that sikhi discourage sikhs not to wear particular color clothes..

lal, peela, hara, chita everything is same to me..

This is also where i strongly against 3ho's on color issue cauz they think that all white brings more positive energy or stuff..

Sadh Sangat Jee I also agree with Singh Jee that sikhi does not discourage any colour.

Already lot of issues among us are still to be resoloved so i do not think we should make one more rather we should do efforts to reslove the pending issues of Sikhism.

The colour Black in Sikhi stands for freedom, the colour Blue means that You are ready to fight the daily battle (could be mental or physical). The colour Saffron means that you are ready to get shaheed for sikhi. The colour white is usually associated with Saintly people.
