ok, I will check wit my library to see if it is there !

added ltr: On random googling I infer that Sangat Singh ji has written about Indira Gandhi's era and 1984 in particular. We were in a very less than perfect situation then because mis-governance and non-governance thrived during Indira gandhi's rule and apart from RSS and a few diehard congressmen I believe she has very few fans as of today.

typical hindu insecurities then as well as now (in gujarat) played an important role in creating a monster out of a lizard. the day the hindus start acting like men and stop behaving like cowards India would have rid itself of most of its problems.

actually raju veerji, i've thought of the same question as to how this information got out to the public of the things that were done to him, and most likely there is a simple explanation for that. if neone can answer that would be good.... its good to question stuff to clear things up.

veerji, the chandighar police have been ordered to bring Hawara Singh to court on two separate occasions and they have failed to do so thus far. we can speculate on why this is.

As it was said earlier, old habits die hard and Hawara Singh was probably tortured as we saw in the picture that he needed help in getting down off of a vehicle. as for having access to a lawyer, if Hawara Singh is not given the oppurtunity of seeing a lawyer, the media would pick this up and it would become a big deal. maybe allowing him to speak, will make people second guess, as you have brought up the question, to the validity of what he is saying. why would the cops let him talk? maybe they think that many will not believe him.....

theres a lot of things that could be a factor, the one thing we do know is that it has been done in the past, it has continued up to certain extent to the present, and there is a very large possibility that it is still happening....

bhul chuk maaf

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa. Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.

ohmy.gifohmy.gif thats like saying "What's so important about looking at pictures of our Gurus?"

its so that we never forget. pictures are worth a million words. i have pictures of the shaheeds and also people in my family who passed away to remember them. yes, we can remember them without the pictures but the pictures are important.

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa. Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.

Sat Sri Akal:

The answer to why Jagtar Singh is still alive and reporting his torture is two-fold is this:

1) He is now a public figure and the Sikhs know of his case. IF he was simply made to disappear (though don't be surprised if he is on trumped up accusations like "he tried to esacpe" or something similar), the Sikh community would cry foul and the government would have a bit of a problem on their hands.

2) Jagtar Singh is a Sikh. He knows he will be tortured. He knows and has already stated that he might be killed. But he also knows that he must expose as much of the Indian injustice as possible. He will not go down silently and will fight at least with his words. What good is shutting up going to do? He stays silent, and he will definitely be made to disappear. He keeps telling of his tortures and people will keep an eye on him and those who have captured him.

Raju Sahib, Sangat Singh's book goes a way more back...starts its focused writing post-Guru Gobind Singh Ji period. You must understand that the Brahmins (you know, those guys that basically control India)have been scared crazy since the day Guru Nanak Sahib rejected the Janeoo. Sikhism worries them a lot. God forbid they ever run out of distractions for the Indian public (you know, blame the Muslims, the Sikhs, the Christians, Pakistan and repeat in cyclic fashion).

God forbid more that anyone in India ever discover a religion outside their Hinduism (you know, where Brahmins sit on top of all the other "castes"). They will lose power and you know...in India, the chair is everything. Their victory over the Buddhists in India centuries ago is the template of repression. Infiltrate the philosophy and dig in deep. At the same time, buy out corrupt people of the other faith and attack physically. the three-fold attack physically, mentally/scriputrally/history and socially, and you have a good formula for strangling a religion to death. The one problem is the Guru Granth Sahib. It stands to be the single reason that Sikhism has lasted this long. Its constant thrashing of the Brahmins in the Asa Di Vaar is a most deadly weapon. It is a thorn in the virtual Brahmin butt. Otherwise, Sikhs would have been shoved into the Neo-Kshytria category a long time ago. The Sikhs stand as a very problematic roadblock to the arrival of the Manu laced ruling of India. Though the law may not be in effect as a religious one, it is indeed in effect economically. And there is also the reason for hating Christians...those people keep messing up that delicate economic caste balance that took the Brahmins thousands of years to establish.

But enough rambling...read that book...it has better detail. If you cannot find it, I can point you to a online store from where to buy.
