We should all try to make a conscious decision to get along it is only in our own interests as a people who, and lets me honest are struggling with ourselves our community panth and the world as a whole. I have always believed that we should at least have a bases and agreement of the fundaments that seem to divide us. We have built stereotypes to suit our prejudices I also am guilty of this I don’t deny it.

It has become the norm that people who bring forward issues like Khalistan are labelled fanatics those that object are labelled snathan rss etc. Those that talk about certain type of rehit are labelled Parkundi PKJs. Those that follow other traditions are labelled Nangs etc. We need to agree foundations or “we have agreed to disagree” on certain issues and move on to the things that unify us which are far more than those that separate us and these things can make us stronger as a people and individuals .

We all possess amazing energy, knowledge, strength that is so evident here we can all bring so much to the banquette.

If you think I am being cheesy, fraudulent and cant find the emotion for diplomacy be realistic we are so few and beggars cant afford to be choosers you would still benefit regardless.

I stick my hand out and offer friendship.

The biggest problem is that almost everyone on this forum, including me, has way too hard a time saying

"oh, maybe you're right"

There's always been discussion and even almost-arguments before.. me and smartsingh24 used to have our spats back in the day, but it was still jus brotherly... the stuff that goes on now is just unbelievable.

You just KNOW kim bolan's having a freaking field day with all this bull----... no one thinks twice about what kind of message they're sending out to non-sikhs reading this board... as if they thikn there's some sort of verification process that confirms a person's sikhi before they can post or read topics.

Everyone wants to appear "oocha".. it's human nature, but you'd think a bit of compassion would come in... but now, it's like agreeing to disagree is a crime, that if someone does it, it shows weakness... all of a sudden, you're a better singh if you can win an argument... it's twisted logic.

If I have ever caused anyone any grief, or come under the definitoin of having abused, i apologize sincerely.

We shouldn't be afraid to discuss and have opposing thoughts and opinions... sikhi's stronger for it... pardon the analogy, it's the concept i'm thinking of, but it's like how important diversification is in bacteria, so that the entire species can continue procreating.. how some build immunity against antibiotics and stuff...

we need to understand the strengths that lie in our community, and realize that maybe one of the different thought-processes is a strength , not a weakness.

Shukar Hai, everything happens at the right time. hopefully w elearn and grow from it.

Unless you mean resetting the board by the admins taking out all the topics that are pointless and creating problems amongst members ... threads that aren't in accordance with the guidelines/rules of the forum ... which admins do to the best of their ability ... we just gotta help em out by 'reporting' members and topics ... cause resetting the whole board ... not sucha good idea ... I can't believe how many inspirational topics I still search and go back to read over and over again ... like those Essay Marathons ... Vaheguru !!

Heera's Singh's suggestion about taking the gupt forum out is a suggestion I agree with. Most of the topics that get outta hand are because anyone can come and post ANYTHING in that section, and since there are so many threads made there each day ... It's impossible for the admin to moderate ALL of em ... and some members like to take things further and get all heated instead of being calm and simply 'reporting' the topic. Taking out the gupt forum is a good idea ... OR ... keep the gupt forum, people do not have to sign up for the forum ... however ... all topics that people wish to start in the gupt forum MUST go through admin first ... Admin must approve of the topic before it goes up. This is the alternative ... however ... personally ... I would suggest that Gupt Section be taken out altogether cause even though the topic seems like it's a simple question and people can give their own opinions in a proper manner ... this is not always the case.

what about adding a moderator to the team who only has access to moderating gupt section, and only has gupt section responsibilties?

such a member would not be allowed to moderate anything in the other sections, and thus, would have to devote 100% of their moderating time in the gupt section.

That way, the gupt sectino would receive special attention.

    • Umm, that's totally irrational, bro. There are plenty of prakash-dara Singhs in Punjab (less than we'd like, but still plenty). No one cares that you are sabat soorat. It isn't 1986. You can walk around in chola, kurta-pajama, or jeans. Whatever. If you want the look @dallysingh101 is referring to, just go into a cheap clothing shop (not a Western-style mall) and buy some shirts for 250 rupees or a track suit for 2000 rupees. You'll get the cheap stuff made in some sweatshop in Bombay.
    • The Mind is Jyot Saroop (Waheguru), but the mind is under the influence of five evils… Through Naam Simran( Rememberance), the mind will begin to detach from evil, and get back to its original form ( MANN TU JYOT SAROOP HEH)… Until the mind breaks free from the five evils, one will go through the cycle of paap and punn….which leads to Karma… Naam Simran destroys past karma, and prevents new karma coming into fruition… I did this, I did that… This non realisation of the Jyot Saroop gives rise to paap and Punn, which in turn gives birth to suffering and misery…
    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
