its not a kakkar until its actually blessed to you through guru saahib in panj pyarai saroop during an amrit sanchaar when one takes amrit..

otherwise its just a normal steel/iron bangle

Kirpan

Kachera

Keski/Kes

Kanga

But they won't qualify as Kakkars as long as you ain't amritshak and don't follow the rehit given to you by your Panj.

Its not a stupid question but rather than asking us ask yourself why you are wearing a kara. are you wearing it for the sake of it because you're 'supposed' to or do you want to become Guru's Sikh one day..............

I own a kara too, but I don't wear it though since a lot of people (including sikhs) give me dirty looks.
