go for it dude ... i have seen ekonkar on hand of maskeen ji watch their videos .... i have even seen few taksali singhs in here with ekonkar tatto on hand .... even nihangs have half chand on forhead tattooed ....

NO, tattoos are against gurmat, do you think that you can improve on what Vaheguroo gave you? Engrave Ik oankaar onto your heart, not your skin.

the topic of 'tattoo' bein allowed or nah can be debated by both sides... buh the fact remains.. havin an 'ek oankaar' or 'khanda' tattoo wud be offensive to many... so out of respect for dat a person shud'nt get one... even though they might tink i's okay, we shud respect da wishes of our brothers n sisters...

if ur gonna get a tattoo regardless of wha people say, dun make it a religious symbol/gurbani lines...

well basically when you get a tatoo you are doing a kurehit. you will be doing beadbi of your kesh.

i think they shave the place where the tatoo's going. even if they don't when the needle goes into your skin the roots of kesh and kesh that are there will be burnt.

they don't necessarily have to shave da skin off... i's recommended.. buh u dun have to if u dun want to...

well burning, cutting through them, you know what i mean. they can't 'go around' your kesh can they, otherwise it won't look like what you want. so beadbi of kesh and 'denaturing' will happen. that's why we're not allowed to pearce our ears and tongues and stuff.
