it's funny how they have created a new word for kaurs, sikhnee. hillarious. Even in Gadar he puts a tilak on the muslim girl and says, "abh ye ho gayee sikhni" i was like what the heck is a sikhni....

they are making new words now for us. i'm sorry, but these gangus and chandus are treading on thin ice.

it does matter.. when people are disrespecting ur father, ur guru... ur gonna sit there n say it doesn't matter? media has a HUGE influnec on people... people will believe almost netin they see in movies, on t.v., newspapers etc... n if a huge industry like bollywood is spreadin this kinda nonsense, people (even our 'own' people) will start to believe it...

Yes it matters a lot, how the hell can anyone change the meaning for sikh.

I first think they call singni, i was really furious, But they have no rights to change our culture.

Why should anyone associate Om with our religion. We are not Hindus, so why do they want us to show as Hindus.

Once they treat us as terrorists, in second ways as fools with 12 o clock jokes and third way changing very definition of sikhs.

The Guru is seeing all there stupid things. It is not right to forget this. When someone tries to change your religion and culture, one should not only recite name, we have to come forward for our right. Sikhs are sant sipahi and just think what Dasam Patshah wants his singhs to be.

We can speak out using humor, reason, etc. via our own media.

They have bollywood, we have youtube to get our message across. Lets use our creative licenses. There are far superior creative geniuses amongst Sikhs than amongst the 8 rotating storylines in bollywood.

Free speech entails responsibilities, what better method to communicate this than our own responsible free speech? This means we are sensitive to Hinduism while bluntly directing our message at bollywood.

Imagine some spoofs to get the message across that bollywood is racist. Here are a couple of titles of the top...

Here are some possible brainstorms for themes for humor or other skits about bollywood.

1. They assume everything is a part of Hinduism to a ridiculous extreme

2. They have a difficult time understanding what was wrong with apartheid, the goals of the kkk, and judging people.

3. They have extremely low self-esteem or inferiority complexes

4. They overplay how proud they are to be Indian because deep down their psyche has trained them to wish they were fair skinned.

5. The movie industry actively seeks to recruit the worst ever students in history/religious studies.

6. They are bullies covering for the flashbacks they still have where they picked on a Sikh kid when they were young, who in turn displayed courage and mercy, but the bully still p**d his pants while all the other students laughed.

7. They struggle with the concept that brown is not the same as Hindu.

8. They rationalize one by one how anyone worthy of historical recognition is Hindu, Beethoven, Jesus, Casper the Friendly Ghost, Mickey Mouse

maybe a cash prize can be included? we can make this as big as we want. we can coordinate this with the folks who head up the sikh film festival in Toronto, and make thsi topic one of their categories?

we have so many creative intelligent people here....lets hve a competition.

and lets not forget that the dancing in that bhool bhulyia movie thingi...they show statue of bhuudhaa as well(girls dancing around him...which is sooo against their belief/faith :sady: )

are those movies out yet? lets just first wait ...and look at the whole movie(s)..what it has to say before doing anything.just a suggestion..what do u guys think? we know bollywood has been doing crazy stuff like that for ages...but if we r gonna add clips from these two movies, it would be wise to watch them and critique them before making any conclusions based on some small clips/trailers?
