In the last few years there have been so many campaigns or committees formed to fight beadbi. Just contact one of them, there's supposed to be group in Brum made of Bhai Mohinder Singh GNNSJ, some "Babbars" (edward st faction) and some other oldies. Then theres Jasvinder S Ubhi and his r4g lads. Then there's those lads from ilford or watford that keep turning up at all the beadbi events. Failing that get the local prabhandaks involved or the Brum council of Gurdwaras, Mr SS Mandala and Gang.

I have said this for a while, we need a parbhandak commettee in every country. We have Sikh Federation here but there role is more at the political level, at the same time there should be a code of conduct set for all gurdwaras in the country. It should be stated that any organisation trying to run a GURDWARA must adhere to this constitution such that any commettee found breaking the rules can be held accountable.

There are many benefits of having a national gurdwara commette, They can distribute funds to help build gurdwaras etc, provide funds/support to extending gurdwaras. Muslims have many organisations, why cant sikh have any?

I'm sure over the past 2 years several have been set up in the UK. There is the national council of gurdwaras, network of sikh gurdwaras in brum. Theres even a satkaar committee set up in brum somewhere, didnt they deal with the ek niwas and other things. Someone must know them, get them involved.

Sikhs love to drink, dance so whats all the fuss about? rolleyes.gif

The Gurdwareh only care about money, no wonder they are investing in a party hall, bet you its prob has a wedding party booked every week.

You need to change the mentality of Sikhs, well the mentality of these Masands running the Gurdwareh.

Cant you just kick them out? I'd e quite happy to run gurdwarehs money and affairs, Got an E in Maths tho

update:

the meeting held a couple of days ago was between the committee and some prominment members of the sangat (local guys). The committee announced that it had £40,000 in the gurdwara account and it wanted ideas as to what to do with it!! The people at the meeting were divided in two opinions...one side wanted the cash to be used to enlarge the community hall and attract more parties and functions which would mean more revenue and therefore help to cover the cost of the Gurdwara's morgtage...This group of people also promised to help fund and support any youth activities which the Gurdwara commitee has been refusing to do for the last 4 years...

The second group of people didn't want to extend the community hall but did not have any other bright ideas as what to do with the money either..the meeting finished with no decision taken place...

From what I have out, the next day the President along with the general secertary and treasurer took most of the £40,000 and made an payment to the bank on their morgtage..now their monthly morgtage repayment has decreased by a huge amount as they have paid a huge sum at once!!

The other members found out about this and created an uproar saying it was against the gurdwara's constitution to go ahead with a decision without the approval of the whole committee...5 members of the committee who are also incharge of the community hall have decided not to give any of the revenue earnt from the hall to the Gurdwara but instead keep it with themselves and use that money to extend that hall...Previously the majority of the Gurdwara's revenue used to come from the hall...
