Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

In a statement issued to the press, Singh Sahib Giani Iqbal Singh Ji - Jathedar Takhat Sri Patna Sahib Ji has made it clear if he is summoned at Sri Akal Takhat Sahib Ji by Bhai Joginder Singh Vedandi and the other 4 Singh Sahibaans on the grounds of Takhat Sri Patna Sahib issuing the Hukamnama for the Puraatan Maryada to be implicated once again in the Sikh Faith and in Sri Darbar Sahib Sri Harmandir Sahib & the rejection of the Nanakshahi Calendar, Jathedar Giani Iqbal Singh Ji will summon, Parkash Singh Badal, Avtar Singh Makkar and the Singh Sahibaans at Takhat Sri Patna Sahib Ji on their every mis-conduct in the Sikh Faith.

Giani Iqbal Singh Ji has stated that the people who have made the problem between the Takhats worse are the Jathedaar's of the Takhat's in Punjab namely: Jathedar Joginder Singh Vedanti (Jathedar Sri Akal Takhat Sahib), Giani Balwant Singh Nandghar (Jathedar Takhat Sri Damdama Sahib), Jathedar Tirlochan Singh (Jathedar Takhat Sri Kesgarh Sahib).

Giani Iqbal Singh has said when the Nanakshahi Calendar was issued, he was not even invited and this was issued swiftly all under political pressure.

Both Takhat Sri Patna Sahib & Takhat Sri Hazur Sahib Ji expressed their protest against this Calendar, at the same time Sant Samaj and Damdami Taksal rejected this calendar too, and named this calendar the "Dhuke - shahi Calendar" (Calendar inplemented by force).

Jathedar Iqbal Singh also stated that he nor Takhat Sri Hazur Sahib Ji has not been sent an invite to the meeting of the Sikh High Priests on the 5th February.

Talking about Panthic Ekta Jathedar Ji said he is all for Panthic Ekta, but Puraatan (Original) Rehit Maryada must be re-implemented at all cost.

Damdami Taksal & Sant Samaj firmly stand by Jathedar's Hukamnama and request the Sangat and Gurdwara's around the world to implement it without delay.

We request the rest of the Sangat to support the Jathedar, otherwise like with Jathedar Singh Sahib Bhai Ranjit Singh Ji (Ex Jathedar Sri Akal Takhat Sahib) the SGPC will remove Singh Sahib Giani Iqbal Singh Ji off his post as Jathedar Sri Patna Sahib. If Jathedar Ji has spoken out against Badal & friends we should show solidarity with him.

No one has the right of removing a Jathedar off his post or suspending him, on Sarbat Khalsa Samgam can change such posts, only Sarbat Khalsa can remove and replace Jathedar's.

Great news and bad news at the same time, thats just the state of the Panth. About time this happpened.

People are often unaware of the who great politics sorrounding our takhts. If I am not mistaken Damdama Sahib was only created as a Takht in the 1960s/maybe 70s. If you speak to well informed elders, they will tell you that Damdama Sahib* in Sabo Kee Talwandee was only created as a Takht so that these reforms against Sikhi could be implemented. Patna Sahib and Hazur Sahib Jathedars were always in favour of puratan maryada, The takhts in Punjab under political pressure were constantly trying to make reforms. When the Jathedars would meet neither side could enforce its views as the votes were 2-2. Many people have absolutely no doubt about it, indeed you can ask Jathedars at Patna Sahib and Hazur Sahib, that the only reason for Damdama Sahib being created a Takht was so that the Punjab Takhts had a majority 3-2 and would always be able to implement their reforms. Sardar Kapoor Singh has written a fantastic article on this subject.

* Damdama Sahib has always been known as 'Guru Kee Kashi'

Although I don't agree with everything in the Panthic Rehit Maryada, I don't think it can be changed by decree on a whim. There is a method of doing things. You can't resolve the mool mantar controversy simply by declaring a 'winner' without any process. Also, it's a fiction to think that Patna Sahib can issue hukumnamas like this. Major hukumnamas have always been issued from Sri Akal Takhat Sahib. To say otherwise is just fiction.

As for no one except Sarbat Khalsa can remove Jathedars: ideally, I'd agree with you. But the fact is that these Jathedars haven't been appointed by a Sarbat Khalsa. The Committees that appointed them are the same Committees that reserve the right to remove them.

Where was all this hoo haa I will summon so and so when all the lucha sauda stuff was happening?Did'nt see this Iqbal Singh then, now he acts like a CEO of the Sikh faith,Akal Thakt is the Sumpreme authority on the Nation or Sarbat Khalsa,no one else is ,Nanakshahi symbolises our move away from the Hindu calendar ,and is widely supported in the West by Sikhs, don't know about the Taksalis in the west but the majority of everyone else does.

We know all the leaders are useless including Vedanti,Makkar and so on,but Iqbal Singh has no right to challenge akal thakts authority, and DDT should sort out their own house before telling sangat to do this and that, sant samaj (no idea why they made tht)- the crew of 'sants', have no authority over the Nation, collectively it is the Akal Thakt.

Nanakshahi Calendar will remain i promise you,oh yeah and whats this 'Singh Saabh'business these days, every guy who thinks he leads the Panth is a Singh Saabh enough with the titles already

This is the link to the article, Sardar Kapur Singh has argued from a metaphysical point of view and has not so much addressed the politics behind the issue. He makes his point pretty clear:

THERE are and legitimately remain only four High Seats of Sikh Authority, the 'Takhts' and a recent innovation of fifth takht set up by ignorant heresiarchs and new con-trollers of the official Board of Management of the Sikh historical shrines (S.G.P.C.) is al-together repugnant to and unwarranted by the true Sikh doctrine or the metaphysical postulates and mythological traditions of India.

Perhaps something to discuss in a seperate thread, definetely related to the old maryada vs. puratan maryada. I know Hazur Sahib definetely dont (not sure about Patna Sahib) recognise Damdama Sahib as a Takht.

    • If relationship with Guru is strong, then kanga is done twice a day, and turban should never be taken off or put on like a hat, there is a lot wrong with that as it is against rehit! maryada is to take off every layer of turban/pagh/dumalla individually, and tie fresh turban each time!
    • the whole 'your husband/wife is chosen for you'/sanjog thing is real, it's just that a lot of people end up marrying the wrong person. they did not end up with the person that was meant for them. my friend, you should marry someone who you feel a connection with and love. there are millions of sikh girls, i'm sure you can find someone who aligns with your sensibilities and who you can truthfully say that you love. sikhi does not say anything against love marriages. you can also be in a loveless arranged marriage which is a safe option b/c both families are more inclined to keep the union intact. i was one of those people who was like meh, i guess i'll just get arranged to some sikh. well i finally started dating for the first time this year and i'm getting married to someone that i love and cannot even imagine leaving. i think it's better to have lost & lost than never loved at all. unfortunately, a lot of people confuse love w/ looks & lust. a lot of men go for the fittest girl they can find and think they won the jackpot or something. in reality, your partner should be like an extremely loved best friend. there's a reason why it's a fact that the most stable and long-lasting relationships started as friendships.  i also think a lot of women are petty and divorce over small reasons, but there's other terrible things like high cheating rates as well. that's why the divorce rate in the west is high. be careful out there.
    • andrew tate praises sikhi too & likes sikhs. his brother also donated to sikh families iirc. they just like any "alpha" religion and tbh islam is the most "alpha" in their eyes. islam is very good at promoting that image. but imo a real alpha man doesn't command respect by beating up his wive(s) or forcing them to wear a burqa. a real man will have his woman listen to him w/o raising a hand or his voice, and command respect by being respectful. he leads by example and integrity. that's true masculinity. you get the idea. + yes, it's definitely true that islam is growing rapidly and making massive inroads. strength in numbers + belief will do that. but rlly it's just because of the birth rate. a lot of them are muslim b/c it's their "identity" just like how a lot of young sikhs will say they're "culturally sikh" or whatever. there just aren't billions of sikhs who lambast their identity everywhere and have strict and linear rules like in islam. besides, the reality is that islam and its followers are some of the most morally bankrupt. you can see all the weird trans rules in iran, bacche baazi in afghanistan, visiting brothels, watching p*rn, p*dophilia what goes on behind the scenes in countries like uae & qatar, etc, and come to your conclusions. you can google all the stats yourself and see which countries do the most of these ^.
    • stop associating with hinduism, that's the absolutely worst thing you can do as a sikh. not sure if you noticed but the entire world looks down upon and spits at india & hindus, literally no one respects them and considers them weak and cowardly. literally 1+ billion of them but not perceived as a strong religion commandeering respect.
    • you wrote a whole lot but told us nothing. what exactly did you do wrong to make you feel this way?
