after baba deep singh ji led his jatha to darbar sahib, all of who were ready to lay down their lives and give shaheedi, his jatha, Tarna Dal, became known as Misl Shaheedan Tarna Dal, the misl of shaheeds.

I think they were stressing the point that Misl Shaheedan and Damdami Taksal come from the same lineage. They themselves were very close to Sant Jarnail Singh Ji.
