vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw!

Sangat jeeo, I have a question that has, umm... dogged my mind.

We look it wrong if a gursikh parent cuts their sons' or daughters' hair. However, many of us have dogs, and we cut their hair without question or reason.

If it is wrong for us to cut our hair, why is it OK to cut theirs?

Any answer would be appreciated! rolleyes.gif

interesting question Khalsa4ever ji...i don't have a dog so i don't know a good answer to your question....

but i'll share this:

on the news the other day they showed a sheep that weighed 60 pounds cuz it hadn't been shaved for a long time. All you could see was a BIG ball of hair/wool/ whats it called. Then they showed a video clip of the sheep after they shaved it....the sheep looked so little and naked :umm:

I'll make my question a little more clearer on my side.

We think its wrong for a Sikh parent to cut their kids' hair

We think its wrong for a Sikh to sell alcohol or cigarettes to others (I mean, its wrong for you to have it... but its OK to give stuff to others so they get Drunk??)

We think its wrong for Sikhs to hold a double-standard... preach one thing and then practice another.

God's hukam is God's hukam. If we are supposed to keep our hair, its not because we're human. Its because Gurujee told us that all creatures of God should keep their hair because God gave it to all of us.

So, assuming that, why do we cut our dogs' hair?

Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa!

Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!!

the human body is a specially and incrdible machine, that science has not still been able to find out full capabilities

this body is perfect

our hair is very important

they aid u in ure bhagti

thats one reason y guru je says keep ure natural form

ure hair is not a nusiance, it aids u in reaching vaheguru je, it makes ure bhagti easier

a dog on the other hand,

is not in the state of doing bhagti.

its trapped in the cycle of death and birth

and grass cannot do bhagti either

bhula chuka maf

Khalistani jee, I disagree with you.

A dog most certainly can do bhagti. Was it Guru Hargobind Sahib Jee who shot and killed a rabbit with an arrow to free its soul to join Waheguru?

If the hairs on a human being can make us a superior human, then what right do we have to make our dog inferior?

In my humble opinion, any creature with a nervous system has the ability to make choices in their life. Those choices may be more limited in a dog or a cow, but they are there. It is these choices that give karma to a soul... regardless of what species you inhabit. There is no doubt that the largest amount does come from our human form... but take a look at any animal carefully... they have a soul too... they may either be gentle or vicious. And they are part of Waheguru's kingdom.

i have a half breed husky, his breed cant take the heat of the summer with all of his fur...I dont know ur views but I think im doing him a favour of taking him to the vet...

And regarding keeping our hair, dont we keep it for the number 1 reason of it bieng a hukam of our guru. Not because God made us this way, even though that can be argued rightfully so.

When we think of why we keep our hair, we should remember the command of our guru, not the reasons why.

Right?

Right? Wrong.

Our Gurus never told us to so something cause I told you so. EVERY SINGLE sakhi that we have of our gurus has one thing in common. Our Guru does something, someone asks "Guru Sahib, why did you do that?" Gurujee gives the LOGIC behind what he has done, and THEN people follow that philosophy.

Never do something because someone told you to. That, my friend, is ritual.

Right?

I think you are doing a favor to your dog as well, who would want to see him suffer?

If someone had an problem would they sit there and suffer or go to doctor and get medicine? I beleive we can goto doctors but its only God's kirpa that can heal us from any ailments, medcine is just an excuse.

The point i was trying to make was we should have 100% faith in our guru, did the punj payareh ASK guru ji why he wanted their heads?

    • I've been seeing this more and more recently,  in middle of Paath or Shabad an advert will just pop up throwing me off completely when concentrating. I always thought its very bad to monetize Gurbani,  but then again it could be YouTube themselves. But either way wish it stops, I don't mind it on Katha's but really annoying in Paath and Shabad. Anyways rant over lol
    • Lol. Way to be late to the party there Ravi.
    • The liberal mafia attacking Amaan Baali because he committed the ultimate sin of standing up for the Sikh community in Kashmir and told the truth of the grooming of Sikh girls. Let's look at the background of these liberals who are now attacking Amaan. Monica Gill - failed model latched on to the Farmers agitation in order to gain more exposure and credibility. On the grooming of the Sikh girls in Kashmir she was solidly on the side of the paedophiles. She promoted the Quint narrative that the Sikh girl was an adult even when the paedophile admitted that he had started to target her when she was 12/13. Her sister apparently 'researched' the grooming of Sikh girls in Kashmir and found 'no evidence'!  Ravi Singh KA - we all know about him and his liberal agenda and his main focus on using the Panth's money to help our enemies and gain him a Nobel prize.  This Angadh Singh Khalsa guy - another liberal mupp.et using the Sikh identity to further the cause of the Jihadis. here's an article about him- his main claim to fame- being a dhimmi and helping in the Kashmiri plan to turn Kashmir into an Islamic state like Afghanistan. What could possibly go wrong for Kashmiri Sikhs when that happens? His views on the grooming of Sikhs - he is 'nuanced'! How Kashmir's Fraught Political Journey Led a Young Sikh Man Into Activism (thewire.in) You can judge the value of a person to the Panth by knowing the background of the people  who are attacking him.
