If Jewellery If Not Allowed In Sikhism Then Why Is Part Of The Golden Temple Made Of Gold?.

Recommended Posts

Up till 1849, Darbar Sahib was under the control of Akali Nihungs and they feared no one. They did not care much about Maharaja Ranjit Singh. They remained sovereign. Maharaja Ranjit Singh had no power or control over Darbar Sahib. I have read that he was given tankhah part of which was to cover Darbar Sahib with gold. Idols were installed when British puppets mahants took over.

Gurdwaras are open for all and decorating them shows love of Sikhs for the house of the Guru. Singhs used to bring fine weapons and many valuable things for Guru Sahib. Maharaja Ranjit Singh did bheta of canopy as well as many jewels to Darbar Sahib. There is a big difference between decorating a human body and a Guru Ghar.

Something perhaps intresting, Hinduism tells when Kaljug first came he was granted access by a king to certain places, one of the places Kaljug resides is in Gold (another was gandh houses (brothels, pubs, clubs, gambling places, strip clubs etc) ).

The Gold on Harmindar Sahib has a very important property it reflects heat and light away and due to its placing in the sarowar, it is very cool, until Neshkam Sevak Jatha replaced the Gold, they did not place much gaps between the Gold platting and brick, underneath aswell as the quality of the Gold, not being the same, the whole Harminder heated up, so Darbar Sahib got so hot, the Gianis couldnt sit there, they had to install Air conditioning to counter act it.

Its hard for Sikhs not to have kept Gold, Gold was a universal currency, besides money, with empire change the exchange of Gold has been around, even giving it in weddings, If we are going to say Nihangs and the rest of the panth of Sikhs had separate Maryada it could explain why, but wearing Gold, having makeup do increase pride/ego.

There was Idolism within the Golden Temple complex by the Massands, some descendent of trusted gatekeeper people, basically there was some violation of trust, and loads of accusations have been made, but later on Singh Sabha was formed and the panth re-established Darbar Sahib aswell as other control over Gurdwara Sahibs.

Gold is actually bad for the heart. It's in Gurubaanee. I'll post something proving this when I find it.

Harimandar Sahib has gold on it because it is Harimandar Sahib. <_<

It's the most sacred place. It needs to be unique.

Anyway...

Wear silver. It's cool. Literally :)

People who are young, healthy, and beautiful don't need jewelry, or even nice clothes to attract attention.

Other people use jewelry and such to increase their worldly status. Increased status (as well as a a bunch of other things) leads to increased attraction by the other sex.

Gold on a building doesn't lead to the possibility of a kurehit, though.

"JEH PARSAAD AABHOOKHAN PEHREEJE

MAN TIS SIMRAT KYON AALAS KEEJE"

As such jewellery is not forbidden but you are warned

to not be lazy after wearing it.

Whosoever say that jewellery is MAYA and it is banned,

please do not forget:-

"KAHE NANAK GURPARSAADI JINA LIV LAGI,

TINI VICHE MAYA PAAYA"

Please donot be rigid and do not make SIKHISM A HAUAA or

DRAGON from which a normal man starts running away. This

is a great path called GURMAT and is learned step by step

by reading ,listening ,adopting, following and preserving

( GAAVIYE SUNIYE MAN RAKHIYE BHAAO )like sweet for dumbs

"JIN EH CHAAKHI SOEE JAANE, GOONGE KI MATHHIYAEE"

and no body should claim of being a perfect disciple

(Pooran Gursikh) who knows every thing because who claims,

is always nil :-

"JE KO NAO DHARAAE VADDA,SAAD KARE MAN BHAANE,

KHASME NADRI KEERHA AAVE NAANAK NAAM VAKHAANE"

The stage comes at last however where one realises that

Gold AND Soil are same "KANCHAN MAATI MAANE" but this a

very very advanced stage where only a few( not every one)

can reach and we should not impose such a scarce quality

upon the new entrants and if we do so, we shall be asking

students of Nursery to adopt the syllabus of P.Hd.

WAHEGURU JI KA KHALSA WAHEGURU JI KI FATEH
