NOT Guru maneo dasam granth..

Guru Hai baani...yes?

Bani hai nirankar...yes?

Dasam granth is the BAANI of GURU Granth Sahib Ji...yes?

Guru Maneo Granth...yes?

so what is the plural of "granth" in punjabi/gurmukhi?...it is still GRANTH.

so we have Guru GRANTH, Dasam GRANTH and Sarbloh GRANTH

just a thought... :D

This also we NEED to DISCUSS.

so just to ask on the side of the ongoing prominent arguements. Mehtab Singh, what is your view on this??

Anti dasam granth people are trained in psychological warfare.

Who teaches them? lol

This is actually nuts.

Dalsingh101 ji

Nuts for you but not for others. There is something called sam, dham, dand and bhed in manu smriti. This is a long subject and you being ignorant of that may not follow. We can start a new thread for that.

But the subject post was not addressed to you. Let us not digress from the subject. You had something to show us about Dasam Granth authenticity question. Will you please let us know about that?

Well if nothing else this exchange has prompted me to undertake a more indepth study of DG. I will get on with that if okay by you. I guess my major question concerns when the Granth was compiled. Was it during the life of dasmesh pita or afterwards? I think I have the faculty to try and make a decision on this independently. We may talk of this at some later stage.

You are right in that I am unfamilar with manu smriti, I guess that is another area I must look into. All I know of it at the moment is that it codefies the Hindu caste system and outlines various strategies for politik. I imagine what you are referring to concerns the political tactics contained in it.

By the way I was looking at Guru kian Sakhian (which I think you believe to be accurate) and it clearly states that Gurgaddi was given to Shri Guru Granth Sahib and doesn't seem to mention

Dasam Granth from what I have read so far (see episode concerning the last days of dasmesh pita's worldly life). The section on the amrit ceremony also fails to mention anythig like Dasam Granth. Note that I in no way dout the bani that is used in the amrit ceremony, so please stop using that argument.

Right, regarding the issues you have with SPN, I will talk to other moderators there and I think you should continue the debate over there. I must say though brother, you have a very antagonistic style of debate that I (respectfully) believe you should change so that you can get your message across. May I also say that having made your argument, you let those who wish to believe - believe and leave the others who do not to it. Ultimately you should know that if you are right that God will judge each individual. There is no need for you to do it. If you believe what you do make your case and then let it be. You know you can take a horse to water but you cannot force it to drink.

Lastly, please do not be a one trick donkey (I don't mean that disrespectfully!). In addition to Dasam Granth, as a Sikh you should also be concerned witother really pressing issues in the panth. Such as drug taking, female infanticide, caste discrimination, the domination of the panth by corrupt people such as Badal etc. The loss of manuscripts and other heritage. Please, please, please devote some of your energy on these issues too.

I will try on keep an eye on any of your interaction on SPN ad will take on board any concerns you have fairly. I think you can probably sense that I am a level headed guy. You too , keep your cool in discussions.

Rabh rakha

Sri Dasam Granth was compiled by Guru Gobind Singh Ji. there is an account of a hindu who met Guru Gobind Singh Ji at Hazoor Sahib and asks a question on the maryada, and Guru Gobind Singh Ji says that it is written in Dasam Granth. I'll post up the account later on.

    • Umm, that's totally irrational, bro. There are plenty of prakash-dara Singhs in Punjab (less than we'd like, but still plenty). No one cares that you are sabat soorat. It isn't 1986. You can walk around in chola, kurta-pajama, or jeans. Whatever. If you want the look @dallysingh101 is referring to, just go into a cheap clothing shop (not a Western-style mall) and buy some shirts for 250 rupees or a track suit for 2000 rupees. You'll get the cheap stuff made in some sweatshop in Bombay.
    • The Mind is Jyot Saroop (Waheguru), but the mind is under the influence of five evils… Through Naam Simran( Rememberance), the mind will begin to detach from evil, and get back to its original form ( MANN TU JYOT SAROOP HEH)… Until the mind breaks free from the five evils, one will go through the cycle of paap and punn….which leads to Karma… Naam Simran destroys past karma, and prevents new karma coming into fruition… I did this, I did that… This non realisation of the Jyot Saroop gives rise to paap and Punn, which in turn gives birth to suffering and misery…
    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
