Guru Nanak sahib stayed at Baghad for a longer time during his visit to Mecca.Here he had conversation

with peer behlol who became his disciple.

The inscription is a testimony to his visit.

Swami Ananda's visit in 1911 was reported in The Sikh review many years back.He passed through Baghdad and saw the inscription.

He wrote a poem on it.

Swami Ananda Acharya's visit

In 1917, Macmillans published a collection of Swami Ananda Acharya's poems under the title 'Snow Birds'. In this collection there was a poem entitled: "On reading an Arabic inscription in a shrine outside the town of Baghdad, dated 912 Hejira" and is as below:

Upon this simple slab of granite did thou sit, discoursing of fraternal love and holy light, O Guru Nanak, Prince among India's holy sons.

What song from the source of Seven Waters thou didst sing to charm the soul of Iran!

What place from Himalaya's lonely caves and forests thou didst carry to the vinegroves and rose-gardens of Baghdad?

What light from Badrinath's snowy peak thou didst bear to illumine the heart of Bahlol, thy saintly Persian disciple?

Eighty-four nights Bahlol hearkened to thy words of Life and the Path and Spring Eternal, while the moon waxed and waned in the pomegranate grove beside the grassy desert of the dead.

And after thou hast left him to return to thy beloved Bharat's land, the fakir, it is said, would speak to none nor listen to the voice of man or angel;

His fame spread far and wide and the Shah came to pay his homage, but the holy man would take no earthly treasures nor hear the praise of kings and courtiers.

Thus lived he - lonely, devoted, thoughtful - sixty winters, sitting before the stone whereon thy sacred feet had rested.

And ere he left this house of Ignorance he wrote these words on the stone: "Here spake the Hindu Guru Nanak to Fakir Bahlol, and for these sixty winters since the Guru left Iran, the soul of Bahlol has rested on the Master's word, like a bee poised on a dawnlit honey-rose."

It is generally believed that Acharya visted the site before November 1914, and that we was probably led there by anecdotes from the local people.

The story Ananda Acharya relates in his poem is not found on the tablets in existence, and so it's possible that he either saw on some other tablets, or was told the story by local people according to their tradition.

This guy is crafty.

He hasnt denied that Satguru Sahib went to mecca he said theres no historical evidence of it. He then says that only muslims can enter mecca (as mentioned earlier, this is the case today, but wasnt true in the times of our Satguru Sahib). So here he is trying to say IF guru sahib went to mecca, this is only possible if Guru Sahib was a muslim.

He then says Satguru Ji escorted a muslim who wanted to go on Haaj. So, its like hes admitting Satguru Ji went to mecca, he has also contradicted him self, because he has said its not recorded in history, so how did he get this knowledge??

The sinner then insults Shiek / Bhagat Fareed Ji by playing down their holy bani by saying Bhagat Fareed ji was nothing special. he said Satguru Nanak Sahib respected Bhagat Fareed ji thats why his contributions is in Gurbani. He says cuz guru ji respected Bhagat Fareed ji, why would Satguru JI point his pavitar feet to the kabbah? (please note it was 5th Satguru Sahib that compiled the primal Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and included the bani of Bhagat Fareed Ji! ). He says we would be offended if a muslim today went to Sri Amritsar Sahib and pointed his feet there. This is very true... Most Sikhs probably would be offended but we certainly would not deny that it happened!

It is well documented that Satguru ji went to mecca. Its no big deal, theres no need for any one to wet them selves and lie over it like this guy has. As pointed out, its well documented in a number of sources least of all in Bhai Gurdas Vaaran. Many Muslims use this sakhi as a double edged sword....on one hand they deny this happened, on the other they convince uneducated Sikhs that Satguru Nanak Sahib was a muslim in one of their many efforts to convert them. On this occasion the muslim in the video has done abit of both.

The inscription plus many more pictures are included in Jeevan Chrittar Guru Nanak Dev Ji by Dr. Trilochan Singh. It is the best biography I have ever read. Like GPS said, these inscriptions are found in Baghdad where Guru Sahib met Behlol Dana who remained a Sikh for at least 30 years after Guru Ji's departure of Baghdad. Qazi Rukandeen accompanied Guru Ji from Baghdad to Punjab. Anandachariya's poem is based on one of the inscriptions he saw, picture of which is also included in the book. If Muslims really wish to refute Guru Ji's visit then at least they can allow Sikh scholars to examine all the facts. They allow other non-Muslims to make documentaries then surely they can allow Sikhs for the purpose of clearing the "allegation" against Mecca.

THis tablet is at the site where Guru sahib met Peer behlol.The city is Baghdad present capital of Iraq.

The language is Aarbic not Urdu.

The tablet was erected in 927 hijri that cooresponds to 1520-1521 AD and the date is written on tablet itself. The plate was by followers of Peer.

Sikhs discovered it much later.Swamy ji made trip to Norway on foot in 1911 and passed through Baghdad

when he saw the tablet.
