I'm watching the debate of 1984 on Sikh Channel.

I want to ask, how many in Panjab [sikhs] actually want Khalistan, or [names I think should be considered, Nanakstan, Gobindstan, Dasguristan] :s

Cos we are more pro Sikh than Sikhs in India and know a million times more than they do about 1984

What does Being proSikh have to do with Knowing the truth .

Being More pro sikh will only increase the chances of looking at things with a prejudiced outlook .

If organising pro - Khalistan movements is what you mean by being pro-sikh , then you must know that you are able to do this because the UK Constitution gives you the Freedom To do so . All the martyrs were born and bred in UK. It makes me laugh to see the way you quantify such things . Only a person who is evolved knows that he is not always right .

I know people like you and I weren't born in India. However, even though you weren't born in the following coutries you must have a belief on the numbers/answers to the following questions based on documentaries, newspaper reports and the History Books. Please could you give a number/answer to any of the following questions. Very Vague Estimates will do. :

  • How many people were killed in the twin tower attacks?
  • How many people were killed by Pol Pot's Forces?
  • How many Jews were killed by Adolph Hilter's Forces?
  • How many people were killed by Joseph Stalin Forces?
  • How many Sikhs were killed by Indira Gandhi's Indian Army and Police?Mao Tse-Tung
  • How many Sikh Women were raped, and gang raped, under the rule of Indira Gandhi's/India's Army and Police?
  • How many Sikh girls were raped, and gang raped, under the rule of Indira Gandhi's/India's Army and Police?
  • How many Sikh Children, Women and Men were tortured and murdered under the rule of Indira Gandhi's/India's Army and Police Force?
  • Regarding Indira Gandhi's/India's Crimes stated above, how many people have been charged for those crimes?

Banners were quite weak this year ,we need to go more on the lines of those on the 25th anniversary ,and plan well in advance by laying them all out on the grass like we used to.Every Gurdwara has to make sure they all have back up coaches what happened in places like Southall and especially Slough was that people got late or either left behind or arrived half way through - planning needs to be improved - so we can leave on time from Hyde Park!

Recordings of every major speech made at this years rally should be uploaded to youtube so we can continue our campaign ,as of now we either have to use mobile phone footage or old footage of previous rallies - for promos and educational videos.Maybe an official DVD could be released by neverforget84.com of the rally speeches.

Some speakers did go off topic in the Square - ie of the Freedom and Remembrance issue - we should always make sure we relate the Gurbani to the event so its easily understood by newcomers to the rally.

All in all base it more on the 25th anniversary rally black flags coffins and so on,Nishan Sahibs looked brilliant need a sea of them as well next year!

Some interesting points here.

I somehow disagree that sikhs outside India know more about 1984 than those in India, Its kind of like saying those of British decent living in foreign lands and have never stepped foot in the UK know more about what is happening right here and right now.

Also what do you mean about being pro-sikh? Are you suggesting that if you dont believe in khalistan then you are not pro-sikh?

one doesnt have to be born in uk or abroad to be a sikh/ khalistani... but its true that people abroad care and know the truth compare to india.. more parchaar is needed there.. but again one cant generalize...

i was born and bred in india knew nothing about ghallughara and sikh genocide.. i came to america lived in a town with very less desis learned about it from jaikara movement pamphlets.

I strongly agree that nothing will work unless Sikhs in Punjab realize on their own regarding grave injustices done upon them in past... happening in present and may will happen in future... Desi living abroad (like most of us here) can help by taking advantage of freedoms granted by their own countries to educate our brothers and sisters in Punjab.

On no basis anyone can justify that sikhs living abroad are more pro sikhs than in India. Don't forget there are 25+ million sikhs in India but few millions scattered in other countries. Also.. same type of problems exist in other countries just like in india (gurdwara wars/court cases, jatha wars etc..)..

Also.. I deleted few replies.. Please keep this thread clean.. Don't attack other person because of his id name.. Discuss issue on hand wisely and in more mature manner.

    • If relationship with Guru is strong, then kanga is done twice a day, and turban should never be taken off or put on like a hat, there is a lot wrong with that as it is against rehit! maryada is to take off every layer of turban/pagh/dumalla individually, and tie fresh turban each time!
    • the whole 'your husband/wife is chosen for you'/sanjog thing is real, it's just that a lot of people end up marrying the wrong person. they did not end up with the person that was meant for them. my friend, you should marry someone who you feel a connection with and love. there are millions of sikh girls, i'm sure you can find someone who aligns with your sensibilities and who you can truthfully say that you love. sikhi does not say anything against love marriages. you can also be in a loveless arranged marriage which is a safe option b/c both families are more inclined to keep the union intact. i was one of those people who was like meh, i guess i'll just get arranged to some sikh. well i finally started dating for the first time this year and i'm getting married to someone that i love and cannot even imagine leaving. i think it's better to have lost & lost than never loved at all. unfortunately, a lot of people confuse love w/ looks & lust. a lot of men go for the fittest girl they can find and think they won the jackpot or something. in reality, your partner should be like an extremely loved best friend. there's a reason why it's a fact that the most stable and long-lasting relationships started as friendships.  i also think a lot of women are petty and divorce over small reasons, but there's other terrible things like high cheating rates as well. that's why the divorce rate in the west is high. be careful out there.
    • andrew tate praises sikhi too & likes sikhs. his brother also donated to sikh families iirc. they just like any "alpha" religion and tbh islam is the most "alpha" in their eyes. islam is very good at promoting that image. but imo a real alpha man doesn't command respect by beating up his wive(s) or forcing them to wear a burqa. a real man will have his woman listen to him w/o raising a hand or his voice, and command respect by being respectful. he leads by example and integrity. that's true masculinity. you get the idea. + yes, it's definitely true that islam is growing rapidly and making massive inroads. strength in numbers + belief will do that. but rlly it's just because of the birth rate. a lot of them are muslim b/c it's their "identity" just like how a lot of young sikhs will say they're "culturally sikh" or whatever. there just aren't billions of sikhs who lambast their identity everywhere and have strict and linear rules like in islam. besides, the reality is that islam and its followers are some of the most morally bankrupt. you can see all the weird trans rules in iran, bacche baazi in afghanistan, visiting brothels, watching p*rn, p*dophilia what goes on behind the scenes in countries like uae & qatar, etc, and come to your conclusions. you can google all the stats yourself and see which countries do the most of these ^.
    • stop associating with hinduism, that's the absolutely worst thing you can do as a sikh. not sure if you noticed but the entire world looks down upon and spits at india & hindus, literally no one respects them and considers them weak and cowardly. literally 1+ billion of them but not perceived as a strong religion commandeering respect.
    • you wrote a whole lot but told us nothing. what exactly did you do wrong to make you feel this way?
