Look it is an infatuation which has no place in your life because you are on a much better path , don't lose your way he should be seen as a test of your commitment to Guru ji . You cannot have both; try to understand, to follow the guy you lose this janam, are you willing to risk going through lakh churasi joon which takes MILLIONS of years to get back to this human birth just for that?

No i am not ready for that...but how do i stop feeling heatbroken inside whenever i see them and when other collegues talk about them....what can i do in this situation...i know he isint right for me and not much of a sikh from the inside..but what is the best way to forget about him panjee.. ??

when you say he should be seen as a test for my commitment to guru ji.. you mean waheguru will see my commitment and that i won't be with a wrong sikh guy??

Thanks

you need to do ardas to Waheguru ji for strength to get past this test of your intent to Sikhi and listen to/read bani. It's not going to be easy and you will feel the hardship but it is miniscule, because the reward of Sikhi is a million times better than anything else on this Planet.Yes Waheguru knows your heart always, My best wishes are with you.

Penji is right it is infatuation, a crush, lust. You don't know him apart from seeing him at work. You have to think he is not yours, which he is not. Tell ur heart to be strong, do ChaupAi Sahib ji path for strength. Jealousy, (irakha ) is taking over.

Think with ur head not ur heart. You can do it, don't give up every time ur heart feels that.

Waheguru is seeing your control and commitment. Yes that u won't be with wrong guy and also you are being vunerable and letting feelings emotions (bhavna) take over.

It's not ur fault you are young and at that age where u go through all these mixed emotions, and u have to show yourself you are strong and will not be led astray as people can take advantage of you also.

Put ur trust in God, every time you get those feelings think you are a human being and so much more to think about and do instead of thinking about a guy.

Have u tried doing Seva? If u put ur mind in other activities and talk to friends about other interests that will distract u from him.

The thing is penji you are spending a lot of time thinking about him and her and u need to get out of that. What u are doing now is idolising him. It may not sound nice to hear but u got to think about yourself dear. You have a job and see you are doing something with ur life, focus on ur work, it's not easy him being there, this is the test though, you can do this, u can make ur heart strong, u have nothing to lose.

Why worry over what isn't yours in the first place? Why do u feel like this? Maybe it's a blessing in disguise that's why u feel jealous, Gods showing you, giving u red flags so u don't hurt later on.

Don't worry and relax, you have to learn as u grow and u will do it.

As a Sikh we must also never judge others... Something many seem to have forgotten over time... Its almost like we are no longers Sikhs of our gurus or SGGS but of the various baba's and translater/scribes. Immerse yourself in gurbani, let go of your worldy views, focus on youself and accept everyone as they come, and waheguru will be one with you! If you like the guy, go for it, ask him out, be confident in yourself and your beliefs, true strength lays in not changing yourself or your beliefs for others appeasement.

panjee, thank you for your reply..

whenevr i see him my heart beats really fast ...i think i love him...how do i stop this feeling..

he drinks a lot....i see him at work...so might see him a couple of times...

Thanks

I once read that when you meet the right person you're heart does not in fact beat fast or you do not get butterflies in your stomach. The body in fact remains calm. Maybe youre heart beating fast indicates it is something you want but not something you need

    • So, are you saying Guru ji isn't God? Or are you saying the British encouraged this belief?
    • Part of the problem is the hostilities between India and Pakistan. If the border were open, Amritsar would easily become a huge trading city. Secondly, the National Highways Authority of India is constructing a new 6-lane expressway from Kashmir, through Amritsar/Jalandhar/Ludhiana to Dehli which will be part of the Ludhiana-Delhi-Kolkatta Industrial Corridor.  Maps of the New Silk Road show Kolkata as a key part of the "road". The Punjab to Kolkata expressway and rail connections will fulfill the ability to hook up to the New Silk Road.  In addition, while crossing to Pakistan via AH1 (Asian Highway 1) is difficult, India does connect to AH1 on the other side, towards the East. Finally, Punjab can trade with the world via Mundra port in Gujurat. Rail to Mundra, then sea onwards. Dubai is very close with a free port. If you send products to Iran, there are ground links onward to Europe.
    • Yeah, that's one possibility. Another I initially thought is that it's a Muslim trying to gather info. But then, you might ask, how does he know about Sikh textual sources. Well, you'd be surprised at their resourcefulness. A final possibility is he's a weak Sikh who was asked a question by a non-Sikh and now he's suddenly feverishly wondering where it's "written" that you can't marry a young child. To the latter, I would say, you're looking in the wrong spot. Gurbani isn't a 1428 page rulebook, like Leviticus or the Vedas: ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਪੁੰਨ ਪਾਪ ਬੀਚਾਰਦੇ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਬਾਝਹੁ ਤਤੈ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ The Simritis and Shastras discriminate between charity and sin, but know not the essence of the Real Thing. Without the Guru, they know not the essence of the Reality, know not the essence of the Reality. Anand Sahib.
    • You're confusing two different things: One is merely adding starch to a turban to get a certain feel to the fabric. The other is tying your turban once and taking it off like a hat. It is this that people have a problem with. What's wrong with it is that Rehit says to tie your turban afresh every time. If you ask, "Where is that written?", it's written in Bhai Nand Lal ji's Rehitnama. @ipledgeblue didn't just make it up. Umm, no, bro. We're not evangelical Christians like President George W Bush of the US claiming to "talk to God" who told him to invade Iraq. "Speaking to him directly" basically ends up being doing whatever you feel like with the excuse that Guru ji told you to do it. If you still want to take your turban off like a hat, feel free to do so, but don't claim that it's Rehit.
    • You don't need to wear either a pag or dumalla in the gym. You can simply wear a meter or 1.5m small turban (gol pagg or round turban). It doesn't come off.
