If Waheguru set us a specific expiry date and we suicide before it, is that considered hukam of Waheguru or did we just boycott the idea of it?

There is no free will, becuase there is no "us" to be free in the first place.

Thank you people don't understand what it is like to live with these problems.

Lived it, bought the kurta, you foolish pajama.

Just don't implicitly encourage / incite other potentially vulnerable people reading your posts to believe the sweet release of death will be a solution to their problems, you devious snake.

Can we please stop personally attacking others? Just make your points, back them up with Gurbani, and get on.

You really should stop. You were warned once by the mods with your Deerhunter antics.

I won't post on the suicide subject as they could effect other people as you don't know who reads these threads.

For some time i will take a break from here. I have no social life anyway and no friends at all i was hoping to make friends on here but seems very unluckly now.

Thank god, at least you realize you have to be careful with people while talking on such a negative topic as suicide.

You see, people do not avoid you, it is they do not want to hear about suicide, as it is something which is not normal.

Have you tried to talk anything with people apart from suicidal tendencies? The main thing is you being aware of what you are going through, and you know that what you are suffering  is not normal, so can you realize, how electrifying is talking about is so lightly to others...

Just talk about Gurbani, Wahiguru, Guru Sahiban...or any other positive topic, not necessarily religious, and you will see how people will want to be friends with you, and with the time passing, relations can become stronger, friendship wise.

The thing is, if you realize you are going through a negative phase, then do not pour it out so openly, rather each time absorb some positivity from those around you for any reason, by listening them or talking to others on any topic, except suicide, drugs, lust, violence, or any such thing which is harmful for the mind and soul.

If it is not possible for you, tell others to read you some verses from the Amrit Gurbani, or listen to His mahima through keertan, which is all positive energy, with which one can fill oneself, and brother believe me, it is all healing.

Medicines can cure physical maladies, but brother His mahima, His vadeeayee, cures the maladies of the mind, where resides all our blemishes. No one is perfect.

So as said somewhere, if you have choice, choose the best, and if you have no choice, do your best.

If ever you ever need a friend to talk, you may count with me. I will do my best to be helpful to you in any way I can, but promise me, to start with, now you will try to not talk about suicides, but of living at His Lotus Feet, with love and devotion.

Stay blessed.

Sat Sree Akal.

I don't think you have realised just how many people have become your friend. I am indeed your friend and I will always be willing to help you. Just remember; Guru Ji is your best friend and Guru Ji is always able to sympathise with you even if us humans can't. I do understand what you are going through and the pain you feel about not being able to share your problems and it really hurts me to know that my brother is going through a hard time and I am not able to help him. I would suggest doing or listening to Salok Mahalla 9 and I feel you will be able to connect with the bani especially at the pangti: Dukh mein sang na koe. I will pray for you, and I hope you get better soon.

Hoping to give you lots of hope,

thanks everyone for your time and support. Today i didn't watch any of the nasty stuff i usually watch but instead i was watching tarantula spider videos which i must say look nice when they move around which is why i have changed my profile pic now to a spider.  I also spent more time with my parents today which was a change to be stuck on the laptop so things will change step by step.

Amazing bro.

At least it's better than watching suicide videos, watching spiders is not weird since people could take it in context of research or something, I don't know lol.

Are you practicing Sikhi, Singh? As in keep kes, turban, etc?

True its a step up forward with the spider vids lol.

Yes i am a full Sikh i keep my full bread, Head kesh and tie a full turban. I don't eat meat egg fish or drink smoke etc.

Cool.

I personally eat egg and fish but that's another topic which is disallowed on here.

As you gradually get better in health start adopting Rehat Maryada, start building it up until you feel it's time to take the big step, amrit.

(Of course it's your choice, just giving advice).

That's so good to hear! I personally have a passion for snakes because they too look beautiful. I don't watch videos of them lol but there's a really good TV program that I normally watch; its called Snakes in the City. It comes on Nat Geo Wild. I think the episodes are on YouTube. Try watching it, its really interesting. They don't kill the snake, they capture it and release it back to the wild far away to make sure it doesn't enter the city again.

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ke Fateh

Why shouldn't I kill myself?

I wish my soul never existed to be in this cycle of life and death. I feel like I don't deserve to be happy, and that Vaheguru Ji hates me. Why did He bother with me?

My eyes well up when I think of how much I've let down my Guru, and how I'll never experience Gursikhi Jeevan. I'll get worse. I feel like I won't get any help in my life because I am a waste. My Guru is disappointing with me. No one sees any hope in me.

I simply don't care anymore, I might as well add to my bad deeds by killing myself in every life because what is the point of never being happy in the life I am living?

I've messed my life up big time.

You haven't messed up, it's human nature to make mistakes remember that, and eventually everything is going to get better, whatever the problem is, you can't always rely on the guru, you HAVE to do it yourself.

Money problems?  GET a job, not trying to sound harsh but you need to reevaluate your life, PUT yourself first  instead of putting other people first.

Family problems? MOVE out, sometimes family isn't "family"

Education problems? Aslong as you can get a job and afford food/rent, it's okay drop out.

And  your feelings are valid, but suicide should never be the option, and if you kill yourself then you'll for sure never experience Gursikhi Jeevan.

Life is a gift from god, and if you're life was a waste then you wouldn't have a life in the first place.

You can make up for your sins, and if you commit suicide, then you'll die with those sins, pathetically.

Go seek therapy,  you're important in this life,  your self-esteem shouldn't be this low.

    • well I wouldn't know. Nor am I amritdhari nor am I married. But I would expect that love and lust are two different things even when it comes to physical human relationship. Right? Or maybe both persons in relationship have to be at a high level to differentiate between lust and love and act accordingly.?  and if we are on this topic,  is it not lust to use a natural mechanism, that is meant for procreation, to get the pleasure, and at the end simply pull out (sorry for being explicit). Is there a difference between making love and fu**ing?

Waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh as I'm fairly new to Sikh really want to engage with kirtan ,so I wanted to know if anyone know any places or teachers around Birmingham who teach kirtan on harmonium (vaja)? iv been looking for a teacher or a gurdwara where they teach but iv been struggling and I really have a passion to learn so I would be grateful if anyone could guide me  many thanks  ,sorry for mistakes  waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji ki fateh
    • One should remember that if one is a sikh of the Guru, and moreover Amritdhari, one's goal is to stay away as much as possible from the 5 vikars, and gradually with His bhakti nullify the mind, consequently the vikars. Our relation with Guru Jee and Waheguru is above any other relations. Why do not try and substitute kamee impulses with devotional thoughts and focused mind on the Lotus Feet of Waheguru. Give it a throughly thought bro... Saas saas simro Gobind. Try and love Waheguru. And you shall be ferried across the Mahabhavsagar. What else is then left to be achieved? Nothing.
    • Well I guess i would have to wait till I get married and see how it is then lol But I dont share feelings with anyone  not even friends or family Its safer to keep feelings and problems to yourself, at least I prefer it that way and deal better with it. There are some things I would have to share though.  Its difficult to open up with people, iv done it a few times and didnt like it very much. To much info out like that   I dont like it. And I dont feel comfortable with that.  Iv only ever once had a deep conversation with a female but that's because she had similar problems at home  so I just opened up as well    it didnt feel that bad  because she could relate.
