Bullying

At school all my friends have turned their back on me and no one listens to anything I say. I've always been nice to my friends but they just bully me and say I'm too weird to be their friend. Why is Waheguru doing this to me! I do paath and always help others. But now my life is so miserable! I'm a girl in grade 9. Everyday I cry and all I ever hear are rumors about me! No one listens to me and my mom thinks I'm lying! Is Waheguru listening to me? Is there any shabad or paath to help me? I feel so alone and miserable. I have restless nights because I'm scared to wake up and face another terrible day. Sometimes I wish I could just die in my sleep! I cry myself to sleep every night. Even when I do paath it's like Waheguru isn't listening. Please help me, what should I do? I have posted the same thing to another sikhi forum, I would really just like some advice. Thank you so much. Wjkk Wjkf

Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh

Am sorry to know that you are being bullied, kid there are some things which are part of growing up n schooling which is normal but some stuff should be reported to teachers, parents & counsellors.

So if things are getting out of your hand speak to your elder siblings, cousins. They might have been in the same situation as you are.

Anyway below are some links that will help cope

I understand what you are going through.  This happens to many teens.  You do paath and this is a very good thing.  Don't give up doing paath.  You repetively asked.....is Vaheguru listening to me.  There surely is a comfort in life knowing people respect and like you.  Everyone wants to be liked.  Its a common feeling.  I suggest you take a second and listen to the paath you are doing.  By this I mean, paath brings good feeling in a person.  The mind feels refreshed, alert to the Naam in your environment and an overall feeling of happiness; content with what Guru Sahib has given you by reading the shabad.  After doing paath, it sounds to me you still feel empty inside, sad and frustrated.  So what can you do to improve your experience as you do paath?  When you watch your favorite show or a movie you think that will be really good your mind is completely focused on keeping track of what happened, who did what, how it was done, how the plot was revealed, etc.  After you finish the show or movie you are again thinking about how great of an episode or movie it was to watch.  You tell others and really want them to experience the good feeling you received from watching it.  Now apply the same to doing paath.  Focus on what Guru Sahib is telling you with interest.  Capture the picture Guru Sahib is painting in the shabad.  Listen to the shabad repeatedly and read the shabads multiple times.  Pay close attention to what words Guru Sahib is using and where the pause comes.  Internalize the shabads or shabads by telling your mind over and over what Guru Sahib had said in the shabad.  By doing so, you will realize, you needed to listen to what Guru Sahib is telling you.  Guru Sahib has been listening to you all this time, but when Guru Sahib was speaking through the paath you are doing, you were not paying attention.  As you start paying attention, you will become aware of your true friends.  Each Gurbani shabad is your true friend.  They are always with you, when you need a helping hand.  They helped bhai mani Singh ji when he was being cut limb from limb. They took his pain away. They came to the rescue of Bhagat Naamdev ji and Bhagat Prahlaad ji.  So many have been helped by Gurbani shabads.  I understand you are in grade 9 and having a classmate to socialize with is a great feeling and helps with overall social life at school.  For now try not to think about it and focus on listening to kirtan and reading paath.  Gurbani kirtan is very strong and can get rid of unwanted feelings.

There are many shabads on youtube.  Here is one of the many that comes to mind

First of it important to tell teachers/ elders what you're going thru and your feelings.

Second, do you do Rakhia di shabd followed by kirtan sohila b4 sleeping? Do this with devotion then there will be an effect of it the following day. This effect will be for the better and will certainly last.

Is there any sikh organisation that helps kids like this? It's a serious issue, the way the child has spoken reflects the severity of it.

There must be a professional sikh counselling service?

I am in grade 9 too and I really understand where you are coming from. Even I used to be bullied and you know what helped me? Doing Dasam bani helps so much and you can feel the bir-ras in it. It makes you much stronger. I used to be bullied because I didn't do my eyebrows and I had a really light monobrow. It just shows how backwards the world is. I really recommend doing Dasam bani. Listen to it or do it. Its ridiculous how much I can relate.

Yes there is get a kirpan and slash it across your tormenters eyes and chest be a brave lioness of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and give them hell

That’s not wise advise. She will end up in jail for doing that. There’s other ways of dealing with it.

Are mods monitoring these posts? Why hasn’t anything been written for the above post?

I am completely fine now. Gurbani helped me so that's why I suggest it to everyone. To the OP I really hope things get better for you and Vaheguru answers your prayers.

I know what it feels like so I thought helping others will help them get through it.

Just remember it may feel difficult but when you look back it will just seem like a bad dream. The point is that bad times don't last forever, although it may feel like it at the time. Go through it and be patient that good times will come. Do plenty of Paath and Simran and Guru ji will sooner or later bless you with happiness.

Don't fail the test! This difficult time will pass eventually!

    • came across this by accident recently. the altercations sound similar albeit in different circumstances. basically my point is whitey wudnt dare do this wiv blacky cuz theyre scared of em. but they like to think they take on browny i.e. singhs n win. they c em as weak n a soft touch. sadly its true in most cases. too many singhs r no longer men anymore. tht includes the metrosexual flex who r well built like a tank but weak in mind like a woman. its dwn to us to make whitey n blacky fear us as well. we need to be ready to fight bk n defend ourselves. thts how we need to be if we want to ensure or increase our survival in the west or abroad. there was a time wen no one used to think abt messin wiv a singh. we also need to be firm/serious wen needed which is most of the time in reality. not smiley n giggly males. its unmanly n irritating to c. dnt think the family wudve imagined this wud happen to em. n thts the point. we cnt keep thinkin im always gna be safe, its never gna happen to me etc. thts a mistake waitin to happen to any of us. the wife n baby cud easily have been caught n harmed had the singh not taken it upon himself to say something. theres a possibility he realised his limits n knew then n there he was fighting a lost cause. we have to learn from this n make sure our own limits r at a threshold tht will help save us if were ever in the same situation. its been mentioned numerous times before but it needs to be repeated until more folk wake up n listen n make the change themselves.
    • the sikh pa family statement made by his wife who wudve been the only eyewitness to it all makes no mention of any kirpan bein used anywhere during the confrontation. but one uk news outlet is quotin this white supremacist lookin thug as sayin he was stabbed in the shoulder which is wat led to the chokehold. as if tht shud help his case. fact is he saw a brown man n lost control. apparently thai law is only 4-15 yrs for trespass n manslaughter.
    • No mention of his kirpan,  does anyone know if he had it with him?
    • if the article in the news is read you will realise the attacker was a white Norwegian by the surname of Bullman , the Singh fought with this guy who was a trained martial artist whilst he told his wife to pick up the two year old and run. Bullman was intent on attacking her too.
    • This poster is pigg headed.  No where does it say the attacker was white.  But this poor excuse for an human being brings race into this topic because hes a piece of <banned word filter activated>.  No one was blaming this pigg headed poster.  Yet this clown writes "Betty white" in a post and nothing else and on a topic of a Sikh man dying.  What the hell does betty white have to do with this topic.  Go get lost.  Racist punks like you are not welcome here.
