Should Sikhs be proud?

That's a brilliant exposition of the heart/spiritual aspect of Sikhi. But what about the aspect of it that demands courage, confidence, physical strength, reading (yes I said reading, Dasam pita's darbar had a lot of reading and writing going, on), physical training including with weapons, resilience, fortitude during dark times, not bowing down to serious tyranny - where life,death and even torture were a norm. That's a sort of social, political, intellectual aspect of it maybe. From the times of our Gurus.

you really don't get it at all, a sikh gets his/her knowledge from Guru ji's words and Guru ji's hazoori sikhs  not from their own interpretations
