Art is an expression, and they used the walls of their houses to express the creativity in their minds despite the limited resources they had and restrictions from society

Panjabi women put their creative expressions on walls. Their use of mud and colour has permanent impression on human mind although it is made on perishable medium. Here is an evidence of 1950s..jpg

Females also expressed a lot of the creativity through embroidery. It was still slightly around when I was a kid and women would put designs on suits, bedspreads and pillow cases. I think they used to call it 'kuddaee'. 

That's another thing you don't see anymore.

yeah they used to do that   i have some pulkari that my nani and my nanis mother made,   my mum said they used to start from scratch and make the whole thing.
