Fighting Coronavirus - Immune system boost

The government doesnt really seem to be giving out any useful information about how to treat coronavirus. 

But most crucially they don't seem to be giving advice on how to boost our immune systems to help us stop catching it in the first place. Or even helping us fight it off if we have it. 

It's well known that fighting off and boosting our immune system is crucial when recovering from common colds similar to Corona. 

We should all be making sure are immune system and general health is good. This starts with excercise and good diet.

Citrus fruits, lemons and brocolli bell peppers are great for our immune systems. Yet how many people have no idea and will instead following some old wife's tale and eating ginger and rubbing haldi on their noses in their efforts to stave on Corona.

Turmeric is a powerful anti inflammatory. Ginger also has medicinal properties.

Maybe that is why India are doing better with the coronavirus infection rate compared to other countries touchwood. because we eat so much ginger and haldi in our food. Forget about spending billions on a vacine lets all start eat more ginger and haldi.

On a serious note I noticed having vitaminc c foods reallys helps with my cold recoverys. If I ever get a cold first thing I do is start eating more oranges its always helped me get over the cold a lot quicker in th past.

India are actively suppressing the real case figures and deaths by threatening doctors on the job . Besides in that system poor people will never be counted in either case because they don't count for the politicians except on election polls . Like Murca /UK if you are not counting every case you are pulling the wool over the world's and your populations eyes. Scientists reckon USA's figures of infection are most likely ten times that reported . If we go on 1 peron to 3 infected ratio 2 people can infect 60,000 in just ten rounds of contact but the Cheeto in charge is determined for everyone to get it , to keep his mates' stock portfolio up

Popular to common misconception's, you can't really "Boost" your immune system but you can certainly help it by keeping it levelled off.

As I mentioned in the begiing of this topic. there is so much on not getting coronvirus but hardly any info from the bbc on how to keep health diet incase we contact the virus to fight it off. low and behold bbc answers my question in this news article a few days ago. finnaly we actually get some decent advice on how to boost our general health incase we get the virus and have to fight it off.

People should prepare to fight coronavirus like they would prepare for surgery by staying fit and healthy, say medics.

Experts at the Centre for Perioperative Care (CPOC) say a healthy diet will reduce the risk of becoming severely ill with the virus.

They say people should exercise, have alcohol-free days and quit smoking.

Such measures could make it less likely they'd be admitted to intensive care, says CPOC.

Its deputy director Scarlett McNally, a consultant orthopaedic surgeon, said there has been "a lot of very important advice" on how to cut the risk of becoming infected.

But there was "little on the importance of preparing in case the virus is contracted", she added.

CPOC is encouraging people to take brisk exercise, stop smoking, maintain good nutrition and mental health and have alcohol free days to reduce their chances of becoming severely ill from the virus and over-burdening the NHS.

People are also being urged to take action now to cut the risk of developing other health problems which could put further strain on the NHS.

   

   

Mrs McNally said people - especially those in a 'vulnerable high-risk group' - should be taking exercise, "so that if they catch the virus, they are less likely to need intensive care".

CPOC, an initiative based at the Royal College of Anaesthetists, involves medics from different specialisms working together on how they can improve the care and outcomes of patients having surgery.

Mrs McNally says its Fitter, Better, Sooner advice aimed at preparing patients for operations is "immediately applicable to Covid-19 infection".

She said: "We have good data showing that people who are prepared for an operation have better outcomes. Results are quick."

   

Experts in China, where the virus originated, "found less fit people with medical conditions were five times more likely to have a worse outcome from Covid-19; and smokers three times more likely to have this result", she added.

Prof Chris Whitty, the UK government's chief medical adviser, has previously warned smoking is "an additional vulnerability" for healthy people, and said now would be a "very good moment" for people to quit.

People are permitted to leave their homes to exercise once per day, either alone or with members of their household, under the government's current social distancing rules.


What is CPOC's advice?

  • Stop smoking
  • Take exercise unless you are unwell with the virus: ideally a brisk walk, cycle or jog. Strengthening and balance exercises are also recommended
  • Those aged over 70 - considered to be at increased risk of severe illness from the virus - are allowed outside, unless they have been otherwise advised, and should keep two metres from others and not touch anything
  • Maintain a good diet, including trying smaller portion sizes and planning ahead for meals
  • Maintain your mental health, including getting a good night's sleep
  • Have alcohol-free days

    • Been so much nindya and attacking Shastarvidiya since the 2000s, however if we look at gatka now it's still mostly as poor and poorly taught as it was back then, still morris dancing moves and still behzti moves in BBC shows about sikhi and vaisakhi. If people were going to attack shastarvidiya, wouldn't have made sense to improve gatka instead and make it more effective? Additionally, the Nihang Singh presence has improved greatly now, and the cracks within the the SGPC and affiliated jatha jathebandis are showing more greatly as panth becomes more knowledgable with dasam bani and itihas day-by-day, so much gyaan which was lost within panjabi sikhs during colonial times. In the 2000s, the groups were able to talk down this bani and  gyaan by associating it with  RSS and hindus, brahminwaad etc. Not working so well now is it? However with gyaan it would be also good for us to try and preserve our martial arts and keertan vidiya as well! More and more crazy keertan videos are coming out from jatha members that are being made fun of and making sangat annoyed and upset, on tiktok and instagram reels.

And if you have a medical condition, then exemptions can be made.  Just admit it, because of my medical condition, I am not able to follow this rehit. Why are you getting everyone else to drop to your level?
    • Wasn't Guru Arjan Dev's martyrdom on amd always commemorated on 6th June? How come it was 30th May?  Just like 6th June 84, where the likes of Terrorists like Indira Gandhi chose to attack Darbar Sahib where many many innocent Sikhs would suffer, as they went to commemorate Martyrdom of Maharaj. 
    • best thing is to follow the Sikh Rehat Maryada and use common sense for gray areas. Anything outside of that's irrelevant tbh that code is what Guru Gobind Singh Ji and the 5 Pyaare agreed on when creating Amrit in 1699
