I love listening to Keertan and Katha (discourse on Gurbani). It was Bhai Veer Singh Jee Delhi Wale's last evening of Katha at Park Avenue Gurdwara. I mentioned his Katha in a previous post. Bhai Sahib's Katha on Saturday was on the topic of "Nindiyaa" (slander). Bhai Sahib gave a beautiful description of what Nindiyaa is and how it doesn't have a negative effect on the devotees of Waheguru.

http://www.maboli.com/Sikh_HR/pages/docume...h_conflict.html Just click and read it or skim through it. It is kinda long. I picked up this literature at the Vigil in Sacramento for Operation BlueStar. And I found the whole thing on the net so I thought I'd share with ya'll. The authors, except one, I'm assuming are all Hindu writers so it might be an interesting view point to read. well, when u get through it, share some thoughts on it, is it a good/bad/ so so piece? is it accurate? I think it is, but I know some of you know the history better than me. thanx

Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh! My question is: Was Bhagat Bani that exists in Sri Guru Granth Sahib rewritten by Guru Arjan Sahib ji, before he added Bhagat bani alongside Gurbani? By rewritten i mean; 1. changing vocabulary, in order to make it more accesable for the Sikhs or other readers, 2. written new Shabads that do not exist in works such as Kabir-grantavali, or Bhagat Namdeo's works, by having the thoughts of the Bhagats in their mind [Guru Sahib's mind], and giving them the name 'Bhagat Bani'. That could be done in order to remove some of the matt-phed that existed amongst scholars/bhagats of that time, by later on answaring the questions that…

taken from gurmatbibek.com Principal Satbir Singh has wrote the following which describes a Khalsa's character in ਸੌ ਸਵਾਲ pustak. I found the following in SikhDigest In worldly speak. Sikhs have been down before. The ਛੋਟਾ ਘਲੂਘਾਰਾ of 1746 A.D. decimated the Khalsa army. Thousands obtained martyrdom. The ਵਡਾ ਘਲੂਘਾਰਾ of 1762 A.D. wiped out scores of families in just a couple of days; almost every Sikh was injured. However, within three 3 months the Khalsa Army uprooted Abdalis Army and sent them packing. Never in this period were the Sikhs spirits down. There were several reasons for their ever hopeful, ever forward looking and confident outlook. 1.Untainted Gurmat lifest…

http://www.sdstate.edu/projectsouthasia/Docs/index.cfm For those who like to read and arm themselves with knowledge, here is a link a friend just shared with me. It has loads of things to read up on. I am not authorizing any of it, so please feel free to check it out and see for yourself. You might want to check out the Laws of Manu (Manu Smriti) and Kautilya's Arthashastra (Chanakya neeti) to be able to understand the modes and mentalities of some of our foes.

WaheguruJiKaKhalsaWaheguruJiKiFateh Sadh Sangat Ji, daas was wondering is anyone knew any information on Akali Phoola Singh Ji's moustache. daas had heard that it was so heavy that he could put grapefruits on it. However, daas has read nothing that backsup this claim. Could anyone please provide a link, or any documentation in which it states the above claim. The reason daas is asking is because my cousin is having a huge debate that things such as this cannot be true, and that over time people just "jazzed" up and exaggerated stories. But please, try to provide any information to prove or disprove this claim. Thank you. - daas WaheguruJiKaKhalsaWaheguruJiKiFateh

5.6 - Nice Cup Of Tea Here's a little Zen story. A young man comes to see the master at his house, and says 'O great wise one, take me on as your disciple so that I too may obtain the perfect state'. The Master said 'Hello Sonny-boy - forget all that nonsense - while you're here pour some more tea in my cup - cheers mate' (In this version of the story the Master is a Londoner!) The disheartend young man went to the table and was about to pour the tea from the kettle into the Master's cup when he said, 'O master your cup is already full', 'the Master said carry on pouring , the lad did as he was told and watched the tea overflow and wet the table and the floor, the m…

"Perishable is all that you, O man, venture out of your soul to own. And without Simran, let me tell you, you cannot truly own yourself. Then up and gather the nuts of life, these hard things of repeating His Name and after death, you will know what great tresures you have gathered in the nuts of Naam. And those who have gathered other things, will find their empty hands smeared with soot. The quality of the soul shall determine your position in the universe, not your possessions, however beautiful. I have seen it. I ran away from this tedious task of repitition. But without it, without this symbolic act of love, I had no more passage into the Garden where He dwell…
