Waheguru ji ka Khalsa Waheguru ji ki Fateh! SANTHYA COURSE Cyber Sangat Jio, I was just wondering if anyone here has taken Santhya, from Taksal or any other group? Could you please share you experiences, and tell us what you learnt there. From what i have heard Santhya is basic Giani course where the Vidyarthi are thaught how to read proper Gurbani ('Shudh Ucharan'). Some basic grammar of Gurbani ('Vyakaran') and also meanings of Bani, such as Japji Sahib and Nitneem Banian are also given. I haven't taken Santhya, so that is why i am asking... So please tell me what specific subjects/areas you were taught. Do you feel that after taking Santhya you are able to und…

Dear Sangat, Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh! I go the Gurdwara many times and there are 'professional ragis' there singing keertan. Some people are listening, some are talking etc...But this weekend just gone was something else! No professional ragis sitting on a little stage, Young Sikh veerjis and penjis (non-professional ragis) singing Gurbani and doing Simran. They sat in the sangat and we all sat just behind them, which really added to the spirit of unity and singing Gurbani together. Numerous Sikhs took the lead and sang simple and beautiful Shabads, lots of Simran too. There was a big screen there too which helped to understand what we were singing …

First of all this meditation has nothing to do with religon, there are many Sikh vipassana teachers, many Christain vipassana teachers etc. I have a series of audio files so if anyone wants them pm me or post your email address (helps if you have gmail since its about 70MB). The Technique Vipassana, which means to see things as they really are, is one of India's most ancient techniques of meditation. It was rediscovered by Gotama Buddha more than 2500 years ago and was taught by him as a universal remedy for universal ills, i.e., an Art Of Living. This non-sectarian technique aims for the total eradication of mental impurities and the resultant highest happiness of f…

Just a question: When a loved one like your parents are in the hospital sick with some ailments and we do ardaas for there deh-Arogtaa, what happens if they pass away. All those paats and ardasan that were done where do they go? Are they useless to the person? Or should we be doing ardaas for God to give the person Naaam? Chardi -Kala? What kind of ardaas should we do for them?

this is an email i got from someone... how many of us have really earned the right to wear a kirpan? Waheguru ji ke khalsa, waheguru ji ke fateh Pyare jio, The current debate on kirpan started by Tv programme reminded me of a story I wish to share. Forgive me if you think it is inappropriate. A middle-aged Christian woman apporached a young Gursikh Amritdhari lad. She was a devoutly religious person, and interested in other cultures. She had an open-mind, and appreciated the wealth of knowledge. The lad was also devout to his father, Sahib Siri Guru Gobind Singh ji. He wore his bana with pride, and always wore a 8-9 inch kirpan, because he believed a kirpan should a…
