got this through a mailing list, ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Claudia Martins Subject: How can Sikhs help to put a ban on this horrendous practice ? Dear all, I decided to post this message to show, despite of our different opinions about 5 K's, Sikhs are truly a community of brave men/women concerned about human/animal rights. I got sick on my stomach reading what "observant" (Orthodox) Jews inflict to animals. As you see "blind orthodoxy" is an evil and must be fought until it's exterminated. Please read carefully and try to access this link : Defends Practices http://story.news.…

Okay last nite I happened to watch this movie called Legally Desi with some of my friends. Its another one of those movies that portray sikhs as dumb....the Sikhguy finds it okay to drink a beer and when he sorta hooks up with this girl....she tells him to shave and he hesitates for less than a second then when she's like can't u do it for me...he does it........anyways this movie was soo messed up....his beard was soo fake too but anyways there was this other singh in the movie.........it shows the singh watching porn and making lewd comments about foreign indian desi's etc........i don't see how a singh can act in a movie doing those things.....  .....…

I am deciding to take Amrit in the near future with AKJ, but I have a really big problem. If I take amrit I will have to do Sarab Loh Bibaik ( Sarab Loh Bibaik is the practice of eating food which has been prepared only by Gursikhs and to prepare and serve this food in Sarab Loh (iron) utensils, as far as possible.) No one in my family are amritdharies and they do eat meat and that will be unable them prepare my food. As I am only 14 years old, it will difficult for me to make my own food. So what could I do. I am a manmukh, I really want to take amrit, but this is a huge problem that I am facing. Could the sangat please help me out. The sangat who do help me than…

i just recently took Amrit while i was in india and on my way back to canada i had to take my kirpan off. does everybody have to do this??? i had a smaller kirpan hangin off of a thread at first and i wore it from amritsar to singapore and then after that the plane was going to land in korea and i didn't want to risk it so i took it off also. the reason i took it off was because in amritsar the security was making a big deal about nailcuters etc. i just want to know if anyone else has experienced this and i'm there are. when i got home i took a shower and did JapJi sahib and then did ardass and put my kirpan back on.

waheguru ji ka khalsa, waheguru ji ki fateh! i know i might turn by back on this post but i hope i can stay with it. well, to tell you the truth, the forums on tapoban.org, sikhnet.com, sikhsangat.com, gursikhijeevan.com, akj.org, 5knet.com, and other websites have provided me in the past with a lot of inspiration and upliftment. however, lately i have become embroiled in so many heated arguments and wherever i look there is just another argument and another debate. i think sometimes these are great because they show that we are having growing pains and people are working out their differences. but in other places they are actually establishing and solidifying their dif…

Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! Okay Sadhsangatji I'm a bit confused as usual, I'm confused because well I was wondering after some girl asked me "I heard sikhs believe in being equal" I said yes we do, and she said if that's so then how come your different from us? How come you have to be have a turban, and beard, and a kirpan, and a kara...and I said well it's apart of our uniform and and apart of my religion, and she still asked but your being different, and then asked why is that you need a turban or a kara in order for you to be identitified? how is that being equal? and I was confused and didn't know what to say...what are your thoughts on this?…
