Sikh leader joins Bush at White House prayer meeting Washington, May 9 (UNI) For the first time ever, a US-based Sikh leader was invited to join President George W Bush in a prayer marking the National Day of Prayer. ''The President personally thanked me for being there at the White House,'' Dr Rajwant Singh, Chairman of the Sikh Council on Religion and Education (SCORE), said. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, chief of the Bangalore-based Art of Living Foundation, was the Indian religious leader who attended the service. Dr Singh told UNI he met the President and offered his words of prayer and comfort to him as he was facing a difficult situation over Iraq. ''It is importan…

As a regular user of the forum, i am always on the look out for juicy topics and good exchange of sikhi related information from the other forum members. Considering the time i have been on this forum ( since the day it was installed ) my post count is very low compared to others. Thats because like the majority of the forum members , i like to read, more than i like to post. However i been noticing that some members, reply without thinking about what they are saying. This not only puts normal readers off the topic but also prevents others from making contributions to the topics. The topic sort of becomes un interesting. So a humble request to all the members from me i…

Cause of some situations, my life is in a little bit trouble nowdays. Above all, there isn't much hope left in the goodness of people. I know there are good people, but few, very few. In these times, Sant's speeches are what I find most inspiring, most satisfying. When I think about life around me, I alwaya come to the conclusion that there were no times better than pre-1984. That energy, and so may people following an honest and brave ideology. When I think about Bluestar, I feel most hopeful and peaceful. Anyday, I would prefer to be in that situation, I won't care even if I get US presidentship. That fight, those times of truth and bravery.... I am a new member to th…

Just wanted to share this with ya'll, expecially meat lovers.... Chew on This: Maybe It’s Time to Go Vegetarian Every year, more than 26 billion animals (including fish) are killed for food in the United States alone. PETA’s new video, “Chew on This,” sheds light on animal suffering and highlights many of the other reasons to choose a compassionate, plant-based diet. Not only does vegetarianism spare billions of animals from horrific suffering, it also spares your waistline. Simply put, meat and dairy products can make you fat, cause heart disease, put a major damper on your sex life, and destroy the environment. Need more? Watch “Chew on This” now at: http://www.gove…

i came across a girl recently wrote on the table "meesha kashb IKOMKAAR" i said to her, its IKONKAR. she said to me whats the difference. despite saying shes into 100% punjabi wearing these gold khandas (she acts more like a bandha), its sad she's also into hindu culture. when she moved onto our street, she had a havaan done. not a sat sang, but a havaan. she does go to my school. Sangat ji, theres a big difference. but surly you can tell me how in what way (other than the spelling)

From the book: "When Love Prevails, A Sikh Women Finds Christ!" ------------------------------ Now as Sikhs when we tell someone about our religion, we almost always mention this aspect of equality, but have we ever though about this ourselves? Are we really practicing it? If you are a Kaur, compare yourself to Singh and post what differences you find in yourself and in the way society treats you, likewise if you are a Singh, compare yourself to a Kaur, obviously not counting the differences which God created, but keep in mind the creation of Khalsa, the genderless Saint-Soldier. If you believe that Guru Gobind Singh Ji never intended to give Kaurs an equal role an…

The Most Difficult Test: Bhai Manjh Researched and Written by Admin www.tapoban.org http://www.tapoban.org/phorum/read.ppa?f=1...i=11001&t=11001 Introduction In the time of Guru Arjan Dev jee, there was a powerful and rich Jat by the name of Teeratha.
