Veteran day is our Day tooo.. We should remember those who gave away everything for our future ! Today in the Kohima cemetery, among the 1,378 grave markers, is the famous Kohima memorial with its historic inscription: "When you go home tell them of us, and say, for your tomorrow, we gave our today." (By Sikh Soldiers) BUT SAD NONE of us remember them, none of us (including me) tried to give at least a moment of silence of rememberance for their bravery ! They died and heavily got injured for us, for our betterment.. for our future !!! SO SINGHOOO Whenever next time u hear Veteran Day, Remember Sikh Soldiers who served for Justice in every major World Wars !! Sik…

Should a non-amritdhari carry a Kirpan? Many times I have thought of this question but I come to no conclusion. I have seen many non-Amritdhari brothers carry a Kirpan. I have asked them the above question and they told me, 'We carry it because it is one of the 5k's and if we can have the other 4k's then why not the Kirpan?.' This arguement is defonatly solid and holds water but what leeds to my confusion is when I then ask these brothers if they would use the kirpan if need be. The reply I get from these brothers most of the time is that, 'Im not sure Im ready to use the Kirpan yet though as Im not yet an Amritdhari'. This confuses me because if one is not prepar…

Waheguru jee ka khalsaa waheguru ji ki fateh jee This is a genuine question I want to know why the sikhs follow the caste system. The Gursikhs should not use their last name so that they can be recognised that they belong to this caste or that caste... According to my knowlege Guru Gobind Singh Jee has told us to use Singh as the last name for man and Kaur as the last name for woman. Then why to use the last name that suggests you caste. In the recent times, the last name has become a fashion or status symbol and which i think is wrong. I know few people who are Gursikhs and are very religious but they still believe in the caste system and i don't what to tell t…

waheguru ji ka khalsa waheguru ji kee fateh a friend of mine showed me an extract from a topic on a forum ..which i do not visit anymore..it deeply upset me, sangato plz do reply as i am a moorakh ************************************************* ...that said, I personally see no issue in wearing jewellery...sure the rehitnama says so, but is this the rehitnama you follow? Or are you simply picking bits and pieces that suit your stance (which for you is fine, not necessarily for everyone else though)... For me this ongoing "which rehit nama issue" is 'simply' addressed as follows...is the Chaupa Singh (or any other) rehitnama a timeless text like the Sri Guru (…
