1. Yep. Its too late for me and the wife. In order to get our full marriage certificate they made us sign to say we are Hindus who have had a Hindu marriage. For that, I will never forgive them. For the rest of their lives I will make sure each and every day is a miserable one.

 4. One day, Sodhi Harbhajan Singh jee (writer of famous book Bhajan Bandagi Da Pratap) was standing in a shop in Jabalpur that an English couple walked in and said fateh to him loudly. Harbhajan Singh was surprised to hear fateh from the English couple. Sodhi Harbhajan Singh jee started talking to them and asked them how come they know so much about Sikhism. Upon this the English gentleman told him his story as follows: """"I was a police captain in 1924 when the Akalis launched Bhai Pheru morcha in Lahore city of Punjab (now in Pakistan). I got special orders from the Inspector General of Police to crush the Sikhs. I told him that I could do so only if I was to be given the police party of my choice. At this he agreed and I hand picked the most ruthless and strong young men from backgrounds such as Lyalpuri Jaanglis and Jhelami Jaats. I took my police party to Gurdwara Bhai Pheru and surrounded the disputed place with wire and had my police party stationed there. The first Jatha started marching from Amritsar and slowly reached Gurdwara Bhai Pheru after doing prachaar (preaching) in several villages on their way. On the day of the arrival of the Jatha at Gurdwara Bhai Pheru I asked my toughest Thanedaar (Police Officer) to get me the list of all the members of Jatha along with their father's name and home address. That afternoon I got surprised when I saw the list. All Jatha members had listed Guru Gobind Singh as their father. I got really mad when I saw the list and swore at the Thanedaar for failing to get even the name of their father. The thanedaar replied that he tried his best but no one in the Jatha gave any other name for their father but Guru Gobind Singh. My wife who was sitting beside me mocked me by saying that if I can't even get their father's name how the hell am I going to crush them. At this I vowed that I will eat my breakfast the next day, only after getting their father's name from them. Next day I chose 50 stern and strong-hearted policemen and asked them to pick 25 old and weak members of the Jatha. I then ordered that let two policemen hold one Sikh and use whatever means to make them spit out their father's name. I further said that whoever does it first would get a gold medal and special recognition from the government. Hearing my order, the policemen started beating the Jatha members savagely till they got unconscious. Then they would bring them back to senses and beat them again. But none of them told their worldly father's name. All they would say was Guru Gobind Singh and Vaheguru. When they failed to get any results I asked the police officers to remove their belts and get the hell out of there. By that time it was 10am and I was feeling really hungry. I chose another 50 policemen and asked them to do the same thing. I asked them to use very severe measures to torture the Jatha members to break their resolve of not telling the name of their worldly father. I knew that if they admit defeat and spit out their father’s name, then they would also accept the defeat of their agitation. A lot was at stake. I put their hands upside down under the Charpai (indian beds) and made the police officers jump on the beds. The Sikhs were in great pain but they did not yield. I even made my policemen hammer nails in their buttocks but still we were unable to break their resolve. By 6pm I was badly tired and was extremely hungry. I lost all my pride and ego and felt totally helpless in front of those non-violent lions. I picked up the phone and dialed to the IG of police and resigned. The next day I took train to Bombay and went to England. I wrote it down on the resignation letter that no one should mess with the Sikhs."""""

 5. Well the common thing is coz they dont understand the following things (in my crappy opinion): 1)Panjab/Sikhs were/was/is of a seperate country before british annexed it (and we wud like it back) 2)They dont understand the lies told 2 sikhs by nehru/gandhi, and how sikhs cudda had khalistan in 47', but were sold out by "our" leaders 3)They dont understand panjab has been bullied and discriminated since 47' 4)They dont know that Indian Govt was planning 2 invade Harmandir Sahib TWO yrs b4 it happened, n jus think that bhindrawale was a "terrorist" coz he had weapons inside there (So did Guru Hargobind)! 5)They think it wont survive, coz it doesnt have coastal/sea ports (NEITHER DID MAHARAJA RANJIT SINGH, IDIOTS), but there r various khalistan maps drawn up (look below) 6)THIS IS FUNNIEST ONE - It WONT have a military 2 cope with pakistans invasion! LOL!! i aint even gonna go here, such is the dumb nature of the question! (But read the statement below) http://storerooom.wo...e-mighty-sikhs/ 7)They think ALL non believers (hindus/christians/muslims) will be removed from our lands! When in history (apart from partition) did we EVER EVER ethincally cleanse ppl out of our hoods'? 8) Khalistan wud be poor economically coz india will "refuse" 2 trade with us?!? Well 400m ppl in india live below poverty line, is it me, or wud khalistan (with its beautiful food producin lands) actually call the shots on the price, not its starvin neighbours http://www.sikhiwiki...f_Khalistan.jpg - This is the most likely Map of khalistan (Panjab/haryana/Himachal/Northern parts rajastan) http://republicofkhalistan.com/images/WEBSITE%20FRONT%20copy.jpg - This is one that i like, but unlikely (includes jammu/gang doab?/western Gujarat/Rajastan) (I apologise if i dont come across intellectual, im jus a person whos still learning)

 6. I totally agree with you RebelSingh but at least its better than nothing. Soemtimes we are our own worst enemies. You look at how organised other religions are and how they have PR and media relations. What do we have the same old washed out non-pr savvy panthic leaders. Unless we up our PR game and start to use the media we are always gonna be 2nd class. Lets start to put some intelligence and strategy behind our struggle for justice and awareness.

 9. PM Manmohan Singh is not a Sikh elected official and therefore he does not represent the Sikh Nation and his track record shows that he personally allowed for the promotion of 3 Butchers of Sikhs in Delhi 1984 into Senior Cabinet positions. He isn't going to do anything and as Bhai Balwant Singh Jee says, the Khalsa doesn't beg before a Tyrant and the truth is Manmohan Singh is on the side of the Tyrants...so in my eyes he's a Tyrant...so why beg before Manmohan Singh who is a Tyrant!!! The Khalsa are soverign and we need not beg before these dushts!!!

 10. Banda Bahadur, I am not the only one stating that, Guru Nanak/Guru Gobind Singh - Guru Granth Sahib jee is stating that too. Read this topic - http://gurmatbibek.c...ead.php?3,19645 My account name on the above forum is B.Singh. Besides me, Kulbir Singh also proves that only a Gursikh can reach Saachkhand using quotes from Guru Granth Sahib Jee and Bhai Gurdas Jee's Vaaran. Read the beginning to the end of that debate. Again, no one can reach Saachkhand without going through Guru Nanak Dev Jee. They can reach other spiritual levels but not the highest. Not even the Bhagat's reached Saachkhand without Guru Sahib; they reached Karam Khand until Guru Sahib let them through into Saachkhand. Guru Nanak in the form of Guru Arjun Dev Jee blessed them to enter Saachkhand.

 12. A must share document/link posted by Shaheed Singh Khalsa above, for those who want to see the evidence! I know what you mean about the word terrorists papidas. However it's been proven that the indian government's own forces, the black cats and the Third Agency, were actually used by the Indian Government to kill non-Sikhs. The black cats and third agency we made to keep beards and dress up as Sikhs to kill non-Sikhs. That's been proven and admitted by the Indian Government since, and more often recently. The Governments own forces were the Terrorist, the Sikhs instead were just fighting to protect their Girls and Women from being rapped and their young sons from being murdered by the Army and Police: Please see the extract below written by White Westerners!
The scenario for a disappearance case is familiar. Plain-clothed police officers or members of the paramilitary forces stop a man in the street (disappearance victims are almost always young men who are suspected of being members or having support for one of India's many armed militant groups), or they may pick him up from his place of work or his home. Often the abduction is done at night, but the disregard for the law and the lack of political will to eradicate these practices means the security forces are equally protected if the abduction takes place in broad daylight. ... Many cases of disappearances result in death, disfigured bodies found in canals, by railway tracks and roadsides are testimony to the cover-up of state murder that is so much a part of everyday life in some parts of India. If suspicion of the killing is successfully laid at the feet of the police, it is often denied or invalidated by one of two improbable excuses; that whilst trying to escape he was shot or that he died in an encounter. (Khalsa Human Rights, "'Disappearances' in Punjab".)
According to Joyce Pettigrew, "many young people killed have not been engaged in armed combat. They have been ordinary boys who have disappeared on an errand for their parents, visiting relatives, or while working in their fields, or who have been picked up from their own or their in-laws' home. ... Disappearances occurred primarily in the under-thirty age group. Some villages had lost more than forty young men. Sursinghwala in Amritsar district had lost seventy young men. Buttar Kalan, in Gurdaspur district, lost twenty. Each village has not kept a separate account of its losses. Erring on the conservative side ... it is highly probable that most villages in the Amritsar district would have lost on average ten young men." (Pettigrew, "Parents and Their Children in Situations of Terror: Disappearances and Special Police Activity in Punjab," in Jeffrey A. Sluka, ed., Death Squad: The Anthropology of State Terror [university of Pennsylvania Press, 2000], p. 211.) Patricia Gossman cites the comments of an Indian police officer who claimed that when armed conflict broke out between Sikh militants and Indian security forces in the early 1980s, "a profile was developed of who was considered to be antigovernment and pro-Khalistan. Based on that profile, young Sikh men between the ages of 18 and 40, who have long beards and wear turbans, are considered to be pro-Khalistan. Whenever the police receive a report from an informant or any other individual that Sikh militants have visited the home of a Sikh family, the police are dispatched to raid the home of that family. Pursuant to that raid, any Sikh male who fits the profile described above is arrested." (Gossman, "India's Secret Armies," in in Bruce B. Campbell and Arthur D. Brenner, Death Squads in Global Perspective: Murder with Deniability [st. Martin's Press, 2000], pp. 266-67.) The failure to turn up a sufficient quantity of young men for persecution and execution sometimes leads to the detention of female relatives. Though they are rarely killed, rape is common. "When mothers and sisters have been held in custody by the police, their ultimate fate unknown, not all fathers and brothers have been able to cope with the threat of what might happen to them and to remain underground to fight. As one old lady from Sabrawan village, Amritsar district, told me, referring to the many abductions of young girls by the police, 'In every village and each house there is sadness.' Hence, to protect their sisters or indeed some other family member, some young militants and their sympathizers have compromised and become informers." (Pettigrew, "Parents and Their Children," pp. 211, 219.)

 17. Khalsa Ji Taking Amrit does not mean that one can get away with immoral or deceitful behaviour. With regards to the come uppance there are people in the world who commit evil yet are healthy and prosperous , there are others who are angel like yet have illnesses and bad luck at times. It's all to do with what we have sown in the past. Taking Amrit is like taking admission into a school , one has to follow the teachings of the Guru. Taking Amrit is not the free ticket to do whatever one wishes , taking Amrit is enrolling into the school of Gursikhi. Whether one chooses to learn and work hard towards Gursikhi is a personal choice.

 21. You're meeting the PM and President of India??? How did you manage to do that? In addition to Anand Karaj and justice for victims of '84, I would add: - Clean up the drinking water in Punjab. It is contaminated with pesticides and it is causing an outbreak of cancer. - Give incentives for farmers to return to clean organic farming. - Punjab needs more cancer treatment facilities and drug-rehab centers. - Punjab Police needs to set up a narcotics division. If they already have one, they need to become more effective. Work with Pakistan to set up an efficient train service between Amritsar and Lahore. Make it easier for yatrees to visit gurdwaras like Nankana Sahib and Panja Sahib in Pakistan. Make it easier for Pakistani Sikhs to visit Harmandir Sahib. Open Kartarpur Corridor between Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan, and Dera Baba Nanak Gurdwara in India. Promote this as a corridor for peace between India and Pakistan. It will make it easier for yatrees to visit the place where Guru Nanak spent his last days, in Kartarpur.

 23. Sant Baba Jarnail Singh ji was having a discussion with a swami. Most of the members here have watched that video, but let's refresh everyone's memory. In that video Sant ji is asked what will you do if a baby is being killed. The Swami answer was that he will cry. Sant ji says i will not cry because the Khalsa doesn't cry, we act in situations like this. Sant ji says the Gurmat way of acting in these kind of situations is to fight the people who are causing harm to the baby. Sant ji also says, if my hands are tied and i can't help because I am forcably being held, then i will accept it in the moment as Sri Vaheguru Ji Maharaj's Hukam. Also from other speeches of Sant ji, he says if you hear Maharaj Saroop has been burnt then you(Sikhs) must go out and capture the people who did it and send them to Yama. The Buddhist were facing oppression in the video where the Buddhist is putting himself on fire. Also there is a story where a pyare(Sikh) came to Sant ji with the news that a Saroop of Maharaj was burnt. Sant ji ask him where he was. The Sikh answers i was right there. Then Sant ji ask him what did you do. The SIkh responds with saying i'm low (can't do anything). Sant ji respond with, you are wearing gatra and Kirpan, your a Sikh, so now wouldn't it be right to put you one fire? Sant ji says after, if you want to come to tell me something then first punish the dushts, then come to me and tell me what too place. So Sant ji would advise the Buddhist monks in the same way and not tell them to set themselves on fire. Anyways, this has been discussed before and Gurmat say it's wrong. If you want oppression to stop then listen to what Sant ji says and follow in his foot steps and not to do the opposite. Since the Buddhist in the video was the teacher of the monks, he is considered to Buddha (a divine teacher). For the Budhist the Buddha is like how Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaj is for us (Divine teacher, instead Satguru is higher). So to the Sikhs that think this act was right there is a question that arises. Will you go out in the streets take a Saroop of Maharaj with the PUnj Pyares presence and immolate Maharaj for a peaceful protest? You know what Sant ji says on burning Maharaj (I told you above and if there is doubt in your mind, then i can surely present the videos to you) so what makes you think such lowly acts are right? Surely not Gurbani could another religious teachings, but not Gurbani.

 24. Equality is a poor answer to the original question, the act of sitting on the floor is one of humility, like a slave sits on the floor of his masters house not just to eat, but even to listen to instruction from his master as well. Equallity can be sitting on the floor, sitting on equal-level chairs. But humility is sitting at the lowest level, on the floor.

 25. I got back from Calgary yesterday...the calgary Sangat is amazing...they are so Chardi Kala, they made us feel so at home, and gave us so much support...continous Sukhmani Sahib Paats, Simran, Kirtans...thank you. These three Gursikhs were some of the closest people to me in the world. I saw them all, almost every other day. They were more than friends/role models...they were like family. I Love them so much. It is really hard to keep in Chardi Kala after something like this, but what can i say?...Hukam...thats what Parminder Singh Ji would always tell us..."WE MUST ACCEPT HUKAM". I would like to take a little bit of time to tell you about what these Gursikhs meant to me...and to share some of our experiences together. BHAI PARMINDER SINGH JI I was very attracted to Parminder Singh's Sikhi when i first met him. We would sit one on one for hours on end at the Guru Nanak Academy and talk about Sikhi...he taught me so much. He had so much Bani memorized...one time we were sitting in a meeting, and i asked him "where does it say that a Kirpan must be Sarbloh?"...he waited for a few seconds, and began writng something, and then he slid it over to me. He wrote the actual quotes from Dasam Bani (or Sarbloh Granth) that tells about the importance of a Sarbloh Sri Sahib. I was so amazed!... He shared some personal things with me about his Sikhi. The kind of stuff someone tells you, but doesn't want you to go around telling people about because he didn't want people to praise him...he was full of Nimarta. But i believe that it is now ok to tell people about certain experiences he went through, because they are very inspiring. 1st of all..the amoun t of Seva this Singh did was more than people can do in lifetimes. In high school, he would go to the Gurudwara right after school and stay there till like 11 pm, doing Seva. He would walk home, sleep for a few hours, and ALWAYS kept Amritvela. One day he was walking to the Gurudwara at 2 am, and some white guys in a car started calling him names...he just kept on doing Simran, and then these guys got out of the car to beat him up. They came towards him, and he just kept on reciting Naam, and all of a sudden those Gorays all just got freaked out, started yelling in terror and jumped in their cars, and took off. I believe that there was Shaheed Singhs, or Guru Ji...or who knows...that were standing with him, and these gorays saw them and ran for their lives. This Singh was beyond words...its hard to explain him.....Parminder Singh Ji always kept Amritvela...when we went to Toronto to do a camp, sometimes we would come home really late from the Gurudwara/someone's house, and i would sleep in the next morning, but he was always up at Amritvela...i felt ashamed to wake up at 7 o'clock, but he would make me feel so comfortable, and just smiled when i was coming up with lame excuses for why i slept in. (not that he asked me or anything...it was just to take out some guilt) Bhai Sahib was an extraordiany soul...and i am glad that i have had the privelage of having his Sangat. BHAI CHARNJIT SINGH JI Charnjit Singh...he's crazy!!! I loved fighting him one on one, even though he would whip me...he is crazy at Gatka...we would talk till all hours of the night when he would spend the night at my house, he would tell me about his plans, we would watch Gatka videos, and study them, pushing pause and slow motion. He had such a crazy sense of Gatka, that he would be able to tell exactly what the guys did wrong, and what they did right...One night we rented 'Braveheart' and watched it while i translated what was going on...He loved that movie (well just the parts with fighting)...he was a true warrior...not only did he have knowledge of how to use weapons, he had knowledge of weapons...their history, history of wars, he knew sooooo much...he read like hundreds of books about Sikh warriors etc...he would talk to us at the Akhara for hours sometimes, about history of wars, and....jst too much, he knew more than anyone i know of. Whenever members of our Akhara would take him out somewhere (parks, downtown, science center museums etc)...he would always try to talk to little white kids and give them piar. We always had to keep an eye on him, and tried to explain that in Canada you can't just go around playing with other people's kids, because parents get mad...but he didn't care! he would always wave at them, and smile etc...Khalsa School kids just adored him, he was like super-hero to them. (he was a Super-hero)...Bhai Sahib was loved everywhere very much, he loved the Toronto Sangat, and would always be talking on the phone with them...most of the time when he got into my car, he would say..."do you have a little time?"...I knew what that meant: drive to Billa Fabrics cuz i gotta buy some more calling cards! RENA KAUR Rena Kaur...haha...FRIEND!!!! thats what we called each other...we just called each "friend"...we had a messed up sense of humour and people probably thought we were weird...but we didn't care. we would only call each other friend (example..."hey friend...come here"...or..."hows it going friend?"---"good friend, how are you?...ya i guess we were weirdos!)...we had a secret handshake that made her so excited when we would do it...one time we were doing it and she started to make funny little noises, and i looked up, and she was smiling so hard, and so excited that she started to breathe really heavy and was making weird noises!!! I remember i would fight her at Gatka practice, when she used to wear a ramal...and i would hit her on the top of the head, and tell her "if you had on a keski, it wouldn't hurt"... she was something else...so pure...just full of love..it just made your day when you saw her...we considered her like our baby sister. She was the most happy person in the world...i never saw her sad. In Gatka, when she would hurt (a cut etc.), she would get really happy, and be proud of her 'battle wounds"...she would always be skipping around, making people laugh, she put us all in a good mood. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Everything is God's Will...we must accept his Hukam with smiles...we all learned so much from these Gursikhs, they will always be cherished in our hearts...they lived a Gursikhi Jivan and accomplished so much...There is is just too much to say about these special people, but it can't be put into words...they spent their lives in Chardi Kala, were true Gursikhs, and i am happy for them because i know they are at a better place.

 26. KhalistaniGunMan: I visit many places on the Internet. I'm sure you do too. Gupt: I understand what you're saying, and I am shamed by people who come to a religion or path and misinterpret and/or bring their own ideas into it. I read once that before someone even thinks about doing things their own way, they should master the original way first. As Sikhi will take more than a lifetime to master, there should be no room for innovation. I get defensive when all white Sikhs are labelled as being part of groups which they may not in fact be part of. No body is perfect and although some white Sikhs are a bit skewed in their Sikhi, so are Sikhs of other nationalities (or skin colour if you want to call it that). We can only beg Guru Ji to bring clarity to the panth, try to share the Truth within Gurbani and set a good example ourselves, right?
