  1. Yeah, I've seen his interviews. To this day he hasn't got a single promotion due to not part-taking in the genocide of the Sikhs. Important lesson is if you want to be promoted in India, you should support the Sikh genocide or have some part in it.

  3. an excellent observation. also, i would like to add that indira also approached a Sikh infantry unit, which were wholly from a "low-caste" because she thought they would hate the "jatt Sikhs" and attack Darbar Sahib. But their commanding officer refused to carry out an attack on "his own people" and his "own gurdwara".

  4. Indira was like a dictator, minister were like puppets, always ready to please her as was the President ,Zail Singh. It makes it even more outstanding that General Sinha stood upto Indira. He sounds a bit like the Nawab of Malerkotla who advised the Mughal ruler against the execution of the Sahibzadas, whilst the Hindu Ministers were in favour of the Sahibzadas execution. You can put Brar and Dyal in their place. Interesting that Gen Sunderji was so blinded in becoming a Field Marshal ( highest army position) he was willing do anything and led the attack, on his death bed Sinha states Sunderji was unable to speak or write. He gestured to his face , meaning beard , Sinha took this as a reference to Bluestar. A few hours later Sunderji was dead. Interesting facts in this interview on how many plans were avaible to prevent bloodshed that should be publicised.

  6. 'Till the day I die, I don't think I will ever understand why Sikhs - who are firmly in the Sikh camp - refer to what happened to the Sikhs in 1984 as a 'riot'. These Sikhs need to understand that by doing so they are perpetuating the hurt and are thus almost as guilty as the guilty themselves. They need to understand that the Indians have a deliberate motive for calling the genocide / massacre a 'riot'. It does us no good if our people are too ignorant to understand that motive and join in with the ignorance. A nation has once had that same motive. A nation did once do the same thing. It cost that country dear. It shall cost India dear also. The Boston Massacre (or riot) of 1770. The British called it a riot even though it clearly did not fall within the definition of the word 'riot'. The Americans called it a massacre and because the British called a massacre a riot the Americans realised that the power that ruled then (Britain) placed a very low value on their lives. From that moment on there was no turning back. This simple issue of semantics spawned the American independance movement. Sikhs need to get educated. They need to to be well read. They need to understand how reading the classics will supply them with ammunition with which to win. At the moment we've just got Sikhs with really good intentions raising awareness of the massacres by organising exhibitions but cancelling out any good by calling it a 'riot'.

  8. With Guru Maharaj's Apaar Kirpa the Akal Design team is proud to announce iGurbani for iOS devices. This app requires no internet connection and contains all of the Sikh Scriptures. The focus of this app is to allow the user to accurately read the shabads from the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji following a revolutionary style of showing the vishraams. Instead of commas and other punctuation the vishraams are highlighed in a specific color. PLEASE NOTE: Since the Gurmukhi is from a new source and the database has been rebuilt from the ground up there are some errors that we could not catch during development. We are going to rely on the Sangat to help us identify and correct those errors. Scriptures 1. Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji 2. Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji 3. Bhai Gurdas Ji Vaaran 4. Bhai Nand Lal Ji Translations ENGLISH - Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa - Bhai Manmohan Singh Ji OTHER TRANSLATIONS - SGGS Darpan (Prof. Sahib Singh Ji) - Bhai Manmohan Singh Ji - Faridkot Teeka VISHRAAM - Baba Darshan Singh Ji (Mallehwal) - Baba Jaswant Singh (Bhagat Ji) For more information please visit http://www.igurbani.com/about. 9. Several organisations working for the betterment of the Sikh community in Delhi today said a mobile photo exhibition of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots would be inaugurated at Jallianwala Bagh on November 1. It would reach Sultanpur Lodhi on October 24, Jalandhar on October 25, Ludhiana on October 26, Anandpur Sahib on October 27 and Chandigarh on October 28. A seminar on “Effective legislation against communal and sectarian violence" would be held on November 4, said senior advocate of the Supreme Court HS Phoolka. He said the photo exhibition and the seminar were being organised to pressurise the government into punishing the guilty as not one accused in the anti-Sikh riots had been convicted. He said there were only five cases being heard by courts, the rest having been dismissed for want of evidence or witnesses.

  12. It depends on what topic you want to search for. When it comes to Pargat Divas of Guru Sahib, I would say Bhai Bala Ji's Janamsakhi is correct. When it comes to Guru Sahib influencing bhagats, Meharbaan's Janamsakhi is more informational and authentic. All Janamsakhis have mistakes but important information as well. Vilayat and Hafizabad etc are the same in content. Puratan Janamsakhi edited by Bhai Veer Singh Ji is held as the most authentic of all. Guru Rakha

  13. Beautiful documentry - the Sevadar ji appears very polished. Is the sandal wood Chaur Sahib of Hajji Maskin still part of the Toshakhana or was it destroyed in 1984? I have never seen any contempory pictures of it, but have only read about it. As far as I am aware, as it has never been used by anyone before its presentation to the Harmandir Sahib, it should form part of the jalau in the Durbar Sahib itself on such days when jalau is displayed, but its never there. What else was destroyed or looted? The jalau articles that are displayed comprise of only a few puratan treasures and it is difficult to believe that there was not much more, given the bounties our past Sardars and Rajas collected and according to history donated.

  14. you would have got your answers if you had done some research or simple reading into modern sikh history. Sant Jarnail Singh was in the Golden Temple as part of the Dharam Yudh morcha, as were all the Akali Leaders. They were there for a specific purpose. As events unfolded, it became impossible for Sant Ji to leave, and even further down the line, it was wiser that he hadnt left, as indira had already made up her mind to attack the Sikhs with the indian ravan sena. As for the Golden Temple not being a place for fighting wars, i would really recommend that you read Sikh history.

  15. The simplest answer is he didnt use it as a sanctuary, the attack was pre-planned, i think a whole year before they actually attacked. He was protecting it.

  17. Source: heard it during santhiya session There was a couple. The wife went to work, while husband stayed home. One time the wife came home and the husband heard two sounds of footsteps. He went to see and saw noone but it seemed like the sound of footsteps followed her. He got spooked and started doing Mool Mantar out aloud and when he entered the room, where his wife was. He saw a boy with fire burning around his face. The boy said please keep reciting I find peace. The wife was scared and said who are you, how did u get here? The boy answered, "I was a Sikh like you, but go into bad sangat, got really depressed, and me and some other Sikhs decided to commit suicide together. We jumped off the bridge, and died.(it happened at a bridge famous in canada for commintting suicide.) Ever since then, we've been burning and it is so painful. But ur wife stopped at the bridge and she had this going on in her car. So i followed her to listen to it. It is soothing, it is the only thing that stops the fire. (I forget the ending. I think the Bhooth was exorcised, or its kalyaan was done with sehaj paath, or the story ends there...........don't remember sorry).

  18. WJKK WJKF, Sangat ji I had a really quick question. Haven't posted on here in a while due to some personal issue that I was trying and still trying to deal with. Anyways, I was reading the Hukamnama from Harmandar Sahib today and read the translation as well but I'm still not understanding what it is saying. Can anyone translate it to me so I can understand it better? Thanks a lot!

  20. Who has won and who has lost? Gen. Brar who is in his 70s and looks like his eyes will pop out of his head. He obviously has nightmares and relives that day day and day again and is scared for his life, but he got promoted and honored by India. On the other hand General Sinha's jameer hadn't died and did not care for pleasing anyone but his own jameer and has his conscious clean to this day. 86 year old happy man. Respect.

  21. The same goes for Bluestar. It may be Operation Bluestar for Indians, but for Sikhs its Saka Neela Taara or Ghallughara. Operation is when you perform a surgery to remove a tumor. GOI saw the Singhs as tumors, and Sant Jee as a Star in a Blue turban, thus the name Operation Bluestar.

  22. Ah yes but you see...the power of words. Why write a simple paragraph that contains only the simple information you thought you wanted when you can include in it the free sociology and history lesson you didn't even know you wanted ? Words. More powerful than machine guns, tanks and anti-aircraft missiles. This war we're in right now...with India...will not be won and lost with AK47 assault rifles or swords. The ones who are better with words will win this battle. Unlike bullets you will not run short of ammo by using too much of them and just like guns you need to practice using them frequently so you'll be ready to use them when needed. Words. The most powerful weapon the western born and western educated Sikh diaspora have against the ignorant Indians. But yes I take your point. It would have sufficed simply to state that the 2 Indian govt agent ex-mayors and councillors of Leamington are pictured in their silly costumes because they wish to give the illusion of authority when in actual fact the only authority they ever had was being able to cut the ribbon for the openings of new leisure centres. Sufficed. But not half as interesting.

  25. A time will come when history will be re-written like it always is. Think of it this way, the Mughals called our Guru Sahibaan and Puratan Shaheed Singhs as "rebels", the British called Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Shaheed Udham Singh as "extremists", and the GOI calls Jujharoo Singhs as "terrorists". The tables will turn, they have to. Truth always prevails.

  27. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh ji I saw this post couple days back and were searching left right centre for a glimpse of the Chandan Chaur Sahib but to no avail until now. I was actually searching for close ups of the Akal Takht interior and found this beauty. Look closely These photos were taken in August 2011. So to answer your question, yes the Chandan Chaur Sahib is still a part of the Toshakana. Enjoy, cherish and share such rare images.

  28. It's quite a tricky situation for the Punjab politicians. The funniest part was: Host: Is there terrorism in Punjab? Akaali Dal Politician: No. Host: In the past 4 years, 170 people have been arrested with links to terrorism. Does that not bother you? Akaali Dal P : Yeah, see!? Who's done that? Our Government has been trying the best to curb terrorism. Host: So, you do agree that there are terrorists in Punjab. Akaali Dal P : Ummm... Honestly, I agree with the anchor. Our politicians should take a stand as to whether Bhai Jinda and Bhai Sukha were assassins or martyrs. There is no point in being left dangling in between. The SGPC and Akaali Dal are not really considered very 'panthic' by us Sikhs...and now the mainstream Indian media has doubts on their patriotism towards India. Simply goes to show their very double-faced strategies and their insecurity about vote-banks. Although, I do applaud Bibi Kiranjot Kaur for bringing up the example of Pandit Nehru's remarks about Shaheeb Udham Singh before and after India's independence. The looks on every one's faces after listening to this was priceless! They couldn't speak anymore for a couple of seconds and seemed pretty shocked!

  29. What else was destroyed or looted? Many sacred manuscripts were either destroyed or looted during operation bluestar with the burning of the Sikh Reference Library. Many puratan (old) handwritten copies of sri Guru Granth Sahib were collected at the Sikh Reference Library post 1947. Some of these saroops were said to be written by Sikhs of Guru Sahib. I have read that the library contained over 400 saroops. However knowbody knos to date whether they were looted and stored by the Indian government or shaheed (burnt in fire). The SGPC has not done enough in regards to finding the truth behind what happened. The SGPC should be continuously pursuing the Indian government in regards any items that were looted. Saying this however, what can we expect from to receive from the same Government that carried out this horrible attack. We still have not yet received justice for victims of 1984. The scars of 1984 are still fresh in the Sikh hearts. So many crimes were committed by individuals who are have not recieved any punishment in this world. However, we will all have to face Dharam Rai in the next world in the true court. There is no hiding there, justice will be done. Satguru Mehar Karan. Panth nuu chardi kala baksho.

  30. Whole point of sava lakh patth is to first start with jaap(Audible) as birthi/surti becomes more subtle and subtle, one starts doing sava lakh patt with mind instead of doing with tongue, moving towards ajapa jap avastha. If your throat start hurting, then i suggest you start doing sava lakh patt with mind (reading it internally within mind).

  31. you could try just moving the tongue and mouth but not using your voice. or doing it silently in your mind. if concentration is a problem try switching between these so you can rest your voice. you can also google methods used by opera singers to keep their voice in good condition and adopt some of those methods.

Average man of any faith isn't anyone's enemy, he is just trying to put food on the table for his family, that's all. It's fanatics like RSS, Taliban, KKK, etc. that we all need to comdem, not the common man! PLEASE let's learn to respect!
