  1. Just look at the jeevan of our most beloved 20th century mahaan sant sipahi, Sant Baba Jarnail Singh Jee Khalsa Bhindranwale. People talk about how much soorma jujhaaroo he was, they forget how much kamaaee he had. 22 hours of Nitnem a day, more than 1 sehej paath completed each month. He was 1st a pooran Sant and then a jujharoo sipaahi. Several other Gursikhs were the same.

  2. as you can see, one of the miri piri nishan sahibs is slightly taller than the other. the tall one represents being a sant, the smaller one soldier. so a saint is more important than a soldier. although both are needed for a sikh

  3. That is contrary to Gurmat. Bhai Gurdas jee mentions a sakhi where the Singhs actually wanted to mistreat a Muslim bibi, but Dasmesh Pita jee clearly stated that His Khalsa was to have a pristine and spotless reputation and character. A Sikh, from what I know so far, is to be a saint+soldier, sant-sipaahi, and a saint before a soldier actually.

  4. Exactly just like It's from sant aspect of one's life(dya, sat, santokh, gyan, advait, bhramgyan, sam dristhi, satogun) sipahi is born not the other way around.. sipahi spirit in sikhi should be born, properly controlled, preserved and nurture from sant spirit not from sheer tamogun(raw warrior spirit)..sheer tamogun makes one rakshash(ruthless killers/murderers/extremist/terrorist/rapist etc) and khalsa is none of them......!!!!

  6. Great pic. Sri Akaal Takhat Sahib is also faced slightly at an angle so it can see Harmandir Sahib, but Harmandir Sahib doesn't see Akaal Takht Sahib (something like that). Gurcharanjit Singh Lambha spoke about it, but I don't completely remember exactly what it was.

  7. This wasn't handled properly, it should have been done according to Gurmat and not in haste/violence. Getting riled up and acting in haste will only hurt the cause you're trying to bring justice to. This is the 21st century and now, more than ever (as it always has been), it's important to realize mere intentions isn't good enough. You have to be intelligent, calm, cool and should think through your actions., Want to channel that "energy", go find those two fake gianis and beat the living crap out of them

  8. We wholly respect and support the work of "The Widow Colony" film, however we do not share the same aims and objectives. The first aim of Seva84 is to save the current and future generations in all colonies from a continued cycle of suffering, which are not only due to the traumas of genocide, but also neglect. Seva84 aims to implement infrastructures to support the physical and mental health of the residents, and ensure all young people can continue their education with no financial / health / family hindrances. We would like to promote Gursikhi and take on the drugs and crime issues which are rampant, particularly at Tilak Vihar. Seva84 would like to employ specialists (in the fields of psychology etc) in Tikal Vihar, as it appears none of the victims have received any psychological assessment since the genocide to date. In fact, in the documentary (which is now on halt due to funding issues), we plan to include a widow, who has only recently come accept that her husband died in November 1984. Seva84 avoids making cash payments to families that are capable of working as this feeds the poverty. In cases where cash payments are made, this would only happen after an assessment is carried out and it is clear that finance is needed for a specific purpose or in order to sustain a living. Generally, regarding health issues, payments are made to health institutions and receipts are obtained rather then giving families cash payments. In summary, we do not want to see any future generations falling victim to drugs and crime. Seva84 strives to support the victims of 1984 to ultimately make them self sufficient and capable of fighting their ways out of poverty. We can only do this with your continued support. http://www.justgivin...va84documentary

  12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8UcwMBwfAE This film can only be made with sangat's support http://www.justgivin...va84documentary Seva84 (reg. Charity 1147843) is commissioning a high profile, professionally produced documentary specifically highlighting: - The November 1984 Sikh Genocide - The Drug and poverty related problems within the colonies where victims of 1984 are now living This documentary will be part of a wider international documentary which aims to: - Raise global awareness to an audience beyond the Sikh community by communicating to the world that Sikhs in India suffered genocide during November 1984. - A documentary of this nature is likely to encourage non government organisations to reach out and develop a partnership with Seva84, to improve the standard of living (largely for those directly affected by the Genocide, which includes their families). We would like to ensure that the newer generations are not reliant on support, as our main aim is to enable the residents of the colonies to be self sufficient, to an extent that they are able to independently maintain an improved standard of living that is above the poverty line. This can only be done with your help. To support the making of the Documentary Film: http://www.justgivin...va84documentary to support our projects to help combat drugs and crime, and to promote health, education and Gursikhi please set up monthly donations at: www.seva84.com/donate **if you would like Seva84 to claim gift aid on your donations please email contact@seva84.com** http://www.justgivin...va84documentary

  17. Email not displaying correctly? View it in your browser. Candle Light Vigil 2012 Saturday 3rd November 2012 15:00 - 18:00 Victoria Square (Outside the Town Hall) Birmingham, UK 28 years ago this month the largest democracy in the world, predicted to soon become a world superpower partook in nationwide slaughter and terror of one if it’s most loyal minority groups - the Sikhs. Thousands of Sikhs were set alight, raped, terrorised and hunted down in a state organised massacre. Yet to this day only a handful of people have ever been tried for these crimes and the main orchestrators of the massacres not only walk free but have been rewarded for their brutal actions through political power and prestige. For the Sikhs lucky enough to survive the 1984 massacre, the memories and scars are as fresh as if the horrific events occurred yesterday. Many – living in gross poverty want little else than justice. Yet it is the one things that seems to elude them the most. The Sikh youth of the UK will congregate at Chamberlain Square in Birmingham City Centre on Saturday 3rd November from 3pm to 6pm. A collective effort will be made to highlight the injustice and suffering endured by the Sikhs in their so-called “homeland.” Let us show them that we have not forgotten their pain. Let us get together and show the world that these massacres cannot be forgotten. See you there and please do spread the word. Thank you Birmingham Candle Light Vigil Promo for Sikh Genocide.wmv

  19. the names of the panj pyare show it too. Bhai Daya Singh, Bahi Dharam Singh, Bhai Himmat singh, Bhai Muhkam Singh, Bhai Sahib Singh so first daya or love and compassion, then dharam a righteous living, and then courage, then a leader, and then last is sahib or master. so first love compassion and understanding is needed, not be a ruler and master or soldier first and then try for being a compasionate person, only a sant can give the 1st qualities.

  20. Do you think smashing someones windows will really make them listen to you? The sarkars that tried to finish Sikhs be it mughal, or Indian tried to use violence to stop sikhs from speaking out. did it work? no, not really. The end of the mughals was with the use of guru gobind singh ji's pen. The use of violence should be a LAST RESORT. Hitting someone and breaking their things in most cases wont work, the wedding still went ahead. maybe try smash the comitee up, stop them agreeing to weddings.

  21. The architecture of Sri Harmandir Sahib and Sri Akal Takht Sahib in itself is a teaching. You can always see Sri Harmandir Sahib from Sri Akal Takht Sahib, but NOT vice versa. Point was that when you do bhagti, you shouldn't focus on shakti. But when you are having shakti in your hands, you shouldn't lose your bhagti.

  23. The Widows Colony documentary never got the global exposure it deserved. Partly blame the production company for holding a too tight hold on the distribution rights. This documentary is highly likely to gain global exposure as it's distributed as part of the objectives of Seva84, I have seen some more of the footage and am convinced that the documentary will raise the profile of the aftermath of November 84 as well as the severity of the what happened to the mainstream. It might be 28 years too late, but at this stage we so desparetly need to archive the testimonies and emotions of the victims whilst they are still alive. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8UcwMBwfAE http://www.justgiving.com/Seva84documentary

  24. n30singh and kaljugi..........you seem to both be confusing Sikhism with Jainism and Ghandism. If its a quiet little, timid little, hidey-in-the corner little, fadey-in-the background little, keepey-mouthey shut little, don't makey fuss little pacifist type religion you're looking for can I recommend the Quakers ? It doesn't have to be the quakers but what you're both saying certainly doesn't fit in with being a Sikh. Actually I'm surprised at you Kaljugi. Not so surprised with n30singh though. I've long held the belief that the man will one day join some sort of meditation cult. He or she has long given the impression of being very attuned with the sant aspect of Sikhism but extremely uncomfortable with the sipahi aspect. Someone here said he should be made jathedar. I say certainly not as that day will be the day that Sikhism turns into a religion of timid hermits hiding away on top of mountains to meditate. I dunno who smashed the family's windows but, by all accounts, they seem to be a family who have been begging to have their windows smashed for a while now. Surely they must of realised that their getting windows smashed behaviour would one day lead to them getting their windows smashed ? If not, then they would deserve to get their windows smashed for being so damn stupid.

  25. Yep, taking our cues from hot-headed elements of the Islamic community is absolute madness. Oh well, I guess it's been coming for a while now. Like I said a few months ago we're living up to expectations and fulfilling the role carved out for us by our enemies. The fact that none of these guys can see the end-game and the manipulations being cultivated by our enemies speaks volumes. Our ill-wishers line up the shot and we step up and hit it out of the park. Strap yourselves in for the ride, Singhs and Singhnis, it's going to be a bumpy ride. A bit like when you're driving from Delhi airport to your respective pinds in Panjab. Although, absolute shame on the Gurughar committees for not having the balls to do their job and enforce maryada. Their inaction ferments this kind of behaviour.

  26. Whilst agreeing with scenarios that there could be possiblity of relative smashing windows/communist type to make us looks extermist etc but equally there is quite bit of possiblity of low level street mobs/south hall rude boyz types who hide behind sikhi garb - find some cause use sikhi bana as platform to lash out violently against anyone who does not agree with them, but most importantly the later is already reported in national media - BBC outlet said it was work of sikh extermist, and there is nothing we can do to change that news except condemn the violence collectively as sikh community if not for wider khalsa ethics do it for sake of damage control. We need to learn from muslim community mistakes, lack of condemnation in their community against extermist/fanatics elements in their community who were hijacking their dharam, landed them in lot of hot water in the media and media attitude towards muslims at larger is pretty evident and for everyone to see. And we are happily falling same traps then we wonder why media is so bias against us? Gee i wonder, when we have leaders walking around like arrogrant fools with sense of entitlement without condemning anything- what you think its going to happen? Each one of us who follow actually guru maharaj sikhi sidhant which is truly against senseless violence against innocents by oppressors/ extermist, needs to get up and say- these fools who use violence against innocent don't represent us or our community- nail these hooligans to the wall. They can take their low level mob mentaliy and their loyalty back to violent black rappers. They don't represent sikhs..!! At the end, don't care if its satkar committe or jatha satkar committe or samparda's jatha satkar committe, independent body needs to be created authorized by sri akaal takth ensure there is an transparency and accountablity within these groups. All it takes one rogue extermist thought/person ruining it for everyone..!! Overall, in this anand karaj fiasco- non sikhs knowningly/unknowingly mocking sikh traditions such as anand karaj. We gotta look at the bigger picture- biggest culprits are committe members of the gurdwara itself and lack of parchar surronding anand karaj itself not the innocent couples who are gettin married. At under no circumstances, these families/bride and groom who are getting married should be intimidated by anyone- marriage is highly emotional/special day for them but rather committee members should be held responsible - they are the one who should we enforcing rules from sri akaal takth sahib, putting pressure as sangat to follow maryada from sri akaal takth sahib, and introduce policy surrounding anand karaj in the gurdwaras. Direct intervention from sri akaal takth sahib jathedars is needed to strike a right balance for both parties, i just have a feeling $hit is about to hit the fan..this is going to get ugly. That's not how you win hearts and get people in sikhi- any human who feels they are being pushed into the corner intentionally/unintentionally regardless of whatever intentions may be, will revolt back ugly and in this case- go totally left wing- join comrades/communist types- causing more division and hostility within community. You guys can learn from sikhs in BC how media was able to cause imaginary divide between moderates and fundamtenalist and took advantage of whole suitation why? Because simply - we let them......!!!!!!!!!!

  27. Don't believe everything you read in the media and that goes double for the Indian media! European nations grant asylum status according to each case. Even if the governments suddenly become amenable to India, the tribunal system especially in the UK makes sure that the government doesn't always get their way. The stupid Indians have no idea of how the European system works. They think Cameron just has to click his finger and someone seeking asylum will be on the first plane out of the country. The Indian media is notorious for making up 'facts' and 'agreements' when none exist.

  34. WGKKWGKF veerjio, Thank you Sikhsangat.com admin for pinning up the topic. I just need investors for the project, as this is a commercial project, I don't want to earn money from donations. You know its very hard to find investors here in INDIA. Everyone here is investing in the movies with a comedy and a love genre, I am not getting a single support from anyone. I had a talk with many good Sikhs in media with some Sikh actors and comedians (dont want to mention their name) they have all said a single word to me "NO". Also, I have seen some Film-makers who ask for donations from Sangat to make a movie on Sikhism. I don't think this is right, they infact ask for donations to make their own career. I will not ask for donations, but rather would love my Sikh brothers/businessmen to invest and take away their profit. I want all of us to grow and not a single person. Also I have a good offer for the Sikh investors from U.K I wish everyone understands my purpose of promoting Sikhi and growing together. :khalsa:

  35. There is only one purpose for a human and that is to realise the Lord. There is no other purpose from the ego's perspective you are nothing more than a slave if God want's he'll make you move and do whatever he wants. Make his hukam your purpose. If that still doesn't satisfy you there is nothing you could do that is a guarantee in life - DEATH is the only guarantee I suppose you could wait for that or follow the former of realising God.
