We need to be very careful here....they are clearly trying to get Sikhs on their side. "We need to do more together", "We need to stand together", then chanting "Sikh,Sikh,Sikh" so we get happy. They have to make it look like they are not against ethnic miniorities. A lot of the anger amongst working class Brits is due to the recession and the huge amount of immigrants coming here. The massive support for UKIP is proof they don't want any more immigrants here; we are seeing the rise of the right-wing. As Sikhs do we want to march alongside these sort of people ? Is this what our ancestors would have done ? British people generally are anti-religion, we have seen it with Sikh issues where they have been completely against us (the be-izati play, mixed marriages etc). Today it is Muslims, tomorrow it will be us. Singho, let's just keep quiet on this matter and concentrate on sorting out the problems we have in our own community. No other community is supporting them; I don't know why our people have jumped on this bandwagon.

I would say that deep down all the EDL are racist and anti-religion; they will never accept us as we are different. They are trying to show that they like us now because it is a publicity stunt....give it time and you will see their true colours. Our Gurus faced the problem of forced conversion to Islam by the ruler of the time and they were never against the religion but rather the warped translation of it by some of it's followers. Western countries are now legalising gay marriage......what do they expect is going to happen to them ? Like the video says, you need at least two children per family to preserve a culture, this won't happen with single parent families, high divorce rates, relationships outside of marriage, promoting gay marriage. It will happen with getting married at a young age, having lots of children, putting the family first rather than career aspirations, mothers who are devoted to their family and not arrogant and selfish as nowadays, fathers who are real men who can give children discipline. As Sikhs these are the things we need to concentrate on if we want to save our culture rather than aligning ourselves to right wing groups who are using us as pawns.

They had a liberal understanding of Islam (did not follow the sunnah or some verses of quran) that made them fall out of mainstream islam and would be declared apostate by most mainstream muslims today. Nowadays most muslim societies and communities in the world are extremely intolerant of other faiths and especially those who want to convert out of islam Sikhs really need to step up with missionary work to fill that vacuum that Christianity is leaving. Agree..its just in the political correct and current environment we need to careful to endorse edl as a group...we should not endorse an group because group has members and has association, group has connatations be it good or bad based on the actions of individuals in the group For eg- I may agree some of the views - tommy robinson has but to say i agree with edl group (all the members action) in its totality based on agreement with some of views of tommy robinson is too far fetched and it be blowing out of proportion. Not sure about Sikhs loving the Royal Family and the Armed Forces. I bear them no malice but that doesn't equate to me endorsing and supporting everything they do as well. What she did and said is without a doubt 100% wrong and I am not condoning it in any way, but I just looked at the comments on her Facebook apology status and so many disgusting comments have been left by people who have 'Singh' in their name. There are many ways to get your opinion across but since when do two wrongs make a right? There are 'Singhs' on Facebook using the most foul swear words, writing immoral things about her mother (and what they would do to her mother), someone (not a Singh) condoning the fact that Hard Kaur's ex-husband was physically abusive to her (that's never acceptable no matter the woman is like). One Singh suggested smashing up her mum's shop in Birmingham. What a joke. What Hard Kaur did and said is gravely wrong, and a public apology on Facebook is not enough for her to wash her hands of this matter. But by people using the most vile swear words and talking in a derogatory way about her and her mother, she is not going to learn anything or repent. As a girl, it's so shameful to read some of the comments these Singhs have left. All of us have mothers, sisters, daughters and just think if they made a mistake we would still not want anyone to talk down to them like that. We have every right to be offended by her childish/offensive act but lets seek clarification on her intent- may be she was under influence of drugs..Lets try to see this from all angles. There are three types of food- satogun, rajoguni, tamoguni. Outer bibek helps us to pick right food i.e- satoguni food (not enrich of mirch/masala-rajogun) for bhagti/meditation/spirituality etc. If one has lived in the samparda's dera- one will learn for gristhi- you need 70 satoguni and 30 rajoguni diet to keep your other half happy (you know what i mean.) or if one chooses to be behingum (celibate) and serve sikhi- he has to have 100% satoguni diet. Based on my own research- both inner bibek and outer bibek is must in sikhi as they both intertwined with each other and its very important in gurdwaras but its unfortunate how gurdwara's are ignoring satoguni food very balanced and simple food for all sangat so that everyone can eat despite of their health problems. 3. Bibek of not eating from non -amritdharis/even amritdharis who don't have same diet as them, just cook your own food. This is optional. . If it helps them, thats great.However, for some people it further helps to maintain their outer bibek to make sure- food they are eating its consistent- satoguni. They have to ensure food they are eating its little, full of nutrients and mainly satoguni otherwise it will defeat purpose.. 4. Sarbloh bibek- originally started in nihang dals (still on going)to avoid strictly any kind of infiltration from outsider- mughal/mona's/patit and eat in iron- as its very enrich and high in iron. This is highest outer bibek, when there is bibek pehra- there is certain energy behind it, which cannot be ignored. Again its good to have but its optional and again- they have to ensure food they are eating its little, full of nutrients and mainly satoguni otherwise it will defeat purpose for example- having chocolate cake in sarbloh batta kinda defeats the purpose. Each one of bibeks have levels and each bibek above are landmarks in spirituality, its there to help you out- its a landmark not a destination- its meant to help you but if caution is not placed by those who are practicing it, it could make these landmarks into road blocks if ones wrap their head around it could easily make these bibeks into mere karam kandis/dogma/ego trip. It's not bibek itself which makes it dogma, its people make it dogma and thats the key here..!!! There are many stories but one such story in jivan kiranie - biography of sant javala singh ji harkhowale - where one of bhramgyanis broke ahankar of bibeki singh who made bibek into dogma. Best way to learn about bibek is from mahapursh. a) they know levels of listed bibeks- when to apply, when not to apply b) provide cautionary guidance to avoid- turning bibek to karam kand/dogma/ego trip. There are many those who are inspired by bhagat ji- bhagat jaswant singh ji who is sarblohi bibeki mahapursh here in Canada but those who are inspired by him please do learn levels of bibek from him- when to apply and when not to apply bibek. I was with him in grouse mountain all the way to the summit and i clearly saw with my own eyes- despite of him being sarblohi bibek he pulled up - plastic natural spring water bottle to drink water few times, thats a clear indication of mahapursh not making bibek into dogma/karam kaand/ dogma ritual and there are similar stories of my own teacher- sant jagjit singh ji harkhowale who is 70 and cooked his own food all his life- he is not sarbloh bibeki but he is very strict dietary bibeki, despite of being strict bibeki/celibate mahapursh knows when to apply bibek and when not to apply bibek and he does not pro-actively promote it to the sangat who wishes to visit him as most of sangat who visits him are in gristh jevan have partners have diference of opnions on things and besides looking at the affairs of sikhs these days, mahapursh obviously knows how quickly it can become dogma despite of him being strick dietary bibeki by looking at the sad affairs- he openly gave tarna in katha- to those who made dietary bibek into dogma.!!

So often we look at our past so much that we forget there is a present and a future as well. What has passed can not be changed, focus on the present which will in turn make your future better. The only person you need forgiveness from is yourself The law of karma is absolute and can not be altered. Only Guru Sahib have the ability to alter one's karma. Start by taking a a deep breath in and along with this, saying (in your mind) WAAAAAAHEEEYYY and as you release your breath say (again in your mind) GOOOOOORRROOOOOOOO. There, you are well on your way already
