  1. From the information released so far it is clear that not only the June 84 massacre was planned but also the Nov84 one also. The Indian, excuses that is was not planned and they had poor intelligence is false when it has been shown that not only Indian Intelligence agents were monitoring Amritsar but also foreign agencies as well and sharing information between themselves. The Sikh Defenders not only faced the entire Indian establishment with its enormous military and intelligence resources but also the Congress, BJP/RSS, Corrupt Akalis, Nirankaris, various sects with their self styled Gurus, Santa Singh and some of the Buddha Dal and Foreign Govt resources also. The Singhs were the bravest of the brave. The Panth salutes them.

  2. This lady owner of this site is a great lover of ragi darshan and is famous for dishing out falsified stories on her website by adding masala to these. When Ragi darshan was to be excommunicated she tricked Sardar Lamba sahib in giving an interview and then distorted that interview by adding her own stuff. So be careful about authenticity of this narrative. She is talking about someone who has left sikh faith. Gursant singh is still a sikh and he has remained in jail in India. Why does not she quote him.

  4. Waljinder singh ji Yogi was not perfect man and had many flaws>But i do not believe that he will aid anyone in attacking Golden temple. He was a regular visitor to Golden temple when he was posted in Amritsar(I think he was a customs officer). His jatha had very close relationship with Bhai Fauja singh ( From akj who was killed by Nirankaris). He was friend of Giani zail singh then president of India. His one stay at rashtrapatti bhavan was severely criticized by MPs in parliament. The sole reason was that he spoke against invasion of Golden temple. When time passes that is what propagandists do bring bad name to sikhs. That time it was GOI under Indira Gandhi vs sikhs in general. Sikhs were the target whether akali or congress sikh.No one was spared. This was vote politics of Indira gandhi.

  5. I was in USA when Golden temple was attacked.Yogi Bhajan was the first one shown on TV to condemn this attack. He was shown on TV for quite a few days. He was viciously attacked during debate in Indian lower house of parliament. They said how did he stay in Rashtarpati bhavan ( He might have stayed there as he was close to then president Giani Zail singh). I do not think Yogi bhajan was a spy of anyone. Even Giani Zail singh did not know that they were going to attack Golden temple.

  7. The mentality of the British government of the time is shown when instead of urging the Indian government to exercise restraint and look to a peaceful solution, it looks like the government jumped at the chance to do the Indians a favour in return for sales of military equipment. The British government was in a better position than other western governments in putting pressure on the Indian government to not go ahead with the operation by citing the fact that the attack would cause trouble not just in India but also in the UK given the large Sikh population living here. The Sikh demand should not just be for full disclosure which is the least that can be expected from a responsible government but a real commitment from the government to make amends for the actions of the government of the time. This should take the form of assisting Sikh groups in their fight for justice for the genocide committed by the Indian government.

  8. Really, we are answering this Hindu guy. Without any doubt, we know Hindus have killed more minorities than all the countries of the world put together, but Hindus still have the audacity to say that they are the victims. Just think, India has killed more muslims every year than Palestianians who have died since 1948. Just compare Muslims killed in the last three years in the middle east with muslims killed in India. Please don't take Syria or lybia in account that is a civil war.

  9. As reports emerge that the UK may have colluded in a merciless 1984 raid on the Golden Temple in Amritsar, we look back at one of the most painful and important moments in Sikh history. By Dabinderjit Singh Code-named Operation Bluestar began on June 1st 1984. Up to 150,000 Indian army troops were sent to the northern Indian state of Punjab, the Sikh homeland, equipped with helicopter gunships and tanks. Over 125 other Sikh shrines were simultaneously attacked. On the false pretext of apprehending 'a handful of militants' lodged inside the Golden Temple, the Indian army unleashed a terror unprecedented in post-independence India. It took the use of Vijayanta tanks to win the fight for the army. These let loose a barrage of highly explosive shells, which destroyed the Akal Takht, the temporal seat of the Sikhs. The Shiromani (Temple) Committee secretary Bhan Singh was in the temple complex at the time of Operation Bluestar. He witnessed soldiers, commanded by a major, lining up young Sikhs along the hostel's corridor to be shot. When Bhan Singh protested, the major flew into a rage, tore away his turban and ordered him to either flee the scene or join the 'array of martyrs'. Bhan Singh turned back and fled, jumping over the bodies of the dead and injured. Hundreds of young Sikhs, innocent pilgrims from the villages, were killed in this manner. Ranbir Kaur, a female school teacher, witnessed the shooting of another group of 150 people whose hands had been tied behind their backs with their own turbans. A singer at the Golden Temple, Harcharan Singh Ragi, his wife and their young daughter came out of their quarters near the information office on the afternoon of June 6th. They witnessed the killings of hundreds of people, including women, and would themselves have been shot if a commander had not taken pity on their young daughter who fell at his feet begging him to spare her parents' lives. Associated Press correspondent Brahma Chellaney had managed to dodge the authorities to remain in Amritsar during the Operation Bluestar. One attendant at the city's crematorium told him that there was not 'enough wood to burn the dead individually'. News of the attack on the Golden Temple quickly spread despite the curfew. Thousands of people in the surrounding villages gathered to march to Amritsar to defend the Golden Temple. At Golwand village in Jhubal, a crowd of several thousands gathered, under the leadership of Baba Bidhi Chand, and began to march the 25 kilometres to Amritsar. Helicopter patrols spotted them and sprayed them with bullets without warning. Within minutes hundreds were dead or wounded. "It was a virtual massacre. A large number of women, children and pilgrims were gunned down." The Guardian, June 13th 1984 "For five days the Punjab has been cut off from the rest of the world. There is a 24-hour curfew. All telephone and telex lines are cut. No foreigners are permitted entry and on Tuesday, all Indian journalists were expelled. There are no newspapers, no trains, no buses - not even a bullock cart can move. Orders to shoot on site were widely carried out. The whole of Punjab, with its 5,000 villages and 50 major cities, was turned into a concentration camp. The rules were what the Indian army and its political decision makers decided." Christian Science Monitor, June 8th 1984 "The army went into Darbar Sahib (Golden Temple) not to eliminate a political figure or a political movement but to suppress the culture of a people, to attack their heart, to strike a blow at their spirit and self-confidence." Joyce J.M. Pettigrew "Thousands of people have disappeared from the Punjab since the siege of the Sikh's Golden Temple here seven weeks ago. In some villages men between 15-35 have been bound, blindfolded and taken away. Their fate is unknown" Mary Anne Weaver's report in the Sunday Times "A Sikh doctor drafted from the Government hospital to Jullunder to conduct post mortem examinations said that he had seen the bodies of two Sikhs who had been shot at point blank range, their hands tied behind their backs with their turbans. His colleagues had reported others, some of whom had been machine -gunned. This doctor headed a team that conducted 400 examinations. He said that most bodies were riddled with bullets and bore bomb wounds." The Guardian "The same doctor told journalists that bodies of victims were brought to the mortuary by police in municipal refuse lorries and reported that of the 400 bodies, 100 were women and between 15-20 were children under five. One was a two month old baby. The doctor said that one 'extremist' in the pile of bodies was found to be alive; a soldier shot and killed him." The Times "Another police official told reporters that a lorry load of elderly Sikhs who surrendered on the first day of the military operation, were brought to the main city police station and tortured there by the army. The old men shrieked, but I helplessly watched all this from my office window." The Guardian "On the night of the 5th, the aged and chronically ill father of the couple next door finally expired and on the morning of the 6th the army gave our neighbours special permission to take him to the crematorium. Even before reaching this site, they could smell the stench of putrid and burning flesh. On entering the crematorium grounds they saw a sight that literally made them sick with horror. Grotesque piles of dozens of bodies were being burnt in the open without dignity or religious rites like so many carcasses. The bodies had all been brought there by dust carts and from the number of carts; the attendant estimated some 3,300 had so far been cremated." A resident of Amritsar's eyewitness account to the editor of a British Sikh publication With dead bodies lying all around, the vast lake of the Golden Temple Complex was transformed into a thick red of profuse blood. No attempts were made to provide assistance to the injured or dying. According to the Christian Science Monitor: "On Saturday, medical workers in Amritsar said soldiers had threatened to shoot them if they gave food or water to Sikh pilgrims wounded in the attack and lying in the hospital." People were killed like that. No medicine was provided, in fact no medical aid was administered at all. Many people died in the camps. Neither water nor medicine aid was provided and you could not even donate blood for the injured in hospitals as it was stated that they were prisoners of war and hence no blood transfusions were permitted. The army detained volunteers of the Red Cross who wanted to help the injured at the nearby Jallianwala Baqh. G.K.C Reddy commented that "Operation Blue Star will go down in history as one of the biggest massacres of unarmed civilians by the organised military force of a nation." Further, he added that "the word unarmed is used deliberately as the disparity in arms on the two sides was so great that those resisting army invasion of the temple could hardly be termed armed". Indian MP and president of the Janata party Subramaniam Swami published an article soon after the massacre inside the Golden Temple to say that the government had been master-minding a disinformation campaign to create legitimacy for the action. This did not go unnoticed by informed foreign correspondents. "The government is now energetically insisting that the Sikh insurrection in the Panjab was a deep-seated conspiracy of a certain foreign power or when pressed, claims that some of the terrorists were trained in Pakistan," he wrote. "This is the first time that such a claim has been made, and it smacks of Mrs Gandhi's playing the familiar old Pakistan card for all it is worth." Citizens for Democracy, a respected Indian civil liberties group headed by the distinguished former supreme court judge V.M.Tarkunde, published a report called Oppression in Punjab (1985). According to its findings on the police and army atrocities, "it was a terrible tale of sadistic torture, ruthless killings, fake encounters, calculated ill-treatment of women and children, and corruption and graft on a large scale." It also noted that "despite all the oppression of the Sikh community there was no incident of a communal riot even in villages where the Hindus were in a hopeless minority". In the November 16th edition of the New Statesman, Amrit Wilson described the scene: "On June 4th, a day of pilgrimage for Sikhs when thousands had gathered at the Golden Temple, army tanks moved into the Temple Complex, smashing into the sanctum and shooting everyone in sight. Those left alive were then prevented from leaving the building, many wounded were left to bleed to death and when they begged for water, army Jawans told them to drink the mixture of blood and urine on the floor. Four months later no list of casualties or missing persons had yet been issued. Then came the army occupation of Punjab with frequent humiliations, arrests and killings of Sikhs by soldiers." In an effort to destroy a crucial part of Sikh heritage, the army, set fire to the Sikh Reference Library after it had been secured. Irreplaceable copies of the Guru Granth Sahib, the Sikhs' holy scriptures; archives of documents from periods of Sikh history and even artefacts from the lives of the Gurus were reduced to ash. The Toshakhana, treasure house of the Golden Temple was systematically looted. The government of India has always maintained that the army action was a 'last resort' necessary to flush out terrorists. But according to Retired Lt-General S.K. Sinha of the Indian army the army action was not the 'last resort' prime minister Indira Gandhi would have us believe. It had been in her mind for more than 18 months. Shortly after the Akali agitation of 1982, the army began rehearsals of a commando raid near Chakrata Cantonment in the Doon Valley, where a complete replica of the Golden Temple complex had been built. Another training involving Aviation Research Centre Commandos, was given in the Sarsawa area and Yamuna bed in helicopters converted into qunships." This was long before any "militants" were inside the complex. A soldier serving in Arnitsar wrote: "On the morning of June 6th, the Golden Temple complex was like a graveyard. Bodies lay all around in buildings, on the Parikarma and in the Sarovar. The sun was shining and the stench from the bodies was becoming unbearable. The civilians who died, about 1,500 of them, were piled in trollies and carried away. A lot of them were thrown into the rivers. The battle was a tragic one. I couldn't eat anything. Food made me sick. I used to just drink lots of rum and go to sleep. I am glad now to be relieved of my duty in Arnritsar." R.H. Greenfield of the Sunday Telegraph, (June 10th, 1984) wrote: "Mughal emperors and British governors alike tried military solutions to the Sikh problems and succeeded only in adding to the roll of martyrs cherished by the proud and prickly people. Sikhs also have long memories. They have never forgotten or forgiven the day in 1919 when General Dyer ordered his troops to open fire in the sacred city of Amritsar and Mrs. Gandhi may well have cause to rue the day she did the same." Less than 5 months later, his words became reality. Dabinderjit Singh is a leading figure in the British Sikh community. He became one of the youngest civilians to recive an OBE in 2000 for his work on equal opportunities and representing the Sikh community. He is an adviser to the Sikh Federation (UK) and a regular spokesman on mainstream media on Sikh issues. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/comment/talking-politics/truth-behind-golden-temple-massacre-112046608.html#c1U1q30

  10. A gun designed for Indian women By Geeta Pandey BBC News, Kanpur India has launched a new handgun for women, named after a student who was gang-raped in Delhi in December 2012 and later died of her injuries. Officials say it will help women defend themselves, but critics say it's an insult to the victim's memory. In his large office on Kanpur's Kalpi Road, Abdul Hameed, the general manager of the state-run Indian Ordnance Factory, shows me Nirbheek, the factory's tiniest gun. "It's small, it's lightweight, it weighs only 500g [1.1lb], and it can easily fit into a lady's purse." Hameed speaks enthusiastically about the .32-calibre revolver, praising the "special titanium alloy body, the pleasing-to-the-eye wooden handle". "The six-shot gun is easy to handle and it can hit its target accurately up to 15m [50ft]," he explains, pointing out the word "Nirbheek" engraved on the barrel. It is definitely a good idea - if you have a licensed weapon, it increases your self-confidence Although men can buy the gun too, Nirbheek is being pitched as India's "first gun for women" and to make it more attractive to them, it comes packaged in a deep maroon jewellery case. "Indian women like their ornaments," Hameed says. Nirbheek is a synonym of Nirbhaya - the nickname given by the Indian press to the Delhi rape victim, who could not be named under Indian laws. Both words mean fearless in Hindi. "We generally ask our employees to suggest names for new products. We received a lot of suggestions and decided on 'Nirbheek'. We believe that women who carry this gun will feel fearless," Hameed says. Although work to develop a lighter gun for women began before the Delhi rape, the project was fast-tracked after the crime, which sparked protests nationwide. The 23-year-old was raped, tortured with an iron bar and thrown from a moving bus. Women's rights activist Anita Dua (left) bought a gun about eight years ago but has never used it Hameed says Nirbheek will deter attackers, because of the "surprise element". The factory began taking orders on 5 January and despite a steep price tag of 122,360 rupees ($1,990; £1,213), Hameed says the response has been good, with 10 guns sold and many more enquiries. The gun's launch has led Indians to debate whether carrying a gun makes a woman safer. Ram Krishna Chaturvedi, the chief of police for Kanpur and several nearby districts, thinks it does. "It is definitely a good idea. If you have a licensed weapon, it increases your self-confidence and creates fear in the minds of criminals," she says. Among those wanting to buy Nirbheek is Pratibha Gupta, a housewife and student in Kanpur. She says it is "too expensive" and the process of acquiring a licence is "cumbersome", but she believes that it will be empowering. "If the person in front of me knows that I have a gun, he will hesitate to touch me, he will know that since she has a gun, she can use it too. The gun will be my supporter, my friend and my strength." Watch the video at the link pasted at the end: The handgun, marketed at Indian women, has been condemned by activists Soon after the Delhi gang rape, large numbers of women in Indian cities began to look for ways to make themselves safer. The Indian government introduced tougher new laws against rape, deployed more police on the streets and several cities introduced women's helplines. But many frightened women had little faith in a largely corrupt and inefficient police force. Large numbers enrolled in self-defence classes and began stocking up on pepper spray cans. Some reports suggested there was a rise in the number of women seeking gun licences. Shocking stories are still making headlines though, such as the case involving a Danish tourist who was attacked by a group of men earlier this week. In Calcutta a girl was gang-raped twice and then set on fire - in three separate incidents. Crime figures from India's National Crime Records Bureau suggest the number of rapes is on the rise, and that one is committed about every 22 minutes. Against this background, the makers of Nirbheek believe they have a valuable addition to the armoury of the scared Indian woman. Anti-gun activists, however, are appalled at the idea. "I am horrified, shocked and angered," says Binalakshmi Nepram, founder of the Women Gun Survivors Network in the north-eastern state of Manipur, who says it's the government's responsibility to ensure the security of its citizens. "It's ridiculous that the state is talking about arming women... The authorities saying, 'Hey woman, come there's a new gun for you which will make you safer,' is an admission of failure on their part." Thousands remembered Nirbhaya on the anniversary of her death Nepram, whose organisation has been studying gun violence in eight Indian states for a number of years, says having a gun doesn't "make you safer, it actually enhances your risk". "Our research shows that a person is 12 times more likely to be shot dead if they are carrying a gun when attacked," she says. She also says to name Nirbheek after the rape victim is an insult to the memory of Nirbhaya, because she wouldn't have been able to afford it. "In India, the annual income of most people is less than the cost of the gun. So to suggest that this gun will make women safer is bizarre." According to GunPolicy.org, an international firearm injury prevention group, India has 40 million privately-owned firearms - second only to the US - but only 6.3 million or 15% of them are legal. There are no accurate estimates of how many women are armed. Manjit Singh, whose family owns five gun shops in Kanpur, says women in India rarely carry guns, and if they own one it is likely to be because they inherited it from their father or husband. "No woman in India carries a gun. I've never seen it in my life," he says. "In the last 10 years, we've seen maybe one or two women who've come to our shop for a gun. Women possess licences - in my home there are six women and they all have licences and they all have guns, but they have been bought by the men in the house." Most public places in India do not allow guns - and many offices, malls, cinemas, theatres and markets are equipped with metal detectors to enforce this. Even if the Delhi rape victim had owned a gun, he says, it would not have been much help, considering she was returning home after watching a film in a theatre in a mall where she wouldn't have been allowed to carry her weapon. And if she had been armed, and she had shot any of her attackers the chances are she would have spent the rest of her life in jail on charges of murder, he says. Anita Dua, a women's rights activist in Kanpur who acquired a gun about eight years ago, says she's never had a chance to use it. "I work for women's issues and have been instrumental in sending many people to jail so I have made lots of enemies. "I bought this revolver for personal safety, but I'm not allowed to carry it to most places, so it just remains, locked up in my house, gathering dust." http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-25727080 So the nation of Gandhi finally wakes up and smells the coffee that non-violence is NOT ALWAYS the best option!

  12. According to my observation: Whats daily Gurmat routine in 3HO organization: 1. Get up at amrit vela at 3 am recite ishnan, contemplate on japji sahib every morning 7 days a week 365 days a year 2. Mantra chanting from gurbani and sri dasam guru granth sahib bani 3. Yog sadhanas kriyas (sas gras simran/kundalini yoga) incorporated with shabad for meditation 4. Wearing Bana openly 5. Kirtan- devotional Singing 6. Exercise- Yoga 7. Healthy Living diet 8. Beleive in Sri guru granth sahib as living guru and beleive in concept of khalsa have guru sahib parkash, celebrate gurpurbs, nagar kirtan etc. 9. Spread sikhi to other non sikhs parchar intially through kundalini yoga as first step just get them into it and slowly get them into sikhi-gurbani kirtan amritvela. 10. Sperad gurmat raj yog to humanity -healing to humanity- kundalini healing equilvaent chii energy for body related issues, encourage healthy marriage life while strike right balance between gurmat spirituality and social life, against asceticism 11. For most part , recognize final message or stage as they pay very close attention to khalsa updesh in khalsa mehima in sri dasam granth- worship only one light prevadaing all, intially use kundalini yoga to create a space in meditation. Whats manmat in 3ho organization/events: 1. Get rid of all white tantric seminars hocus pocus stuff in seminars held twice a year 2. Get rid of commerialization 3. Get rid of numerlogy, astrology all the other stuff so people don't get sway away 4. Occasional bowing to Baba sri chand idol outside 5. Any kind of idol worship be it interfaith or otherwise 6. Kundalini yoga teachers training- thats turning out to be road block as its more bragging for tropphy/egoic accomplishment course than real message. 7. Evidence of mechinic robotic kundalini kriyas without any devotion of some 3ho members So are we going to accept them and help them connect more closely with gurmat by looking at good things or demonize/villify them? It's really up to us. Most groups have good and bad..No one is immune from manmat, there are many scandals, nasty jatha splits, firing, violent confortations between all sikh groups. Shall i start talking about manmat in other sikh groups, and tribal issues affecting all the groups as i have been very blessed to see everything from eagle eyes views. I don't belong to any tribe. No one in the west is going to take a crap from self righteous cactus jacks be it from anyside, it all depends on our approach. It's about recognizing good points in all groups and help them in gurmat BUT before REALLY HELP OURSELVES FIRST TO SORT OUT BEFORE pointing fingers at others.

  16. If we get the full disclosure of the documents, because there was a collusion of intelligence, we may get the following answers as well - How many and which Indian army personnel were used during the operation and how many Singhs fought - What military equipments (including helicopters) were used by the army and what were used by the Singhs - How much Sangat was inside the complex during attack and how many were allowed to leave. - How many casualties of the Sangat and how many wounded - What happened to the bodies of the deceased and whether they were indeed mass-cremated just outside the complex - Any mistreatment by the Indian army on the Sangat - How many army personnel died and wounded - What happened to the Sikh reference library literature and if it still exists somewhere -Why were the tanks involved if the number of casualties on the army side was very low (official figure 82)

Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) is an international human rights organization which believes and adheres to Universal Declaration of Human Rights and endeavors to create an environment in which minorities – regardless of race, religion, language, gender, or ethnicity – can freely exercise their right to “self determination” as enshrined in the United Nations Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. Recently Tom Watson has cited two letters which have only just been released under the 30-year rule One, dated 6 February 1984 from the prime minister’s office, talks about the “Indian request for advice on plans for the removal of dissident Sikhs from the GoldenTemple”. It states that the prime minister is “content that the foreign secretary should proceed as he proposes”. The other letter, dated 23 February 1984, said “the foreign secretary decided to respond favorably to the Indian request and, with the prime minister’s agreement, an SAS officer has visited India and drawn up a plan which has been approved by Mrs. Gandhi. The foreign secretary believes that the Indian government may put the plan into operation shortly”. That Army invasion of Golden Temple in June 1984 with the support of British intelligence agency’s on a day when Golden Temple is most visited, most crowded and most occupied by innocent Sikh pilgrims who gather to commemorate martyrdom of 5th Guru Arjun Dev Ji resulted in destruction of Akal Takhat Sahib and the loss of thousands of innocent Sikh lives. The eye-witnesses claim that more than ten (10) thousand Sikhs were massacred. The planning by British government with the Indian government that started with June 1984 genocidal attacks on the Sikhs doesn’t end with the death of over 10,000 innocent Sikh men, women, children, and the greatest Sikh leader in modern history (Shaheed Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale). The British government is also guilty of all the innocent blood that spilt since June 1984. This includes more than 30,000 Sikhs systematically killed during November Sikh Genocide and the 1984 to 1996 Punjab Liberation Struggle which resulted in the Indian police killing over 100,000 Sikhs across India. Winston Churchill once said the “British people are highly indebted and obliged to Sikhs… As a result of their timely help, we are today able to live with honor, dignity and independence”, but because of the United Kingdom, we are today NOT able to live with honor, dignity and independence. We urge you to: PASS a resolution that planning by British forces SAS with Indian army to invade GoldenTemple in June 1984 that resulted in the death of more than 10,000 Sikhs was grave blunder.DECLARE that British government is remorseful for the massacre of innocent Sikhs during the attack on GoldenTemple and the loss of more than 100,000 Sikh lives from 1984 to 1996. CONDEMN that action of PM Thatcher of colluding with Indira Gandhi to attack GoldenTemple in June 1984 was wrong. The British people, their monarchy and their government owe a debt to the Sikh Nation. This debt to the Sikh Nation will only be repaid by the full and unconditional support of the British government in assisting the Sikhs to reclaim their legal land of Punjab back from India. As for Dhotiwale and Bodhiwale that was referring to then congress leadership. Punjabi Hindus didn't wear Dhotis. The full proper context of the statement by Sardar Mann is that at the time around the so called 'independence" his father had a conversation with Mastar Tara Singh who assured his father that if congress leadership(Dhotiwale and Bodhiwale) ever betray Sikhs, the Sikhs will kick out these Hindutve, Dhotiwalas and Bodhiwalas to which his father did not agree to blindly trust the safety of the Panth in the hands of the congress because around the time of independence Sikh leadership had more options on the table and could have gained much for the Sikhs. He said this is what someone suggested in a meeting. Anyone who knows the Sikh religion would never take such a statement seriously. You are just grasping at straws since you have nothing concrete to use against Sikh nationalism. As for your statement of Sandhu, that is a statement given to the Indian army under torture. When he along with SGPC men had surrendered in Teja SIngh Samundri Hall there were 350 Sikhs(including elderly, women and children) hiding there. The army selected Sandhu along with the SGPC leadership and took them to safety and threw grenades at the rest of the people in the hall. Out of the 350 Sikhs, only 70 survived. Now we know why he was selected and protected by the Indian army.

  25. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Ji A hypothetical question? If someone enters your home and kills you while you try and defend yourself. Would it be ok to justify the action by labelling you with a particular term? Why is there a continuing justification of these attacks and denial (last stage of genocide)? If the biased BBC need help at English, they can try the following edits; "The storming of the Golden Temple was aimed at flushing out Sikh separatists revenge by the Indian government and the killing of Sikh civilians." "The Sikhs separatists demanded an independent homeland - called Khalistan - in Punjab want to live in peace without discrimination." "1982: Armed Sikh militants, led by Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, took take up residence in the Golden Temple complex as he was in charge of Gurdwara affairs." Does the media not know how to spell 'genocide' when it comes to SIkhs?

  31. ive only found these taraz's linked to the vaar asa ki vaar. An outline of the story of Asaraja (meaning the king named As) is given below. As (pronounced 'Us') was a son of Raja Sarang in ancient times. His step-mother-the King's second wife-fell in love with him but he refused her advances. The lady out of spite blamed him of incest. Raja Sarang ordered his execution at the insistence of his wife. He told his minister to carry out the order of execution of As. The minister was a wise man. He took As to a jungle and ordered the executioner to cut one hand of As a proof of his death. After cutting his hand, they left him in the jungle. A party of traders soon passed through the jungle and heard the cries of As. They atteneded to his wound and took him to a neighbouring country. They sold him as a slave to a washerman. As had lost his hand and was called As the cripple (Tunda-As). He was given the duty of loading a bull with dirty clothes and bringing back the washed clothes to his master-the washerman. Unfortunately the king of the town died suddenly, without leaving any heir. The ministers decided that the man who passed through the city gates first the next morning, would be crowned as King. As usual Tunda-As who went out early morning with his bullock to the rivulet (outside the city) with his load of dirty clothes, happened to be the first man to pass through the city gate. He was crowned and called Tunda Asraja (King Asa the cripple). Soon thereafter the crops failed on account of drought. Asaraja had bought a lot of grain in advance to feed his people. Raja Sarang-the father of Asraja-had two other sons who were given to hunting and pleasure. Raja Sarang felt the effects of famine and sent his minister to buy grain from the neighbouring country. The minister came to Asaraja's town for purchase of grain and met him and recognised him. Asraja gave the minister a lot opf grain free. Raja Sarang come to know of the generosity of Asraja. He also became aware of the bad character of his second wife. He called Asraja to his palace and desired to pass on the crown to him instead of to his senior son. Sardul the senior prince decided to claim the kingdom. With the help of his maternal uncle Sultan Rai, he waged war against Raja Sarang and Asaraja. The court-poet composed a // to be sung in a particular dhuni (tune) in praise of King Asraja who was s symbol of the victory of virtue over vice. This // became very poplar and inspirational. Guru Arjan found a great resemblance between the five-lined pauris of Guru Nanak's Asa-di-// and the // of Tunda-Asaraja and prescribed the tune of the latter for the singing of the former.

  34. I am also of the same view.I dont get the reason people give for being vegie(when they r not fully veggie). Few popular ones are: 1) Killing is cruel: then why do we kill plants and why dont we live according to jains who take utmost care for not killing organisms. Why do we take medicines, use soap, and lottsa other things. 2) Meat is not for humans: Then why do we drink milk....it has the same properties. Why do we eat cakes and cookies. 3)Killing is sin: Then why do we kill plants. How do we know killing animals is a sin but not plants. I really wanna see the fine line.I mean something which really answers everything. And u r true...I m fool thats why I m arguing over meat as told by Guru Nanak dev ji.We all shud respect Akal Takhat (where they gave the freedom and told us not to fight over it) and be in His(God's) Hukam.
