  2. I read that Guru Nanak Dev Ji always had a Barsha with them wherever they went, and when Guru Nanak Dev Ji came back after 3 days, they passed Shastar Vidya to Baba Budha Ji, Raagvidya to Bhai Mardana, and Brahmvidya to the Panth... Any Sakhis, Katha, or more info. on this?

  5. The chaur sahib is done all on Sant mahapurkhs bodies after akaal chalana. Sant Ishar Singh nanaksar, Rara Sahib, etc etc etc if you need pics to convince you i can send you them. The parshad in the coffin is done for some reasons including Sugandhi (when the body is cremated to create a pleasant smell ) and also is traditionally done on Young Mahapurkhs who have passed away. its got nothing to do with food going to the after life. Regarding Bowing, maybe you are not familiar with any sant samparda. Every Sant Samaparda bows down to their Mahapurkh, Nanaksar, taksal, Rara sahib etc. we have this misconception we can only bow to SGGS ji. Well infact SGGS ji tells us 'Mokau Kar Santan Ki Dhoorai' - 'Jo deesai gursikhra tis niv niv laago paae jio' I'm sorry but accepting Bhana doesn't mean you cannot show your emotions. Do you think when Guru Sahib left the sikhs at Sri Hazur Sahib they were sitting there with no tears? When your Murshad leaves you what do you expect? It is bairaag, the pain of separation. Sant Ishar Singh Ji Nanaksar used to sit secluded in a forest in Dehradun after Baba Nand Singh Jis passing, with tears of separation while ragi Kehar Singh Ji sang bairagmei shabads. The hand is just a form of blessing. it is something a lot of mahapurkhs did. I hope this cleared your doubts.

  6. What if I agree that I am dumb and insecure? Will you stop posting nonsense questions on an hourly basis? Or daily basis? Or weekly basis? If you think I am so dumb and insecure why did you hit like? You see how irritating one stupid question after another looks like? You do? Good, thank God! Finally! And yes, I am ready to admit for your happiness that I am supposedly dumb and insecure, hoping that you stop it! They are, its some Gyanis who still think its ok. You should initiate the procession. We all will join you (atleast you will be away from the computer). You should initiate the procession. We all will join you (atleast you will be away from the computer). We will stop protesting if a Sikh girl marries a non-Sikh once he has taken Amrit. That is just one question you asked. Did you forget the rules? You have to ask atleast 14 questions in one post before anyone bothers to read it. Oh and all have to be stupid. Try again! :D

  7. West born amritdhari sikhs in majority don't use punjabi as their mother tongue. They can't keep up conversation in punjabi nor they know how to write punjabi. If they don't take immediate steps then it won't be far when our language will be gone from our households. I have seen examples of other faith who stressed very much on their language (jews) and take extra steps to preserve it. In india sikh youth feels inferior if they speak punjabi while in west sikh youth never got a chance to learn nor any attempts are being made by parents to preserve em. It is sad to see parents sending their kids to sunday gurdwara school and thinks that it is enough of their parental duty to preserve language that our guru sahib jee created. How do you feel about this issue?

  9. Let me switch the question slightly: Why do interfaith couples feel it necessary to have an Anand Karaj, when in majority of the cases neither of them has any interest in Sikhi?

  10. The best way to teach punjabi to your children is to speak punjabi with them. Then when they communicate with you they should also speak punjabi. You can send them to the punjabi classes at the gurdwara all you want but if they come home and you speak English with them then they will not learn punjabi. To learn any language, person to person communication is crucial.

  12. If you guys really feel this hardcore about Bani being on the same servers as anti Sikhi stuff, and Bani on laptops with songs etc.... I challenge you to get rid of your TV at home because I'm sure you have a Gutka sahib at home. Don't talk the talk...walk the walk. Get rid of your TVs..there's so much garbage on it, how dare you have it in the same home as a Gutka sahib. But... I'm pretty sure you'll find an excuse about how it's ok. Haha.. Hilarious.

  14. Deepmangatsingh Are you able to substantiate that nine out of ten protests are Sikh female-non Sikh male interfaith Anand Karaj. How many weddings in gurdwaras have been disrupted.Has there been any statistic analysis provided to prove that there have been a growing number of disruptions or has this been blown out of proportion by particular vested interests with particular agendas.

  16. Firstly go and read what the translation of the Anand Karaj and the lawan are. Then and read Guru Gobind Singh Ji's 52 hukums, then read rehit maryada, then read akal takhts hukumnama on the interfaith marriage issue. Your questions will be answered. The people protesting are not insecure, it's the people trying to have interfaith marriages to save face even though they know it's wrong that have ignorance issues. It's very simple anand karaj is only for Sikhs where bride and groom both profess to belong to the Sikh faith. Don't agree go and get married in a registry office.

  17. Bro jkvlondon yoy have right to hold your pov, but that is just neither true nor gurmat. The so called gods are shown to have human shortcomings like lust, anger, greed, cowardice, pride etc, whenever attacked by rakshas( i believe they had better chatacter than "gods" ) would run helter skelter for help to goddesses. In Gurbani gods and goddesses are only ridiculed .I have shown quotes from gurbani in some other thread on concept of avataarvaad in Sikhi also, may quote here if required .Rquest, please do not misinterprete gurbani in brahminical light it has already done a lot of damage. I do not wish to annoy or agitate anybody so respectfully please give it a thought Wjkk wjkf

  18. Dear veerjee _Gupt_Singh, All relations are karmic relations. One has a relation with a mother, father, son, brother, wife, husband......there is nothing wrong in these relations, they have their own charm and beauty. Be positive. The thing is not to have "moh", in them. Take them as "amanat" from Wahiguru, not your property, then one will enjoy those relations. You see, the thing is to keep Wahiguru in mind at all times. This will help us to live among our relations and fulfill our duties towards them. As per your relation, in my personal opinion, go after her, do not ditch her like that for no reason. Did not our Guru Sahibans, got married? It is better to be married, because when the mind attacks with full force, with all the kaam vaasana, then one just falls down. One has not to suppress, one´s emotions and feelings, as long they are normal, not like the beasts. We have to live in this world as said before, without attachments, without "moh". Like a duck in a pond of water, when it wants to fly, it just flies away, because its wings do not get drenched with water while being in the water. That is how we should live in this world. When our time comes to leave from this world, you should go happily without any regrets. We should live in the world, but without being of the world, that means keeping Wahiguru as our goal. We are tourists in this alien land/world. We should not get involved in affairs of politics, land, caste, creed, mazab, which are all chains around our necks, which pull us down to the creation again and again. We do not belong here, our real Home is Sach Khand, our true Father is Satnam. That`s it.

  19. On 4th November 1970 at St Chads Hospital in Edgbaston UK, Sant Baba Mani Singh Jee graced this earth with his arrival. Today is the 43rd anniversary of his birth. A small glimpse of this divine soul can be seen below............take out 45mins from your busy day to listen to the sermon, I will be surprised if you do not glean something to support you in your Gursikhi journey.
