  1. And how does the Sri Guru Singh Sabha Committee think Modi will react when he comes to the Park Avenue Gurdwara and sees that 12 foot painting of Sant Bhindranwale and the jhujaroos fighting to the death against the Indian Army? Or that portrait of Sant Ji in the langar at Havelock? Utterly shameless. No principles, no conviction, and apparently, no brains.

  4. The best thing is to learn Punjabi and not rely on translations. Translations can never do justice to the depth of Gurbani, the meanings are simply watered down and no matter how learned the translator they do not do justice to Gurbani and Anand cannot be experienced in the same fashion. Reading a translation is akin to snorkelling as opposed to diving in and getting full laha.

  5. In this case the 'young' are just as bad as the 'old'. Those muppets at 'City Sikhs' are full of young professionals working in the city. Although the word 'professional' might indicate a high level of intellect these cretins are however, serial muppets. Basically, that organisation could easily rename itself 'Ramgharias in the City' because essentially thats what they are. You get a sense of their muppetry by reading their annual 'highly respected' British Sikh Report. Each year, whenever you read it, it becomes clear that these people imagine Sikhs in Briatin started with the arrival of ramgharias from east Africa in the 1970's. They have absolutely zero knowledge, understanding or wish to learn about any of the people that laid the foundation for them in the 40's, 50's and 60's. So, with un-padh uncles you can understand why and how they don't understand why they should not be welcoming Modi. But there is absolutely no excuse for this group of young 'educated' types. They ought to feel thoroughly ashamed of themselves.

  7. While we're on this topic. I have (a handful of times) had strange dreams which sort of allude to what was going to happen to me in the next day. They weren't 100% precise. But almost perfect recounts of what was to happen

  10. What I am saying is that we have an excellent platform to showcase what Sikhism is. Yes we can cater for the mainly Punjabi audience . But that doesnt mean we should not have any other shows. We could have a programe ie such as the basics of Sikhi. which describe what Sikhism is. This will be very informative for people who know nothing about Sikhism. We need Sikh missionary shows. we also need more translations of shabads. its not to diffiuclt to get some subtitles which would make a world of difference. people will actually be able to understand what is being said in the Kirtan.

  14. This bani has been been very badly misinterpreted. Here, Kabir ji is trying to explain the logic behind Animal Sacrifice that if God is already there in the chicken, how can we sacrifice it and offer it to God. This bani doesn't say anything about what type of food should be eaten.

  15. Their called Doors, not holes. Their meant to be sense links, The Yogic techniques of India were very reliant on them I believe. Take it symbolically, the most important Door is the 10th one. The hidden door, the link to god.

  17. There's only one force in this universe I trust completely. Akaal Purkh thyself. I would keep you close and once you rebel I would do what all overlords do. To the Dungeons! Manipulate me? Let me tell you a little about the History I have with various members here. JcafSingh (sorry i got your name wrong ) was someone I debated heavily with, We didn't part being best of friends, we put it in the past and moved forwards, Similar interactions with a couple other members. Anyone who's seen my style of posting knows very well I rarely hand out likes, My "likes" have nothing to do with me being manipulated. Not to sound Arrogant but I've always been a free thinker, my thoughts are mine and mine alone. My actions are mine, No one is forcing me or controlling me like a sick puppet-master. My only Master is Akaal Purkh himself, I am nobodies Underling save his. The only thing influencing me is my love for My Divine Father. As for the debate about the Raagmala, I don't have the audacity to question what is inscribed in the bani of Guru Granth Sahib Ji. To me it is absolute. If I find something that I don''t understand, the only thing that is wrong is my stupidity as I can't understand what my master has said. I never consider a foreign element as the complexity of Gurbani is too much for my small intelligence to handle. I have no care for what any Jatha are doing. I don't belong to any Jatha, nor am I a follower of anyone save Guru Sahib. My responsbility as a Sikh is to walk the Path of Guru Sahib, follow his will and spread what I know about Sikhi. Along the way learn more about Sikhi. The same person who you put up there (AkaliFauj) Once called a fellow Sikh sister a rather horrendous term for a woman of questionable characteristics. Unbiased and his name don't go together. I am equally as opinonated. I am equally as Passionate as him. I'm shocked you thought that People were being serious about my candidacy (no idea if they were) since i merely put my name forward as a joke, hence my conversation with MrSingh. Being a mod is hardly about knowing a large amount about Sikh Prachaar. It's about sticking to the rules, being impartial (not taking sides and let's face it, I will take sides and as will almost all the people you put forward) and upholding the rules of the Forums. Though if people really want me as Mod. My Death note is ready, my army of Shinigami are ready. Let my rule begin :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

  18. Jokes aside, this forum is a microcosm of why modern day Sikhi is so fractured. We're meant to be the future generations on whose shoulders change will arrive. If anything, we're just as bad as those who've come before us. I hope there's a gupt horde of blessed Sikhs free of partisanship and ties to holy men of all denominations, lol.

  27. Thing is benji. Most (not all mind you) of the people who run such organizations don't want independent thinkers. They want a "Yes" machine, They'd rather have people who agree with everything they say than someone who will challenge them and if necessary correct them.

  28. When the young ones are older then time will tell what they can do. I don't like the phrase get the old ones out either, they are funny but I say in a sincere way. And we must understand some may not have the standard of education one requires to see, but they are not unintelligent, some have are very intelligent and have years of experience of life, which the young ones don't. I just don't like one program that's all. Instead of saying get rid of them, young ones should find ways to work alongside them, and vice versa. Young and old need each other to flourish in life.

  30. When will the foolish world ever stop blaming Wahiguru for all their misfortunes? That also when they are wholly responsible for their condition. How can we be so harsh with our Sachay Patshah? We should stop taking Wahiguru, as the genie of Aladino´s Lamp, for things like fulfilling one´s desires, or acting as Superman in times of distress at our calls... Of course Wahiguru is "sarvavyapak" = omnipresent and "shakti shalee" = omnipotent, and omniscient; but if in good times we do not remeber Him or try to establish a consciouss relation with Him, how can we have the cheek to call Him in our so called bad times. Usually, we treat Him like the genie mentioned above, we just rub the lamp when we need Him the most, then we let Him stay inside and make Him wait, until we really need Him again. Shameless people ... He is our True Father and Mother, we should daily dedicate time to Love Him without any excuse or fail, through His Simran. "Sukh main Simran jho kare, toh dukh kaaeko hoe" Sat Sree Akal.

  31. If Takhat jathedaars do this right thing, they should first take away Faqr e Qaum from Badal and then ban him also from using panthic stages for his personal gains - Most of you know that he goes to the panth dokhis and provide them security. Jafemaar ji do you have the guts to do one more right thing?? Why is the stick always used for general public and not politicians like him? This is hypocrisy people and not duty.

Here I thought all those obscene teenage boys were getting off on naked bodies, turns out what really excited them was the knowledge that they were embarking upon a numinous quest of self-discovery. Somebody better call the Buddhist monks and let them know that they're going about it all wrong.

  36. My Homage to Guru Granth Sahib * The Late Sri Rajneesh, or "Osho" as he preferred to be called. Excerpted from "Books I have Loved". The Rebel Publishing House, 50 Koregaon Park Pune 411001. With special permission, vide Ma Yoga Neelam’s Letter dated 1st Sept. 1997. Guru Granth Sahib is the only book in the world taken from all the sources possible. Its sources come from Hindu, Mohammedan, Jaina, Buddhist, Christian. Such openness, no fanaticism. The title Guru Granth means ‘the book of the masters’, or ‘the master book’. In it you will find Kabir, Nanak, Farid, and a long line of mystics belonging to different traditions, different schools, as if thousands of rivers are meeting in the ocean; Guru Granth is like an ocean. I will translate only one sentence of Nanak. He is the founder, so of course his words are compiled in Guru Granth. He was the first master of the Sikhs; then followed a line of nine other masters. Sikhism was produced by ten masters. It is a rare religion because every other religion was created by only a single master. Nanak says : The truth, the ultimate truth is unspeakable, so please forgive me, I will not speak about it, but only sing it. If you can understand the language of music, then perhaps a chord in your heart may be touched. The transmission of the lamp is beyond words. Guru Granth Sahib.... the Sikhs call it Sahib because they respect the book so much, almost as if it is alive, as if it were the very spirit of the master. Guru Granth has compiled the sayings of ten living masters, ten enlightened ones. I say that no other book can be compared to it. It is incomparable. Nanak says, "Ek omkar satnam - only one thing is true, the name of the inexpressible." In the East we call it omkar, om - only that is true. The sound of the soundless.... the silence that pervades after the sound has left...ek omkar satnam. Nanak, the founder of Sikhism roamed around the known world of his day with a single follower, Mardana. Mardana means manly - ‘the really brave’. To be a follower one has to be brave. Nanak used to sing while Mardana played on his sitar, and that’s how they roamed around the world spreading the fragrance of the ultimate. His songs are so beautiful, they bring tears to my eyes. Just because of his songs a new language was created. Because he wouldn’t listen to any grammar, any rules of language, regulations, he created Punjabi - just by his songs. It is a tremendously strong language, just like the sharp edge of a sword. Source; The Sikh Review, November 2000, Page # 39
