  2. Dear brother/sister, whosoever you maybe, forget all this brhamanvadee belief. Before even one is born, one´s fate is written. Without fate/destiny nobody can be born. Everything is perfectly and precisely timed. His recitation can never go wrong, because He is no devi, devta, or avataar. And, He is beyond any recitation. He is only bound by love, and that, I think you do have and shardaa also. So cool down and relax. A child learning to walk, may fall down several times, before he walks and even run. And these falling down are not mistakes, but attempts, to become mature and stronger in due time. Sat Sree akal.

  3. The commemoration of battles and illegal war on the Sikh empire is a utter disgrace, insult and humiliation of the Sikhs because the Sikhs have lost everything when the racist British imperialists handed over the keys of punjab to hindu india and muslim pakistan. There is no Sikh nation or government at the moment to take part in commemorations. And furthermore if anything we should be commemorating the battle of Chillianwala and others where Sikhs were victorious.

Johnny they wanted to subjugate all who profess faith in any religion ...because those are the ones who do not look to govt for some kind of moral compass , but actually think and behave independent of their social engineering . All westerns countries are undermining faith in God it's been on the agenda for the past one hundred plus years ....

How many times have we seen this now ? with Bhai Gurbaksh Singh twice. Now Bapu Surat Singh. What results have been achieved ? How many prisoners have been released ?

  7. In Memory of Shahibzadey Shaheedi, Naam Simran Smagam is happening at Darbar Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Walsall, West-Midlands. Sangat Ji, We are fast approaching the 'festive season' again this year, but what does this time of the year really mean for Sikhs? This is the time of the year that one of the biggest sacrifices in history was given by our father Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj. In the month of Poh Maharaj sacrificed his four sons, his mother and countless Sikhs in the name of dharam. This was the fulfilment of a promise Guru Gobind Singh Ji made in 1699 when he, as Guru, knelt down in front of the Panj Pyaare and begged them for the gift of Amrit. The Panj asked Guru Sahib what he will give to receive this Amrit and Maharaj said they will sacrifice their entire family to get this divine gift. In memory of this Baljit Singh will be doing a daily katha over 13 Days telling the full story. This is part of the Naam Simran Smagam being held at the Gurdwara. Full details are below please be sure to attend! 19th December to 31st December. Daily smagam program: morning Simran 5am-6am & evening simran 7am-8pm 13 Larivaar Shaheedi Katha 8pm-8.30pm Darbar Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Rollingmill Street, Walsall, WS2 9EQ Maharaj has given and today continues to give so much for us, this time of year is a perfect time for us all to reflect on what we have really sacrificed to Maharaj. Please make effort to attend and share with others, it is so important that we all know about this chapter in our history!

  8. Dear Helpplease jee, the Bani of Sukhmani Sahib, upon which you have a question, beautifully tells us: Prabh kai simran kaal parharai. Remembering God, death is eliminated. So, if the biggest enemy, the biggest fear of a human being, can be defeated, what other bad luck can fall upon a person who remembers Him as per Gurmat? Absolutely none. Other thing is, that which has to pass, will surely happen, whether one wants it or not. So please keep away from your mind, that something bad can happen if one makes mistakes in the recitation. So what would be the case of the deaf and dumb? Do you think, it is the pronounciation of your words which take you nearer or away from Him? No. It is your love for Him, which matters. For if you love Him, He will pull the string from within and draw you closer and closer towards Him. You see everything is in His hands, and so is the rope also of your love for Him. He sees not the words you utter, but feels the pull from your side, each time you do His Simran. We doing is His Simran, is like pressing the door bell of His Darbar. It is signal to Him, saying, Sachay Patshah I am knocking at Your door, please open. Then only He opens from within. So it is your sentiments for Him, your "bireh", your thirst for His Darshan which counts...nothing else. God bless you. Sat Sree Akal.

  9. I don't think soldiers should ever be blamed for decisions made by politicians. A soldier goes where he's told to go. In that respect, remembering fallen comrades and respecting the opponent on the battlefield is nothing out of the ordinary; it's par for the course. As for the rights and wrongs of the reasons for such battles and later repercussions, well i guess that's always up for debate.

  10. Hanji, as Paji Harsharan ji has said, don't get stuck in brahmanvadee belief thinking that this will happen, that will happen. Whatever is going to happen will happen or not happen according to one's fate. May I also add karm to this too. Whatever happens is due to people's karm also. But who knows Wahegurus grace? They may change something any time they wish. And who has seen their previous karm? Nobody... So don't worry when you are to read Gurbani. Nobody is perfect, and obviously mistakes may be made. If we could do everything perfectly, we wouldn't be here. Only Waheguru is perfect and the Gurus have guided us how we can try to follow that path. " A child learning to walk, may fall down several times, before he walks and even run. " This bit I like Paji. One should get up every time they fall and try again. To OP, Don't have fear of anything going wrong, God does not punish for the question you have asked in your post. They already know what you are going to do and how, but you have to put in the effort of devotion yourself.

  14. This is great news. The last thing we need for French law abiding minorities is a racist leadership, on top of Hollande calling for the secular teaching of religion & Sarkozy’s political party (ump), in support of even restrictive measures on religious symbols in French public spaces. I was expecting them to make massive gains compared to previous years and more so after the attacks.. BBC News France's far-right National Front (FN) has failed to win a single region in the second round of elections, exit polls indicate. Early results suggest the party was beaten into third place, despite leading in six of 13 regions in the first round of votes a week ago. The polls predict Nicolas Sarkozy's centre-right Republicans will win most seats ahead of the ruling Socialists. Acknowledging defeat, Ms Le Pen pledged to keep fighting. "Nothing can stop us. Long live the French Republic! Long live the nation! Long live France!" she told her supporters. The far right's charm offensive Marine Le Pen: Taking French National Front to new highs and lows Marine Le Pen stood as a candidate in the northern region of Nord-Pas-de-Calais-Picardie. Her niece Marion Marechal-Le Pen was standing in Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, in the south. After both secured more than 40% of the vote in the first round, the trailing Socialist candidates in those regions pulled out so their voters could support the Republican candidate against the FN for the second round. One poll suggested Ms Le Pen secured 42.5% in the second round in her region, against the centre-right's 57.5%. Analysis: BBC's Hugh Schofield in Paris There can be no hiding that the results of the elections are a big personal blow to Marine Le Pen. She has lost the chance to govern a region and show the world that her party is serious. She has been reminded that however strongly the FN performs, the gates of power remain tightly closed. But in a way that suits her fine. Because what it all means is that nothing in France has changed. The two main parties continue sharing out the goodies (in this case deliberately conniving to keep hers as well). Meanwhile unemployment rises; terror stalks; the grim insurrectionary mood continues to spread. Marine's prospects for power may be limited, but her appeal is as strong as ever for France's growing numbers of disgruntled and disaffected. That French "ouf" of relief? It's also the noise you make when you get a fist in the abdomen. Xavier Bertrand, who is leading in Nord-Pas-de-Calais-Picardie, said the French had given "a lesson of rallying together, courage. Here we stopped the progression of the National Front." But Socialist Prime Minister Manuel Valls was less upbeat. He warned the "danger posed by the far right has not gone away, far from it." And Mr Sarkozy said now was the time "for in-depth debates about what worries the French", noting security concerns, unemployment and frustration with Europe. French regions have wide powers over local transport, education and economic development. According to one poll, the Republicans have secured about 40% of the nationwide vote, followed by the Socialists with 30% and the FN with 28%. Official results are expected early on Monday. The first round of voting on 6 December gave the FN the best election results in its history. It was the first electoral test since last month's Paris attacks, in which 130 people were killed - an attack claimed by the so-called Islamic State group. In the lead-up to the first round, opinion polls suggested that the popularity of the anti-immigration, anti-EU FN had increased since the deadly attacks. The FN had been hoping a strong performance would boost Marine Le Pen's chances for the 2017 presidential election.

  15. This is just a myth. Sikhs were never offered a Khalistan by the traitorous Angrez. They gave us a choice to either join Muslim Pak or Hindu India. They preferred that the Sikhs join Pakistan like the Sindhi Hindus who were later kicked out anyway by Muslims and now are a stateless people in India. But Master Tara Singh who came from Pothohar was smart to see through what was happening. No doubt joining Hindu India was not good but it would have been far worse had we joined Muslim Pak.The best bid we would have had is if all the Sikhs Maharajas (who had armies) and Sikh leadership had fought a war for independence while we still had a chance in the chaos and confusion of 1947.

  16. I sense an ulterior motive here. Why would they lift a ban on ISYF when Indian prime minister modi visited the UK just a few weeks ago and his national security advisory put together a shambles of a dossier alleging radicislation of British Sikhs. British Sikhs are not like muslim nutjobs who are ideology opposed to all non-sikhs or the west. British Sikhs are against the Indian state because of lack of self rule, lack of justice for events of 1984, lack of freedom and human rights and they have been doing this for 30+ years there is nothing new here. And these are the things that radicalises the Sikh community basically attacks against us and injustice we have suffered for many years. No community with any self respect puts up with that and will struggle against the oppressor no matter how long it takes.

  17. No one is swallowing the narrative of the Anglos otherwise these Sikhs would be promoting the British take over of Punjab as a good thiing. What is happening is that they are commemorating a battle in which the Sikhs had they had a better leadership would have defeated the British. This has been discussed before. NO SIKH that I know would ever say that it was a good thing that the Khalsa kingdom was annexed. Even those Sikhs who lived south of the Satluj whose were already under the British in areas of Ludhiana and under the rule of the Maharajas lamented at the loss of the kingdom. In fact if we look at Sikh history this one event had the most negative impact on the future history of the Sikhs even more than the ghallugharas or Bluestar. Since 1849 we have gone from being an independent nation who controlled a territory about the size of France to a small minority whose future is tied to the whims of the Hindu majority.

  20. Hanji, the sacrifices were for humanity as a whole, regardless of their religion at the time. There are good Hindus too, just as good Muslims or any other community. The sacrifices were made to show the world not to force people into their beliefs and to protect people (insaan) against oppression.

  21. Hunger strike has achieved some results. The issue has received mainstream attention. All human rights orgs took it up. One prisoner released and some others got parole (they had never got parole before). Couple of others shifted back to Punjab jails from other states. Issue of human rights violations in Punjab came to fore again and led to new revelations and investigations by journalists. They mobilised Sikhs in Punjab and elsewhere and showed this issue of Sikh prisoners did indeed matter to Sikhs. Otherwise they thought maybe no one was bothered or aware. Seeing even youth passionately supporting Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa has had an impact on Govt. I hope more results can be achieved.

  22. Well, not really, because you're suggesting Guru Sahib was unaware of the treachery Sikhs would face at the hands of the descendants of these pandits, so actually, you're saying Guru Sahib did not know everything, because if they had known it all, they wouldn't have sacrificed themselves for these people. What you fail to understand is the sacrifice made was not for Hindus or any other religion or race of people. The act of sacrifice itself is the key to it all. Who the sacrifice was given for is ultimately irrelevant. Didn't Guru Sahib say they'd give their head even if Islam was being subdued and its people butchered by whoever happened to be in-charge? You're making nonsensical statements that belittle the spilling of blood by great souls due to your attachment to labels regarding religion, background, etc. You're wrong.

  24. You're all wasting your time if you think Dallysingh will ever wake up and understand how India is the real enemy of the Sikhs. His mind is so full of hatred of the British and the rural Sikhs he just can't seem to get past that. That makes him so pathetic he doesn't even realise or understand how the anti-British venom he spews is exactly the same as the anti-British venom the the Indians spew. At the end of the day.....Dallysingh is nothing more than an Indian. You might as well call him Dally Ram. You can trawl back through everything that man has ever written on sikhsangat and you will never once find anything that displays a deep desire for Punjab and the Sikhs to be free from Indian occupation. The man is an Indian through and through. The things he says here are are exactly the same things the right wing Hindus say on right wing Hindu forums.....i.e the real enemy is Britain and British colonialism. Those supportng him need to grow and wake up.....i.e realise that they are giving the thumbs up to the same views that right wing hindus also have.

  30. I think it is driven from fear on their side. I see it as they are scared of blacks on an individual, physical basis but outside of their ability to cause temporary havoc like riots they aren't really scared of their culture. In fact, to the contrary, they actually exoticise and mimic some of their culture in how they talk, dress and the music they listen to (reggae, soul, R&B) thinking it is cool. With 'asians' they are driven of fear from our cultures and religions which they see as difficult to penetrate (as you've noticed) and a potential source of unification against them (baring Hindus who they see as effeminate, compliant b1tches). That also ties into why they are jumping around to derail the Anand karaj for Sikhs only movement. Thing is, a big arse, game Singh with a kirpan is still something ingrained in collective memory of older whites, and they are slightly wary of that. Back in days (70s/80s) believe it not some racist whites used to say "watch out for the ones with the turbans, they're the worst ones!" How times have changed... I think some mixed-race people resent asians because of some underlying envy they probably aren't consciously aware of. I think that feeling of not belonging here nor there effects some of them and makes them angry towards some more insular communities. Remember they are often taught that they are the future and the more mixed raced people there are, the less racism will manifest. So they might even be thinking we are holding back progress. Also they are probably subconsciously picking up on the general contempt felt for 'weak, smelly pakis'. All of them (white, black, mixed-race) also probably feel excluded by us? It's not as complicated as that - they simply know they are infinitely more likely to get their ar5ses whooped by them on a personal level than us.

  31. Good and bad in all people. Just gotta becareful in the area's and times you live in and if you do get attacked you either defend yourself or you report the anti-sikh hate crime to Sikh organisations and the authorities so these incidents can be logged and actioned. Sikhs are too passive when it comes to being victimised....either you unite fight back as a community or you get rolled over its as simple as that.

  32. There are sadly a lot of mental health issues in the black community, so it may be some random nutters (like with the recent Leytonstone attack) . Other thing is that with all the demonisation of 'asians' in the mainstream white media it's inevitable that some weak minded people (black and white) will be indoctrinated to see some sort of 'enemy' when they see a brown person who has retained some cultural markers. Had to pass through Leytonstone the other day. It was weird, people looked sullen and depressed. Staff at the tube station looked nervous too. One other thing: certain west Indian thinking sort of inculcates a short of violent contempt towards perceived weaklings. Like I've said before folks, when it gets a bit crazy out there, it tends to make certain people act crazily in public. Noticed some younger asian boys making sure they got on same tube carriage as me today, they must be aware of the threat out there?

  34. I don't want to run around saying 'I'm not Muslim! Please, I'm not Muslim!' because I'm scared of what some goray might think. This isn't because I particularly care about Muslims but mainly because I don't want any white pr**ks dictating my life to the extent that they have me acting like a scared b1tch like that. Plus I don't see whitey like you do (you must be a peasant), these mofos will stab us in our back as soon as it suits their purpose. I have thought about being in the middle of some white ranting on public transport (it happened to my nephew once but he handled it nicely), and at that point I'd tell them I don't want to hear their ish because I'm Sikh. The problem is with those people who are just hating for irrational reasons - I don't want to be running around after them. Screw them, let them hate us. The big question is why are you so petrified? Are you scared of having to fight goray?

  35. This young man's beard is besides the point. There is a certain bullying atmosphere prevailing at these 'Sikhi camps' where, for a week or so, kids are left for hours at a time with sanctimonious sevadars who guilt trick them into making ill-informed decisions they will regret when they leave on Sunday. I mean come on, the OP has been an Amritdhari for three years and he still doesn't seem to have ever heard the word amritdhari (amritshakt is not a noun) - the sevadars and the boy's parents clearly didn't do their job properly. We need to confront the reality that these camps are not producing very many well-informed and well-adjusted young Gursikhs, mostly clueless young kids pressured into conformity and lifelong commitments that they will inevitably come to regret. Guilt is not a good foundation for faith, and Guru's Amrit has to be taken into one's heart willingly. You were never willing veerji, just malleable. If you believe that you can live with becoming a Patit (dare I say, Google it?) remove your kes brother. But I would advise you to read about Sikhi. Start attempting to understand the Bani rather than just muttering it, read about the history of your people, which no other nation of this earth comes close to matching in point of valor and sacrifice. After that, you may find that taking Amrit was the best decision you ever made.

Yeah, sure you get some paks getting stoned (and sometimes even drunk) after fasting is over; but what I've seen on Southall Broadway during and especially after a nagar kirtan is infinitely worse than this. PS - I think that association between xmas and Jesus is long dead, in England at least.

  37. Yes indeed! The month of December is full of 'dard' for those that care to spend quiet time in recollection. I would also add, reciting the 'Zafarnama' during this period. When our dear Guru ji vacated Ananpur Sahib together with his companions, Sarsa's tide was too high to provide a safe passage for them, so, lots of bad things followed. But, it's everyone's personal choice how they want to spend this montth.
