Satsriakal to all and ms514 Ji!

It is interesting to note that every time you fail to provide references from Gurbani and come back to your cult and personal views.

One should not blame others for his spiritual bankruptcy.

Better visit the holy birth place of Guru Gobind Singh Ji namely Patna Sahib and the Joti Jot Place of Him namely Hazoor Sahib in Nander to receive the Tilak.

Get prepared first seeking the company of true Saints to understand Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

I hope you come out of Taboos to receive Tilak in this life.

Let me repeat these wonderful Vaaks from Gurbani.

sMK ck® mwlw iqlku ibrwijq dyiK pRqwpu jmu firE ]

"sankh chakar maalaa tilak biraajit daykh partaap jam dari-o."

Watching glory of the adorned with Sankh, Chakra, Mala and Tilak, the messenger of death is scared.

inrBa BE rwm bl grijq jnm mrn sNqwp ihirAo ]

"nirbha-o bha-ay raam bal garjit janam maran santaap hiri-o." SGGS page 1105

Becoming fearless Raam's Power thunders, the pains of birth and death are taken away.

Another great reference is this.

siqgurU kl siqgur iqlku siq lwgY so pY qrY ]

"satguroo kal satgur tilak sat laagai so pai tarai." SGGS page 1391

Satguroo, Kal says is Satguroo Tilak. Attached with this Truth, he swims across.

You wrote " . . . you will not attract many chelae with that attitude."

But I have a different impression. I feel that many Baabays are seeking a chaylaa like me to run their business smoothly in the future.

No thanks, I do not know the recipe to cook Waheguroo and sell it like many sweet makers.

Satsriakal to all!

Very well understood.

Only a little step further is needed.

What should we do when God appears on the horizon as the silly red line?

I have heard that God's light first appears red when it exposes in various colors.

I hope you get some time to sing the praise of red color with Guru's Baanee.

There are wonderful citations in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji praising the red color.

Sat Sri Akal:

Personal views yes...cult...well, I ain't the one with the website trying to promote people to your special "satsangs".

So you want references? Ok...

poojaa thilak theerathh eisanaanaa ||

performing worship services, wear ceremonial religious marks on foreheads, and take ritual cleansing baths at sacred shrines of pilgrimage.

nivalee karam aasan chouraaseeh ein mehi saa(n)th n aavai jeeo ||2||

Performing the inner cleansing practice with water and adopt the eighty-four Yogic postures; but still, there is no peace in any of these. ||2||

(Guru Arjan Dev Ji, Raag Maajh, 98).

thilak charaavai paaee paae ||

You apply a ceremonial tilak mark to its forehead, and fall at its feet.

...

eih bidhh koe n thariou meeth ||3||

No one has ever been saved in this way, friend. ||3||

(Guru Arjan Dev Ji, Raag Raamkalee, 888).

naavahu dhhovahu thilak charraavahu such vin soch n hoee ||6||

You may bathe and wash, and apply a ritualistic tilak mark to your forehead, but without inner purity, there is no understanding. ||6||

(Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Raag Raamkalee, 903).

thilak kadtehi eisanaan kar a(n)thar kaalaekha(n) ||

They apply ceremonial marks to their foreheads, and take cleansing baths, but they are blackened within.

(Guru Arjan Dev Ji, Raag Maaroo, 1099).

Now for your quotations:

sa(n)kh chakr maalaa thilak biraajith dhaekh prathaap jam ddariou ||

He is adorned with the conch, the chakra, the mala and the ceremonial tilak mark on his forehead; gazing upon his radiant glory, the Messenger of Death is scared away.

Who does this refer to? Read further, and it gives the full story...it was an Avtar of another Yuga who blessed Ambreek, NOT any of the Guru Sahiban.

Your other reference:

"satguroo kal satgur tilak sat laagai so pai tarai."

It stated that the Tilak is of Truth (sat) - tilak sat laagai - not some physical Tilak.

Now, look at what is the Tilak per Guru Granth Sahib Ji:

thilak lilaatt jaanai prabh eaek ||

Let the knowledge of the One God be the ceremonial mark on your forehead.

(Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Raag Aasaa, 355).

jugath dhhothee surath choukaa thilak karanee hoe ||

Those who take the Way as their loincloth, and intuitive awareness their ritualistically purified enclosure, with good deeds their ceremonial forehead mark,

Bwau Bojnu nwnkw ivrlw q koeI koie ]1]

bhaao bhojan naanakaa viralaa th koee koe ||1||

and love as their food - O Nanak, they are very rare. ||1||

(Guru Nanak Dev Ji, Raag Saarang, 1245).

Therefore, Gurbani vastly references the Tilak as a metaphor NOT literally.

Satsriakal to all and ms514 Ji!

Thanks for the long awaited references from you.

Without true Simran of Naam silence is not achieved and God is not recognized.

This is right that demonic activities lead one away from God. But the angelic activities alone also do not help realizing God.

It is only true Simran of Shabad or in other words Naam Jap that leads a person recognizing God.

The true Guru sings true words "Pooja (worship), Tilak (Sign of remembering on Forehead), Teerath (pilgrimage), Isnaanaa (Bathing), Nivalee Karam (Cleaning Sensual Organs) and Eighty-four Aasans (Postures), in these silence is not achieved."

It is true. One cannot experience silence while he is busy with activities. It does not matter how high those are graduated by the priests.

Silence, the Godly Attribute, is reached with Simran.

Gurdev is not suggesting here anyone to stop doing above activities. It is the mischief of the mind which preaches us false and we get lost in Maya again.

A person sleeps in 'Shav-aasan', sits on a sofa, chairs or on the floor in 'Sahaj-aasan', visits Gurudwara (Teerath) and takes a bath or cleans sensual organs every day, prays (does Pooja) and wears signs (Tilak) to remember God.

No one can live a healthy life without these.

Please do not encourage illusions that by leaving some symbols and wearing others, it becomes easier to reach Truth.

Once true Simran is received, it does not matter which activities are performed by an individual daily or professionally.

In this context alone our Gurus have made us aware to search for true Simran through God's Grace. No where they have suggested us to stop, hate or reject our daily business.

You provided the wonderful reference from Guru Nanak Ji.

iqlku illwit jwxY pRBu eyku ]

"tilak lilaat jaanai parabh ayk."

Tilak on the forehead knows God One.

Would you please explain how the translator has come to know God as ONE when he has discarded Tilak, also a Godly creation? It looks like some Gyanis are happy to know God partly.

Those, who are blessed with true Simran, will confirm these words from the true Guru.

nwnk siqguir ByitAY pUrI hovY jugiq ]

"naanak satgur bhayti-ai pooree hovai jugat."

Nanak, meeting the True Guru, the art is accomplished.

"hasandi-aa khaylandi-aa painandi-aa khaavandi-aa vichay hovai mukat." SGGS Ang 522-10

Laughing, playing, dressing, eating, liberation happens within.

Love to all.

There are literally thousands of Pandits in India which wear Tilaks and yet encourage such factions as the RSS and Shiv Sena to kill fellow humans because of their differing religion. Tell me, how is it that these people adopt religious insignia and yet preach an evil message?

i dont get one thing- everyone is quoting but i dont see anything suggesting that the tilak is good OR bad.

Guru Ji seem to say that tilak and pilgrimages are pointless if done for the sake of it me thinks.

but yet dont we go to Harmandir Sahib and do ishnaan in sarovar- ie, pilgrimage and bathing!

so it isnt wrong i dont think but it depends why u do what u do.

pointless rituals are pointless lol
