i personally dont think that u can compare what happened to saddam to what happened with indira. YES they both committed very inhumane acts but the difference here is the majority of world leaders were against saddam the majority of the world was against him for what he was doing .. but indira no one knew what was going on because everything released to the press was censored to make her look "good" , my point being sikhs wouldn't have the slightest chance to 'capture her, lock her up and put her to trial'

and also assasination isnt the same as a death sentence... sure the outcome is the same but death sentence is a judge (someone from the outside looking in - even though this guy was iraqi was he a victim? did he feel the pain others felt?i understand a judge needs to be impartial but then how can they truely know if a death sentence is right??) in a court of law deciding whether or not u qualify to stay alive :D

i agree with pakandi and sitar girl totalllllyyyyy its all politics (cept for the palastine stuff cuz i didnt read that bit tongue.gif lol) they are all as bad as each other cept some leaders do it in a sly way ie BUSHY WUSHY who tries to fool people into thinkin hes doing it for the greater good of mankind...

i totally agree with what sitar girl said "why now" - like when he said all that backwass that started it off "im giving u 48 hours to hand over power or leave iraq" - WHO IS HE TO SAY THAT?? United Nations should have been the ones to say it

heckling at him while he had the noose around his neck- that was nasty dont get me wrong - i understand why they did it

what harm was he gonna do to the world by being locked up for life?atleast then he'd have time to think about his actions!!!!

i'll say it again i think sentencing someone to death is wrong if that makes me a Kat and a sell out so be it - no matter how wrong someone is u should always try and show some kind of compassion, is that not what Guru ji would want?

ps. the bit abt all terrorists being muslim- their not muslim - they THINK they're muslim but realy theyr dillusional

& also lol i dont think sitar girl meant she doesnt see the point of jews in that way! i think she meant she doesnt see the point of their argument??

Seriously Sharam Karo! He was a Murderer he killed people in Mustard Gas bomb in COLD BLOOD with NO justification...I know many Kurdish refugees in this country and the things Saddam did to these peoples families is Horrendous!

If he was to do this to Sikhs you people supporting him would be jumping up and down like Bandars, But Oh just because he tortuered muslims it doesnt realy matter he's a good man just because he created a Gurdwara or whatever. Have a Consenious Man he tourted old women; he gave permission to his sons to go raping random women,

How the hell was he any different from Indira? she murdered PEOPLE in cold blood and so did Saddam stop thinking about relgion for a second!

He was a Tyrant and a Dictator...simple!

Forgive my mistakes!

Guest Narinder Singh

The fact that the US invasion of Iraq has killed more than triple the amount of people Saddam has killed cannot be overlooked. However, Saddam was found guilty and brought to justice, and the ugliness of this war shouldnt be used to cover up the actions of this dictator.

Its really hard to comprehend how Sikhs who call Indra a witch, <admin-profanity filter activated>, kuthi and so on for murdering so many Sikhs are actually sympathetic towards Saddam, those lives he destroyed are just as valuable as any Sikh life. Bush isnt any different though, he hides behind the banner of "democracy" just as India has done for so many years, that monkey will get whats coming to him in this life or after.

There is a deep routed hatred in some Sikhs towards Muslims and Hindus that people are actually trying to justify, its disgusting, a true Sikh has no room for hatred in his heart, where there's love, hate cannot reside, its either or.

To some things up, im tired of supporting "one" cause and being have to chose sides, every nation in the world is corrupt and every "ruler" has the blood of innocent people on their hands.

Fateh.

    • The Mind is Jyot Saroop (Waheguru), but the mind is under the influence of five evils… Through Naam Simran( Rememberance), the mind will begin to detach from evil, and get back to its original form ( MANN TU JYOT SAROOP HEH)… Until the mind breaks free from the five evils, one will go through the cycle of paap and punn….which leads to Karma… Naam Simran destroys past karma, and prevents new karma coming into fruition… I did this, I did that… This non realisation of the Jyot Saroop gives rise to paap and Punn, which in turn gives birth to suffering and misery…
    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
