Im disgusted by some of your comments. You ridicule a Sikh who took Amrit from the hands of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, who was blessed with five arrows of Guru Sahib, who brought justice to Wazir Khan after the killing of the Shote Sahibzadey, who established the first Sikh raj, witnessed the execution of his three year old son and himself went through one of the most brutual executions in Sikh history.

Why dont you people think about who wrote these so called historical granths, what was the writers agenda? Im sure many of these writers were just like todays Kushwant Singh's.

Look at the kurbani of Baba Banda Singh Ji Bahadur, and look at the kurbani of your so called "Tat Khalsa". People who call themselves Tat Khalsa (Original Khalsa) are most likely everything but that. Its like the Akalis who are anything but true Akalis, its like the Nirankaris who are far from Nirankar.

Baba Ji was gaining popularity amongst the masses, the leaders who were only hungry for power used their political leverage to try and destroy Baba Ji's reputation, why dont you people get it? This is the same thing that has happened in recent history, the real Singhs gave their lives for the Panth during the 80's and 90's while our so called "leaders" spat on their names and refer to them using disgusting terms such as "terrorists".

Just listen to the katha of Prof. Darshan Singh Ji on this very topic, he'll put it straight. If any of you want me to upload it, please let me know.

before you tell others to be careful what they say about Gursikhs, maybe you should watch you say about shaheed singhs. Writer of Pracheen Panth Prakash is SHAHEED rattan singh bhangu. I dont know if you wanna be comparing a shaheed with khushwant singh.

Bhai Rattan Singh Bhangu got his information from his ancestors and older sikhs and then wrote it in pracheen panth prakash. However, people forget that panth Prakash was written like 150 yeare after the Baba Banda Singh Bahadur events. Just think how many times the story would have changed as it was passed from one person to the next in the 150 years it took before Bhai Rattan Singh wrote down the story in Panth Prakash. Play a game of telephone and see for yourself how easily stories can be changed.

First off, i never mentioned Rattan Singh Bhangu or singled anyone out by name for that matter.

I was speaking about the source of information, and if this information was being passed down for 150 years, im sure there were many false claims that were made, considering that fact that many of the leaders (ones who claim to be the Tat Khalsa) were strongly against Baba Ji because his growing popularity among the masses, its like the Akali's (the leaders) who turned against Baba Jarnail Singh Ji because of his growing popularity.

We need to look at the jeevans of the Tat Khalsa and Baba Banda Singh Ji Bahadur and compare the two, look at who did the real seva and who were just hungry for power.

First off the only people who are against Baba Banda Singh are the Nihangs, the majority of mainstream Sikhs accept Baba Banda Singh as a great Gursikh and a great Shaheed. When people lose their faculty of critical analysis that is when they will start believing in everything anyone says or has written. Rattan Singh Bhangu wrote his book 150 years after Baba Banda Singh, in between those 150 years that Khalsa had split between Bandai and Tat. Although this occurred during the last years of Baba Banda Singh, the factionalism worsened after the Shaheedi of Baba Banda Singh and there were clashes between these groups and only an agreed wrestling bout between two champions from each side decided the issue of Akal Takht . It is understandable that the elders from whom he had received his information having lived through these times would have reflected their anti-Bandai bias. Rattan Singh writes that Baba Banda Singh went against the injunctions that Guruji gave him. We need to analyse these injunctions. Why would Guruji want the whole city of Sirhind to be destroyed when it was Wazir Khan who was at fault for his crimes? If as Jassa says Baba Banda Singh failed to destroy all of Sirhind then why are the same beautiul buildings still standing as the Khalsa took over control of Sirhind 40 years after Banda Singh. Why didn't Gursikhs like Baba Jassa Singh Ahluwalia complete the wishes of the Guru and destroy Sirhind totally? The injunctions against marrying is another made up fact. Why would Guruji deny marriage for Baba Banda Singh when the Khalsa is a grehsti jeevan?

I do not know where you get your information from but your arguments are full of lies.

<<< the very first hukam of guru sahib which banda bahadar forgot was about sirhand ... guru sahib told him to destroy sirhand fully but on seeing the beautiful buildings banda bahadar decided not destroy them .... >>>

This is totally wrong. Firstly, Baba Ji had been an ascetic for a long time I doubt whether a few buildings would have swayed him. Baba Ji fell to his knees when he saw Guru Maharaj Ji, you think he would have gone against the wishes of Guru Ji ? Guru Maharaj never gave the order to destroy Sirhand, the order was to punish those who had wronged the Khalsa Panth. Now, as the Sikhs rallied behind Bhunda Singh Ji there was a fire burning in the hearts of everyone, that these are the people who put to death in such a cruel manner the Chotay Sahibzadey, so when the battle took place it was fierce and not an inch was given.

<<< and one of the pahari raja offered him his daughter ... again he got against the teachings of guru sahib .... and married her .... at this point banda bahadur became dumb .... he lost his power to think to plan .... he tried changing the mareyada of panth like no non veg in singhs no garlic etc ... after this >>>>

It is true that Bhunda Singh did take a wife and Guru Ji had told him not to, this was because those were times of turmoil and Guru Sahib Ji knew that a leader had to be free of family ties to lead his people. This stuff about going dumb and changing maryadha is all rubbish. Baba Ji was a true Khalsa who took amrit from Guru Ji himself.

<<< he began calling himself guru .... started his parchar .... >>>>

All lies.

<<<< now mughals played their role .... they did friendship with banda bahadur and told them the subba of lahore khan bahadur wants to bi his sikh .... and he is coming .... every day small amount of force from lahore come to banda bahadur to take his charan paul and set their tents near his fort .... within few months when banda bahadar realised whats going on he was traped by his so called sikhs from all sides and finaly he got caught >>>>

This is the worst kind of lies. The Mughals became friends with Bhunda Singh ????? The same Bhunda Singh who had routed the musslay from town after town after town? I think not. So Bhunda Singh pitched his tents just so that Sikhs could come for charan paul ? which planet are you living on?

As for some one saying that “why would Guru Ji deny Bhunda Singh marriage when Sikhs are given grist jeeven” well things are never black and white. Yes, we are given grist jeeven but the jeeven of a non-family person is no less important, infact more khatten. Bhai Gurdass ji never married and he was at the sides of Guru RamDass Ji, Guru Arjun dev Ji and Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji and they never complained.

Jassa the arguments you make do not stand up to the arguments made by the others. Banda Singh was caught when after being under siege conditions for many months and the provisions being emptied, the moghuls broke down the fortress door, and seeing little or effectuive repsonse from the starving Sikhs captured them, killing some as well. What more can there be to this episode?

And Jassa you would do well to remmeber that Baba Binod Singh was with Baba Banda Singh at Gurdas Nangal whenthey differing over tactics wentthier seprate ways. Binod Singh leaving the fortress tried to fight his way out and became shaheed with his jatha unable to escape the siege.

Also you would do well to remember that Baba Baaj Singh was also captured from this fortress and taken to Dlehi along side Baba Banda Singh. you call Baba Banda Singh an apostate, but you glorify Baaj Singh as a true Sikh of Guru Gobind Singh., when they from the time of 1708 Nander lived and died together. try answering the questions that some of the other people have posted here, instead of repeating the same thing over and over.

the thing is that the force didnt moved around the gurdas nangal as enemy force their was a sandhi between lahore and banda singh bahadur ... otherwise banda bahadur didnt noticed he is being traped ????

mughals set their tent on excuse that they see him as their peer .... banda bahadar also believed that mughals are afraid of him because of his karamat .... forces didnt move their in 7 - 8 days ....

they slowly increase their number .... when banda bahadar was fully traped ... they stoped food supply from out side ....

and about baba baaj singh .... they only reason they were with banda bahadar was becuase it was hukam of guru gobind singh ji never to leave banda bahadar .... only because of this reason ....

non of granth or book written before 1950 says anything other then this ....
