I'm pretty sure that Indians knew the earth was round during the time of the Gurus. I think Brahmagupt or some other Indian astronomer figured it out a long time ago

It could be a flatish section of a much larger sphere like elipsoid. 

I like flat earth because it challenges people to question faith in science in favor of scientific verification.

The Vedas have got a a lot of things right. I remember reading 9 paragraphs from the Vedas, each paragraph describing the different stages of the embryo. 

 

And then the Vedas describe the earth as a disc!
