Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa

Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

Sadh Sangat Ji, I have a question regarding Baba Deep Singh Ji's shaheedi. I have always seen Baba Deep Singh Ji's picture when he is fighting with his head on his palm and khanda in the other. But few months ago, I read in a book by Sikh Missionary College that Baba Deep Singh got a deep cut on his neck and it leaned to a side. He supported his head with one hand and kept fighting with the other hand.

I have also read the same similar things online, such as on http://www.sikh-history.com/sikhhist/warri...riors/deep.html

Yesterday I was talking to a guy who had links with Sikh Missionary College and he has done their 2 years Course. I shared this with him and he said the following: "We do not believe in Brahmanvad. If Baba Deep Singh's dead actually fell on the ground, the person who reminded baba ji of his promice, did he talk to baba deep singh's head or his body to? Many misleading Sakhis have been added to our history." I kept listening to it... I just want to make sure who is right?

bhul chuk di khima...

Sometimes the problem with Sikh missionary is that they like to be scientific. As a result of this they deny the way Baba Deep Singh Jee got Shaheed, because scientifically a person cannot go fighting the way Baba Deep Singh Jee did. But Sikh missionary should realize that Baba Deep Singh Jee had the power of Naam. With the power of Naam, anything’s possible.

Everything else of Sikh missionary is alright, it’s just this aspect of Baba Jee’s shaheedi which I (and most of the panth) don’t agree with Sikh missionary.

BTW, Sikh missionaries booklet about Baba Banda SIngh Jee Bahadur is one of the best I have read about Baba Banda Singh after Ganda SIngh's book.

Sat Sri Akal:

History says his head was cut off completely, and after the reminder from another Sikh, he picked up his severed head and fought on. This cut and leaning to one side is new material which is not correct as per the traditional history.

It is amazing to me that when someone is unable to comprehend the limitless power of the Almighty that it must immediately be dumbed down to the lowest denominator. Can these Missionary folks show any historical proof (aka. historical accounts) which state that Baba Ji's head was not completely decapitated but merely deeply cut?

I appreciate the work all of these groups do in Parchar, but please do not distort history while doing it just because you cannot believe it. What next? Baba Atal Sahib was not able to reanimate his dead friend? Come on!!!

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

SHAHEED JATHEDAR BRAHM GIANI BABA DEEP SINGH JI KHALSA had his head cut off and he held it in his hand while fighting.

I wont go into too much detail and will try to keep this short.

SIKHI is not about logic...its about SHARDA. If it was about logic, explain Guru Nanak Dev Ji's PUNJA hitting the rock, explain Guru Arjan Dev Ji sitting on a hot plate, explain Bhai Taru Singh Ji's scalp being ripped off.

Explain Bhai Mani Singh Ji's body being cut limb by limb and still reciting Sri Japji Sahib. His limbs were thrown into a basket after being cut and it is witnessed by the executioner that the Bhog of Sri Japji Sahib occured in the basket. Some how he kept on reciting Bani.

These are just a few examples of many, I'm sure you all know more.

REMEMBER THIS KHALSA JI:

There were MUSLIMS around that time who kept records and journals as well. Ever read Jahanghir, Aurangzed or any other Muslim's journals????

The MUGHALS who were fighting BABA DEEP SINGH JI....they wrote in their journals that they WITNESSED BABA JI and OTHER SINGHS fighting without heads. So are the Muslim's records wrong as well??? Why would they make the SINGHS look good by writing about them??

Bottom line is....dont look at everything logically...if you do....you wont understand what SIKHI really is. Science does not believe in GOD...so dont let science control and dominate your thought process.

i hope this makes sense, forgive me for any mistakes.

Singh

I also believe that Baba Deep Singh faught without his head, but some ppl have hard time believing it. That Sikh missionary person also said that Sikh religion is scientific religion, but he doesn't know that Science doesn't belive in God.

JO TAO PREM KHEDAN KA CHAAO. SER DHAR TALI GALI MERI AAO, and Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Jee stood upto this perfectly. Long back when i wasn't into Sikhi, i saw Nihangs perform Gatka in the middle east ( surprised? rolleyes.gif ). i didn't know anything about Sikhi. My mama who is a few years older to me was with me and had done all his schooling in Punjab, where he also studied Sikh history. The name of the leader of the jatha performing was Deep Singh, and thats when my mama told me about Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Jee. This was the first time i heard about Babaji, and believe me, i was amazed as to how he fought without his head!

ok whats next : oh Guru Gobind Singh Jee cut the goat's head not the panj pyaare's ( so we are supposed to be what? goats or lions? :umm: )...oh thats not Guru Nanak's hand imprint on that stone ( yea they had laser technology back then:D )

FAITH my friends...FAITH...FAITH can do everything for u...i agree Sikhi is the most logical religion, but look at real life...besides the X-files, i am sure u all know certain things that happen in daily life that have no logic

al/scientific/rational explaination.

this is true ........ but modern day sikhs believe in science and logic more then in naam..... if u have the power of naam like dhan dhan shaheed baba deep singh ji did .... u would be surprised what laws of nature u could break ..... his head was completely cut off ..... u can vist gurudawara shaheed ganj in the darbar sahib complex for proof

    • Umm, that's totally irrational, bro. There are plenty of prakash-dara Singhs in Punjab (less than we'd like, but still plenty). No one cares that you are sabat soorat. It isn't 1986. You can walk around in chola, kurta-pajama, or jeans. Whatever. If you want the look @dallysingh101 is referring to, just go into a cheap clothing shop (not a Western-style mall) and buy some shirts for 250 rupees or a track suit for 2000 rupees. You'll get the cheap stuff made in some sweatshop in Bombay.
    • The Mind is Jyot Saroop (Waheguru), but the mind is under the influence of five evils… Through Naam Simran( Rememberance), the mind will begin to detach from evil, and get back to its original form ( MANN TU JYOT SAROOP HEH)… Until the mind breaks free from the five evils, one will go through the cycle of paap and punn….which leads to Karma… Naam Simran destroys past karma, and prevents new karma coming into fruition… I did this, I did that… This non realisation of the Jyot Saroop gives rise to paap and Punn, which in turn gives birth to suffering and misery…
    • I agree we're not born with sin like the Christians think. Also I agree we have effects of karma. But Gurbani does state that the body contains both sin and charity (goodness): ਕਾਇਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪਾਪੁ ਪੁੰਨੁ ਦੁਇ ਭਾਈ ॥ Within the body are the two brothers sin and virtue. p126 Actually, we do need to be saved. Gurbani calls this "udhaar" (uplift). Without Satguru, souls are liable to spiritual death: ਜਿਨਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸੇ ਭਾਗਹੀਣ ਵਸਿ ਕਾਲ ॥ p40 Those who have not met Satguru Purakh are unfortunate and liable to death. So, yeah, we do need to be saved, and Guru ji does the saving. The reason Satguru is the one to save is because God has given Satguru the "key" (kunji): ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਹਥਿ ਕੁੰਜੀ ਹੋਰਤੁ ਦਰੁ ਖੁਲੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਿਆ ॥੭॥ In the True Guru's hand is the key. None else can open the door. By perfect good fortune the Guru is met. p124
    • That's unfortunate to hear. Could you give any more information? Who was this "baba"? He just disappeared with people's money? Obviously, you should donate your money to known institutions or poor people that you can verify the need of through friends and family in Punjab.
    • Sangat ji,  I know a family who went Sevewal to do seva sometimes end of 2019. They returned last year in great dismay and heart broken.  To repent for their mistakes they approached panj pyaare. The Panj gave them their punishment / order to how t make it up which, with Kirpa, they fulfilled.  They were listening to a fake Baba who, in the end, took all the "Donations " and fled sometime over a year ago. For nearly 4 years this family (who are great Gursikhs once u get to know them) wasted time and effort for this fake Baba. NOT ONLY this one fam. But many, many did worldwide and they took their fam to do seva, in village Sevewal, city Jaitho in Punjab. In the end many families lost money in thousands being behind this Baba. The family, on return, had to get in touch with all the participants and told them to stop.  I am stating this here to create awareness and we need to learn from whom we follow and believe. It's no easy but if we follow the 3 S (Sangat, Simran and Seva) we will be shown the light. As I am writing this the family in question have been doing the same since 2008 onwards and they fell for this Baba... it is unbelievable and shocking.  This am writing in a nutshell as am at work on my break so not lengthy but it deserves a great length.  Especially the family in question, who shed light on youngsters about Sikhi 20 plus years!!
