Sat Sri Akal:

1699 Ji, that place designates where Baba Deep Singh Ji's head fell after his body obtained its final rest.

Of it, I have heard two stories. One is that Baba Ji kept fighting and fighting until the Mughals finally were defeated and, with one great toss, tossed his head into the parikarma of Harimandir Sahib. The other has Baba Ji actually entering Harimandir Sahib, bowing down and laying his head in the act of matha tek. Either way, his head was chopped completely and he held his head in his hand.

The point by Jujhari Sahib is very important. It is not just Sikhs glorifying their own history. Even the Mughals recorded this fact.
