Recommended Posts

How does this make you feel brothers and sisters?

We've got a choice to make individually and as a quom. Is this what Sikhs are about?

this whole cast thing wont be around among punjabi sikhs for too long. sikhs are leaving punjab in great numbers, which means sooner or later the next generation of non indian sikhs will realise how pendu the cast thing and also the number of people converting to sikhi might also rise because more people will find about sikhi due to increasing sikh immigration in certain countries. best thing for sikhi right now is punjabi sikhs leaving punjab.

how many people are truly unaware of what caste they belong to

it appears in India that no quom has been able to get rid of caste and mabye it never will

but even if the identity does not disapear at the very least there should be no discrimination based on caste - This has been reflected by the rise of parties in India like the BSP who now rule UP

In Punjab we dont have the same assertion

Look at the recent elections in Punjab - In a state with 55% Sikhs and about 40% Hindus we had 9 of 13 MPS elected were Sikhs

we have a Jat component of about 30% of the population and yet are almost 70% of the representation

This is reflected in all parts of the system in Punjab

Waheguruji Bless!!

There is one and only one religion Sikhism and no other sub-divisions. Our Guruji has taught us "Aval Allah Noor Upaya Kudrat Ke Sabh Bande" A true sikh is the one who follows his Guru... Satnam Waheguruji

I would rather say, the people who call themselves Sikhs and then discriminate people by castes and creeds are no more Sikhs but only a false identity of Sikhs. Because True Sikhs follow Sachche Paathshahji...

By discriminating and hurting people, one would never achieve any happiness in life. Why give people tears? Why make them cry? Why that pain and fear? Why yet the need for food, clothing and shelter? Why yet the illiteracy? Why...?

It is greatest sin to believe in casteism when our gurus banned casteism. During the wedding of Guru Nanak Dev ji people from all castes and creeds joined in barat much to the annoyance of pandits. Although all Gurus belonged to khatri not the trading but the warrior one castes they abolished casteism and according to histroic accounts jat sikh of punjab r different from jats of haryana ,up and rajastan. Jats of punjabs were most untouchables themselves.Near durbar shaib Guru Arjun dev ji settled shoemakers( i will not use word chamar which is disgreaceful). Ranreta baba jiwan singh ji also belonged to backward class. The low castes should join and should believe in guru panth and guru granth.
