When there are a million other names available why give a baby Guruji's name , that too when you are not even sure if it is right naming a child with Guruji's name .

Good points have been brought up.

My daughter was named by Guru Granth Sahib literally, the first word was Darshan so instead of taking the D we just kept the whole word.

The thing is you should live your life up to your name, you should reflect your name.

no i dont think thats right because people do tlk about ppl behind their back. Think about what they can say to that person and how they say it like arjun is a blah!.....in my heart i dont think its right :)

Personally there's nothing wrong with naming your children after the Guru's names. If anything its a great encouragment.

Also the name 'Arjun' is a popular male given name in India, Nepal and Sri Lanka. Its been used for centuries, way before the Guru's times.

So to say people may use the name for slandering doesn't really hold up anything in my opinion!

The meaning of the word should be encouraged to be used rather then how it sounds..
