And you talk of heavy drinking meat events after weddings in the gurdwara - who has the most raucous events i.e. booze flowing, majority meat lucnhes, followed by a couple of fights int he car park? Jatts I think you will find. and YOU cannot deny that. Smacks of ignorance and hypocrisy.

Who really cares about the techincal "caste" specifics of the alcohol consumption? The activities are anti Sikh just like smoking is. And when Prabhandik committees promote alcohol, meat and parties on Gurdwara properties then they are highly unlikely to implement any controls on smoking. RST Birmingham is old news anyway and with Maharaj's Kirpa the Committee have taken the brave step of stopping the Gurdwara hall being used for booze parties.

One can accuse you of the ignorance and hypocrisy as you're the one clearly stirring the caste cauldron here!

"I have seen with my own eyes a picture of Vishkarma in Woolwich Ramgharia."

If you would be so kind as to post a photo of this, in your guru ka seva, we might be able to take this seriously.....................................

until hen I can only assume that these are delusions based on the lack of oxygen available in YOUR kennel...............

Who is 'WE'? Are you part of Ramgharia board or something? I didn't have a camera and i don't live anywhere near there. So did you want me to take the photo down?

If you care so much why don't you ring Woolwich and ask them to clarify for you , in your guru ka seva.

[sant Jarnail Singh was a Grusikh...no he is not a Guru but he was a chardikala, rehitvaan, abhiyaasi, naam rasia Sikh of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee.]

Good, at least we have established that. So photos of him along side real gurus in the gurdwara?? meaning??

Are you saying that there shouldn’t be pictures of Baba Deep Singh Jee, Bhai Gurdas Jee, Baba Buddha Jee, Chotte Sahibzadey in gurdwara's too?

I am not for one moment denying that the suffering of these innocent people was inflicted by the indian army, however, if he was so brave and so supreme, why hide in the gurdwara? Why not go openly in the streets and fight his "suva lakh"?

Surely your naïve logic could be applied to Guru Gobind Singh Jee when they were surrounded at Anadpur for 8months...did the Khalsa not fight from inside the kila for 8months...its called strategic fighting. The Khalsa of the past were far to superior and intellectual to fall for this bravado nonsense...they fought all battle’s strategically. By assuming all Khalsa did was just run into every battle without any thought is just sheer insult!!!

When Guru Jee and the 40 sikhs were outnumbered enormously a Chamkaur Sahib, they could have just all walked onto the battle field at straight away without any strategy...but they didn’t...there is a reason. The Singh’s inside Sri Darbar Sahib too were outnumbered and used intellect and strategy. Its sheer stupidity to say "why didn’t they just walk out onto the battlefield" - it totally shows your level on intellect!

As difficult as it is to separate Sant Jarnail Singh Ji with the theological aspects connected to his life (not that I'd ever dream of doing so but I'm trying to make a point), if people are finding it difficult to see any positives in Sant Ji just look at it this way. He stood up to a corrupt, racist government hell-bent on cleansing a religion and its people from its natural homeland. He tried to give Sikhs a bit of self-respect and attempted to open our eyes to how we were being abused in our own country.

In hindsight its easy to pick holes in Sant Ji's strategies - in terms of how he took on the security services, etc - but he never claimed to be a great military leader. Would any of us have fared any better if we'd had to step-up and fight?

Anyway, sorry for the wildly off-topic post.

Sure I can drive up to Leeds Ramgahria and have a look, but I could also make wild unsubstantiated claims about singh sabha gurdwara nairobi, and invite you to fly on over and have a look. No pictures? If you were so in shock you couldnt evidence it? And how do you know that the butts had anything to do with the hall? How do you know these werent flicked on by people walking past? And how does the gurdwara control this?

Speaking of kennels, you ignorant imbecile, I suggest you make your kennel welcome to all the other fools who share such a low level of intelligence as yourself.

lol Well if i cared enough i would fly over. I had no camera at the time. Did you want me to pick up the cigs and post them to you?

Well if the people walking past are competing for the olympics then it might be them...but they would have to throw the butts about 50 metres into the Gurdwara premises. It could be the walking past walk around the gurdwara and hall and smoke and the gurdwara can't control this. Or it could be the people partying at the hall who smoke, obviously it would be highly stupid to ask the gurdwara to control this because it is the gurdwara who allows them to book parties and have alcohol and tobacco in the first place.

If i cared enough i would evidence all of this but i don't. You seem to care a lot about something...not sure what it is yet but you are getting quite worked up about it. Take a chill pill.

Can mods please rename jalandhar from sher to Billi. Thanks.

To JALANDHARSHERE..... A real soorma, burrrrhhhhh! Lol.

Who said it happens actually in Gurdwarae? In party halls and outside absolutely yes. Now this is an old video before you start throwing your toys out the pram, because boy you ain't throwing NO punches yet. It is not leeds either, but you will be able to figure that much out at least:

I hardly doubt it that the people who actually take an interest in their faith would come out with random accusations to make themselves look better and as saviours of the faith while knocking other denomination tribes/casts who may be a little lost from the rest of the Panth. But your as so adamant that you want evidence like you the top man to then and go do something for the Panth MR SHERE, lol.

Many Sikhs who visit this forum actually do go up and down the UK and have seen things with their own eyes. It's not always convenient to take a picture or film, imagine if you were getting beaten up on the road somewhere and people knew you were the one and only JALANDHAR SHERE, in their laughter they may actually forget to take some evidence of this really important happening that your actually a clown disguised as a Lion who doesn't know a jab from a hook and has a 'girly' roar. :smile2:

Rest assured there is a video that exists of both leeds Gurdwarae and the beadbi that took place (the chapletown issue has now been resolved) there is also one of the the leeds ramgarhia place because there was someone making a video when some Singhs (real lions) went down. You obvioulsy have something against Jatts, maybe in your next life you will become one, lol seeing that you love them so much. :rolleyes2:

So okay, how about in turn you evidence where Sant Ji is holding an AK47 you befkoof? There is no such picture, maybe you have the image of Bin Laden superimposed on your brain, because you think Sant Ji is a terrorist like him. You know nothing about the background to operation bluestar or things affecting Sikhs and the wider community except for the propaganda that you have readily lapped up without even considering to research both sides of the story. Otherwise you would of quickly come to the conclusion that Sant Ji did what he had to do for very valid reasons. Too long to explain to a 'imbecile' like yourself.

Also you should go back to school and do some Maths too. There are 11 Guru's by the way, the last one being Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, EDDDDDDDDDDDDDDIOOOOOOOOOOOOOT BOY! Just as you know alot about Sikhs and Sikhi, Muslims would definietly praise and revere their defenders of Faith if something happend in mecca, not like wet behind the ear 'Sikhs' like you.

Once again where is Sant Ji using an AK? Have any evidence? Is no the answer once again? Then get off your high horse and on your bike. Your just as much as a hypocrite as those people who jump on the beadbi bandwagaon and then don't do nothing in their local areas to help resolve issues or come to protests.

So in conclusion the only egomaniac here is.................................. you :tongue2: JALANDHARSHERE and the way you have come on this forum and painted everybody who has posted or supported this action in some way shape or form with the same brush. This is only one indication of the stupidity the beholds you. Funnily enough, remember this: "evidence every accusation... Or in absence of that, keep your uneducated mouths shut"

Will let the other brothers and sisters who know more about Sikhi to counter your other BS. And here's something to sulk over further, seeing that you can't live it up like these stupid JATT clowns, if you do a quick whip around ramgarhia websites you will come across things like this http://www.ramgarhiakom.com/index.html Read the sections about whoever the deity with the chisel, hammer and hardhat is. It is hardly unlikely that if he is given so much praise that he has his own Arti and Ardas that within ramgharia temples/hall there is no reference to this miracle lord who would propbably knock up a party halls for jatts, ramgharia and other like minded folk who let manmat preside over Gurmat in seconds with all his skills from creating the universe, lol.

"Guru taught Sikhs to be humble always, and your post is quite full of ignorance and a little stupidity as well. " Again, please evidence which part is ignorant or stupid, not interested in your ego or opinion, but evidence to support that ridiculous argument.

Gladly ji.

No-one who has an ounce of respect for Aad Guru Granth Sahib would make such a low comment as your "BHindranwale being claimed as 11th Guru" jibe. No-one who has any respect for Bhindranwale would ever think this either. This is so stupid and even blasphemous to say, or even think, that any Sikh would ever deny Guru Ji this title, and apply it to a man, even in jest, or ridicule.

i hope that you are humble enough to accept this.

Furthermore going back to langar, you seem to base the equality of langar only as all sitting at the same level. But as I said earlier it is more than that. Humbleness/humility is the essence of eating in langar.

Guru Ji placed more emphasis on humility than all sitting at an equal level. Humility/humbleness is a recurring theme throughout Gurbani, which is why I feel that you havent read Aad Guru Sahib in enough detail.

I dont want to fight/argue with you over this, but I would really advise you always to approach contentious issues like these with an open mind, and suitable language.

I think Admin should ban this "JalandharSher". He's come here with pre-conceived ideas to promote caste-ism and defame Gursikhs. People like this have no place on SikhSangat.

Why ban him? are you scared of him? Never fear debate. He should not be banned just because he beleives in something different.

    • WJKK WJKF! How long will this forum remain online for in a readable & accessible state? It appears susceptible to shut-down. It would be a shame if all the forum's content from over the decades is lost in such an event due to servers hosting this forum shutting-down. This forum, whilst not currently active, remains an important repository of the Sikh religion online. It also is a fundamental aspect of Sikh cyber culture that existed from the early Internet period from the 2000's to 2010's before the domination by big social-media sites that consolidated the community. Thus, have the web-masters of this forum considered archiving this forum's contents before it is lost forever? I can assist you in this by saving the content to the Internet Archive on your behalf. Please let me know your thoughts about such an endeavour and I hope you may consider the possibility of archiving the forum for posterity. Future generations of Sikhs and Sikh researchers will be grateful. Kind regards, Theth Panjabi (you can find me on IG at theth.panjabi and on X/Twitter at ThethPanjabi)
    • Video on the tale, gurdwara, and manuscript: link As the story goes, during the Vadda Ghallughara genocide against the Sikhs perpetrated by the Afghan Durrani Empire on 5–6 February 1762, not only were Sikh lives lost, but our original Damdami Sahib Bir recension was also lost in that carnage. However, over the years I have spent researching our history, many claimed it was taken back to Afghanistan by Ahmad Shah Abdali's troops as loot whilst others said it was secretly hidden somewhere by the Singhs for safe-keeping. As of today, it remains untraceable and I presume it is gone for good. However, I came across a couple of articles stating that there were actually around five master-copies of the original Damdami Bir, with one of these copies being safeguarded by the jatha of Bhai Sudha Singh of the Shaheedan Misl. "It is said that the tenth Sikh master Guru Gobind Singh had got five birs written at Damdama Sahib. The bani (writings) of the ninth Sikh master Guru Tegh Bahadur were incorporated in these birs. These five birs were given to different jathas (groups) of Sikhs by Guru Gobind Singh to be safely installed. One bir was being taken by Sudha Singh who was leading a jatha of 19 Sikhs, when Abdali'[s] forces stormed Kup-Rohira and killed thousands of Sikhs. Though all 19 Sikhs were massacred by Abdali, Sudha Singh somehow brought the bir to Kuthala. Since then it has been kept at village gurdwara." (Times of India, 2012) The gurdwara today [Gurdwara Shaheed Baba Sudha Singh Ji in Kuthala] has a certain historical manuscript that they claim is one of the five master-copies of the Damdama recension. You can see close-up shots of the bir in the video posted. I will also share close-up images of its folios in the comment section. I will also provide a faithful English translation of the video's narration so non-Punjabi speakers may benefit from this post. I will leave the question on whether this bir is authentic or not to your judgement but I will provide my own analysis below.   English translation of the video's narration: The Guru-form Guru Khalsa Holy Congregation (Sadh Sangat) Ji, Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh. The Gurdwara Sahib that the congregation is currently beholding is situated in Village Kuthala, near Malerkotla, in the Sangrur district of Punjab. A very great treasure is preserved within this Gurdwara Sahib. The history of this Gurdwara Sahib is very closely related to the Vada Ghalughara (The Great Holocaust) that took place in February 1762. Baba Sudha Singh Ji, the third head of the Shaheedi Misl, arrived at this location considering it a safe place. He brought with him that sacred holy scripture (Saroop) which the Tenth Father, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, had personally dictated to Bhai Mani Singh Ji on the holy land of Damdama Sahib. Upon arriving, he personally performed the last rites (cremation) of 19 martyred Sikhs at this site. As he prepared to leave to take command of the Jatha (the Sikh contingent), the sacred holy scripture he had brought was enshrined at this very location. At that time, this place was known as Dera Jaga Sidh, but nowadays, a very beautiful building stands here in the name of Gurdwara Sahib Shaheedi. The sacred holy scriptures that were enshrined at that time are today ceremoniously displayed (Prakashwan) with great respect every Channi Dashmi (the tenth day of the bright lunar fortnight) for the congregation to behold. Devotees from within the country and abroad arrive to catch a glimpse of these sacred scriptures and receive the Guru's blessings. Every year, an annual Gurmat Samagam (religious congregation) is held for five consecutive days in memory of the martyrs of the Great Holocaust, concluding on Magh Sudi Dashmi. Furthermore, a book containing the full detailed history—titled after Shaheed Baba Sudha Singh Ji and the Hand-written Holy Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji—was released in February 2013 by the managing volunteers based on historical research. It was released by the 14th head of the Shaheedi Misl, Singh Sahib Baba Makhan Singh Ji (the current head of Baba Bakala Sahib), the Meet Jathedar Singh Ji, and Sant Gurdev Singh Ji of Anandpur Sahib (the current head). The congregation can obtain spiritual benefit by reading it. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh.   My analysis: In my humble opinion (which may be incorrect), this bir is not a master-copy of the Damdami Bir. It more closely resembles the highly-decorated birs of the Kashmiri-style that were created during the reign of the Sikh Empire in the first half of the 19th century. We can see this bir has highly illuminated and illustrated angs (folios), which took the great skill of a master artisan to make, which required resources to pay and patronize. Usually, the manuscripts during the Sikh Empire were the most elaborately decorated, as this was when the Sikhs were at a high-point, masters of the land, possessing vast amounts of resources that they could use to fund such endeavors. Therefore, whilst the story may be true and a master-copy of the Damdami Bir recension may have once been at this location, I am not convinced that this particular manuscript is it. I may be mistaken and I am open to constructive criticism. 1633648456_GurdwaraHistory.mp4
    • Sri Kesgarh Sahib (and Akaal Takht) has always allowed eating meat for those who take Amrit there, as long as it's not ritually killed like halaal.  They've followed the official Sikh Rehat Maryada since it was made in the 30s, before that they were Nihang Maryada who also allow meat. So no Panj Pyaare have ever mandated being veg at Anandpur Sahib. You can read the full Sikh Rehat Maryada in English, it includes the Panj Pyaare are meant to say on the day (page 57 I believe). My cousin took Amrit at Anandpur Sahib and my other one in Darbar Sahib 8 years later. I recently showed them both this page and they said that's exactly what the Panj said to them word for word at their Sanchaars
    • Anandpur Sahib does and always has followed the Sikh Rehat Maryada, same as Darbar Sahib in Amritsar. They allow you to eat any eggs, fish or meat as long it is not Halal meat/killed Ritualistically. They say Kes is the Kakkar, not Keski. I believe only AKJ says that and nobody else. You can read the full Sikh Rehat Maryada, page 56-7 I believe is what the Panj Pyaare are meant to say on the day. My cousin took Amrit at Anandpur Sahib and the other in Darbar Sahib 8 years later. I showed them both this page and they said that is exactly what the Panj said to them word for word at their Sanchaar
    • All Sikhs must recite Rehras Sahib daily but Chaupai Sahib and the short Anand Sahib were only added to it by SGPC and other jathebandis in the 1900s. In Guru Granth Sahib Ji's saroop, "Sodar Rehras" appears from "So dar tera keha" to "Saran pare ki rakho sarma", which is basically the first half of "Rehras" in all standard Gutka Sahibaan. So why do we recite these? Obviously doing more Baani can never be bad, but most Amritdharis recite Benti Chaupai and Anand Sahib in their morning Nitnem so why should we recite these two Baania again instead of a new one? That time could be used to read Shastar Naam Mala, Shabad Hazaare etc. And why do these two Baanis get more importance than the others? Surely if we recite Chaupai Sahib and (part of) Anand Sahib twice in a day then we should also recite Japji Sahib, Jaap Sahib and Tav Prasad Savaiya twice as well? Note: Pls correct me if I'm wrong about SGPC. My theory is that they added these into Rehras Sahib cos they removed them from the morning Baania but still had to include them in the daily Nitnem somehow, but this doesn't explain why older Samparde like Budha Dal also have this version of Rehras Sahib in their Gutkeh - someone enlighten Daas pls Bhul Chuk Maaf
