Amritvela And 5 Japji Sahibs?

I can't remember now; (so hoping someone can remind me) but I think I read somewhere once that if you require a Ardaas to be fulfilled you should, do 5 Jap Ji Sahibs during Amritvela, go to the Gurdvara, do Deg di bheta and have the Granthi Singh do Ardaas before Guru Ji...? (All of this with Prem and Sharda)

The Ardaas is almost guaranteed if this is done. I think it's a It'haa'sak solution...?

I've tried looking on the Internet - but I can't find it - does anyone know what I'm talking about please?

If so, please state the full details of this "technique."

From what little I know, Guru Ji does not need anything from you. It is in His Will if he answers the ardaas. All is pre-ordained anyway.

Vaheguru does not need anything from anyone but we can do Paath and Simran to get his Pyaar. Japji Sahib makes this clear from the following tukhs:

ਫੇਰਿ ਕਿ ਅਗੈ ਰਖੀਐ ਜਿਤੁ ਦਿਸੈ ਦਰਬਾਰੁ॥

ਕਰਮੀ ਆਵੈ ਕਪੜਾ ਨਦਰੀ ਮੋਖੁ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥

ਨਾਨਕ ਏਵੈ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਸਭੁ ਆਪੇ ਸਚਿਆਰੁ ॥੪॥

I know its all pyar and sharda what matters but for the OP i think you try that and i think it should be ok. dpepends upon how much tough is the task. But if you do it right , it should work

I think this is from suraj prakash granth by Bh Santokh Singh. As I remember this was mentioned in the katha (I think it is mahatam, of Japji sahib) by G. Thakur Singh patiala.

Vaheguru does not have biase pyaar. All are pyara to Vaheguru truly. He does not favour any over another, His love is complete and flows through all His creation equally.

I believe it was Bhai Gurdas ji who said this that if a sikh requires something or is in some sort of a problem then they should do 5 japji sahibs at amritvela.

Thank you all for your valuable replies. I believe 'Scooter' and 'Sikh_Soldier' - one/both of you may be right - I just wanted some form of written/audio confirmation and the details to this.

Can either of you find the sources. I know Guroo Kirpa it definitately exists - but I just cannot find it.

As for the Gurmukhs that are stating that Guroo Saab doesn't need anything from us etc - I agree with your 100% - Vaheguroo bless you - I just wanted to the information - thank you.

1. I never said not to read bani. You can do 100 Japji sahibs a day if you like, It is only going to benefit you. Bani does not bring you bad. That is not what I said.

2. Being ritualistic and doing things as a complete duty also is not truly a good thing. As This becomes like the thinkning of doing x number of paaths, brings x number of things. Truly, there should be no ardas done for worldy things. To be honest, every single being asks for worldy things. This is why all people are suffering. Whatever we ask for we shall get. Even if it does not come straight away, we may even have to wait till the next janam(life) to recieve what we asked for. But this is the way of the world and it is each of these ardases that we do that end up causing us more dukh. in long term, we build up a large debt and suffer for this. Truly, it is very hard not to ask for the support of Guru ji for worldly things. However, this is a habit for humans. The greatest ardas would be to ask for the acceptance of guru jis paanaa (will) and to accept the will of waheguru. Just as Guru Arjan Dev ji did when he was being martryd. So even if God gives what we dont want, we would still accept it as great, this way we will stop suffering from maya.

3. Also from what you say, you must be implying that Guru Ji relies on the happiness of His Sikhs to make Him happy? If so, then that does not seem right. Why would Guru Ji allow Himslef to get sad like that? Is Guru not pooran? If He is not completly happy, then what hope is there for any of us? I personally believe, that we need from Guru Ji, He does not need anything of us. He does not require us to do anything to keep Him happy. His happiness is not reliant on our actions.
