Considering India refuses him a visa, pretty sure he hasn't. You have to be doing something good if those scumbags deny you a visa. Theres another young Sikh too, Navdeep Singht Bains, I believe he is a good one too. The opposition tried attacking him in Parliment because his father in law may have had some links with the Air India fiasco.

Absolutely, he must be ruffling some feathers if the Indians are being petty with visas. Probably because he's speaking against Indian abuses? That's brilliant he's using his position to highlight Sikh issues. Plus, he's a good role model for any young Sikhs who assume Sikhi saroop is a hindrance to getting ahead in life.

I'm no Canadian, but can one of you transatlantic brothers or sisters explain to me why the Sikhs in your country have developed a reputation as criminals and extremists in the minds of their non-Sikh countrymen, whereas Sikhs in nations such as my own are very highly regarded?

Yeah that is precisely why lol. He is probably one of the best young Canadian role models, I'd say. In the past few years he's gotten himself quite a following.

Throughout history groups of people have gone to other lands and taken over, by whatever means possible, its human nature. Not only were the Europeans more devious than the Natives, but also superior military wise. Natives lost, too bad for them. Its not stealing, its conquering. Do we say Maharaja Ranjit Singh stole the land in Pakistan, Afghanistan and as far as Tibet he conquered?

A lot of Sikhs have a rep for extremists due to the careless allegations of a man called Ujjal dosanjh, he slandered his own community and became the go to man for the media regarding anything related to Khalistan. Also Canadian Sikhs and BC Sikhs in particular were doing the most seva for the cause outside India from protests to the India consulate building in Vancouver which resulted in a mini riot and the burning of the Indian flag.

As for the gang problem this is almost exclusively an issue in the bc area. The reason for this is because BC was and still is the first go to province for many punjabis immigrating in Canada and since the mass immigration since the 80s the population exploded however despite what many ppl like to think the white Canadians weren't very welcoming in those days. I have family friends in BC and they would tell me how drunk white guys would drag apne out their cars and beat them and also attack babey at parks.

This type of environment forced Sikhs to stay united the fall out to drugs can be attributed a lot to Bindy Johal. Bindy wasn't the first Punjabi dealer there but he was the first to start his own thing he didn't take orders from any of the white gangs he called his own shots. A lot of kids look up bindy and the others after him who also mostly happen to be cousins and end up wanting to get the fast money and what not mix this in with the macho Punjabi culture, segregated demographics your end result is the problem facing Surrey
