Why do Sikhs In India dont really think marrying their daughters to Hindu men Is a problem?

There has been a steady rise of cases where girls from Sikh families are marrying into Hindu families. Historically, culturally and traditionally this has been going on for decades however it wasn't as acceptable and the norm as it has become now

Back in the days when Sikhs married with Hindu's it was with the understanding that the Hindu person would convert to Sikhism or at least brought up any kids they had as Sikhs but now it seems the opposite, since 1940s Sikhs have not be bothered about their demographics with disastrous consequences (not being forming khalistan/sikhistan during independence talks being one of them). We often see Sikhs on this forum complain of the muslim demographic take over by targeting Sikh girls and other non-muslim females for creating a high muslim population. However if we have cases where Sikh females are married of and converted to Hinduism then they also don't create Sikh kids either they tend to do what their Hindu husband and in-laws family wants have Hindu kids with Hindu names and they worship idols in mandir, this isn't a problem on a individual case basis but it is a problem when we look at the larger picture and the decline of Sikh population in India as the last census showed.

Hindus are 1 billion strong, Sikhs barely 20 million in India.... You know there is something very wrong going when our so called Sikh leadership in india is not concerned and on their watch our population is not rising year on year by either conversions or birth rate.

Indian Sikhs aren't very Sikh if you haven't noticed; you could see Amritdharis still doing idol worship and going to Mandir.

Yes its madness, I personally hold the SGPC at fault for this. You can see a direct collaration between when current rehit maryada was drawn up in 1940s/50s to the huge number of sehajdhari Sikh families being pushed into the hindu punjabi corner and eventual troubles that resulted with Sikhs from 1940s onwards.

Even the inciters and encouragers of violence and murders of Sikhs in anti-sikh genocide of 1984 were born of or married to sikh females.

Sajjan kumar = married to a Sikh female

Jadgdish tytler = Born to a Sikh mother

Amitab bachan = Born to a Sikh mother

Manika (Anand) Gandhi =  Sikh female who became indira gandhi's daughter in law was married Indira's son Sanjay Gandhi.

Interesting point from an outsider about us "imploding." I wonder what indicators he's observed that allowed him to reach that conclusion?

hindu infiltration into every aspect of gurdwara management , I remember watching an Italian chef visiting Harmandir sahib who showed him round ? a hindu family and they were quite happy to claim everything as part of their dharam landscape , then when he wanted to donate atta/rice to the langar , who is sitting alongside the sikh recepit writer but a Hindu pandit like he is in charge . My husband just took one look and then said <banned word filter activated> ? what's he doing there  (no he wasn't an udasi before someone says it ) .

The police is controlled by hindu goon squad ... our strong gursikhs are stuck in the jail system under the mountain of false cases. Why is it the legal burden of proof is not there prior to arrests like the legal system they inherited??

Our state govt is controlled by goons and stifled by central laws and controls . there is zero fight for Punjab's rights even on matters that are illegal in international law.

Main way is our kids are not aware of sikhi , they know more about bollywood storyline and gossip  and have had they heads with inferiority complex about their roots in language and faith. They would rather blend in like lame ducks  by shaving, cutting their hair and being 'okay yaar' coolio dudes..rather than defending females' honours they are now molesting , raping the girls they are supposed to think of as sisters. The 'sisters' think they are clever and modern if they deny Waheguru and get lush every weekend ...fitte muh. Ishq de chakkar with Hindus because they don't want to be like their folks ...it's braindead in the extreme.

ANyone in the forces is now on notice to comply with the 'jai mata di' crowd or get sanctioned and probably kicked out.

People need to give their business only to sikhs to bolster and keep the money in the local economy , if farmers are not getting good prices for their crops they need to contact a new organisation which has been started by sikh guys to locate foreign buyers direct for the crops . Education and parchaar need to be full on especially in the youth scene. Drug rehab and health clinics too

I wonder exactly why Sikhs think Hindus are their allies? There isn't any real history of this ever since the coming of Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji to today? (Sindhis don't count to anyone claiming that).

Most Hindus are pretty pro-sikh that's until Sikhs want their own sovereignty and a say on important political matters and thats when they turn against Sikhs or don't have much respect for us. As long as our people are pro-india and say "hindustan zindabad" or "bharat mata ke jai" or "jai hind" they are happy with us as soon as we say "khalistan zindabad" for our own Sikh national interests they turn hostile.

Same like pakistani muslims as long as you are pro-pakistan and praise pakistan they love Sikhs but as soon as you say you want Sikh rule over pakistan or lahore to be capital of Khalistan the pak muslims go quite or turn hostile.

Most punjabi/haryana/himachel basically the northern Indian subcontinent hindus have some sort of Sikh ancestry or  family ties and lineage as back in the days Sikhs came into being from majority hindu converts. Also during the islamic invasions and rulers the northern subcon hindu's were instrumental in keeping Sikhi alive and helping shelter them during extreme persecutions because it was a mutually beneficial relationship as Sikh warrior would go into banditry ambush raids and pitched violent bloody battles with jihadi muslim armies and take back the war booty stolen from hindu kingdoms.

The martha Hindu empire joined forces with Sikh clans of punjab in various military campaigns against the muslim invaders until the martha's started to have designs on punjab and wanted to occupy it for their own empire and thats where there was clashes. So for example in the final battle of panipat the Sikhs stayed out rather than help their once hindu allies and because of that the hindu martha armies suffered a heavy defeat and a genocide after under the hands of the afghan muslims.

So Sikhs and Hindus have alot of shared history.

    • lol dal panth Panj told me explicitly not to associate with Vadhbhag Singh Sodhi followers!
    • We have lamp (or Jyot) the pure unscented candle for a reason. Traditionally, Patis used candle light (jyot), so they could read SGGS in darkness. Light, elec didn't exist. Dhoop is used to attract the "Good spirits" but also keep freshness where Maharaj will be.  Interestingly and coincidentally I heard Sakhi a few dsys ago. During Dasa Pitha's time these souls were roaming the Earth and even Sangat noticed. Maharaj asked them "y u here?" They replied during recitation of SGGS and making Degh they didn't bother lighting candle. THAT WAS THEE ONLY REASON NO GATI WAS GIVEN TO THEM!!!  AUTHENTICITY NOT CHECKED I heard once on YT like 2 days ago.  If u apply dhoop in one room of your house twice a week u will notice a difference esp in the smell and freshness of that room.
    • Sangat ji, With the hot weather as per Guru's Hukm, how can we look after our kes?  First of all the beard! Working in Construction, factory and any other heated environment I UNDERSTAND! At my workplace it's over 32 degree celcius and sometimes we have to lift 20kg ALL! DAY! My tips, regularly shampoo the beard during ishnan. APPLY OIL! The technique of applying oil is by rubbing it thoroughly in the roots. Pay attention to the noise esp on the chin. You will hear this "crosh crosh" noise. Keep rubbing oil until u can't hear it no more! This means the oil has blended in properly.  Second tip on beard, keep an extra kanga in your pocket. Every two, three hours give your beard a proper comb down to get rid of any sweat or stickiness. SECOND BENEFIT! Do this all 12 months every single day your beard will look like it's been professionally groomed. TRY IT! People will ask you "What gel u use? How can yer beard be naturally like that?" You can say all I use is coconut oil or whaeva oil but just comb the beard every 2-3 hours for a minute.  As for the kes, morning time get rid of all the gronjra (or knots - forgotten English word), in the morning. However, during evening comb down make sure you get rid of small remaining gronjra and comb yer hair nice and straight. You will feel soooo so relaxed. Yes our hair will go unnoticed due to Dastar, but our hair demands time and self grooming! So proper combing down, spending a good 15-20 mins most evenings is an absolute MUST!  Most evenings I let my hair down and cover hair with my parna for 2-3 hours so it gets to relax from the tying up.  FINAL TIP! We are Sikhs so we keep fighting and remember this! The tradition of Dastar and uncut hair started in India, where the weather is twice as hot. Everytime we bring this thought in the mind, Guru ji will bless us and make us feel cooled down by a notch.  Fateh.
    • Been so much nindya and attacking Shastarvidiya since the 2000s, however if we look at gatka now it's still mostly as poor and poorly taught as it was back then, still morris dancing moves and still behzti moves in BBC shows about sikhi and vaisakhi. If people were going to attack shastarvidiya, wouldn't have made sense to improve gatka instead and make it more effective? Additionally, the Nihang Singh presence has improved greatly now, and the cracks within the the SGPC and affiliated jatha jathebandis are showing more greatly as panth becomes more knowledgable with dasam bani and itihas day-by-day, so much gyaan which was lost within panjabi sikhs during colonial times. In the 2000s, the groups were able to talk down this bani and  gyaan by associating it with  RSS and hindus, brahminwaad etc. Not working so well now is it? However with gyaan it would be also good for us to try and preserve our martial arts and keertan vidiya as well! More and more crazy keertan videos are coming out from jatha members that are being made fun of and making sangat annoyed and upset, on tiktok and instagram reels.

Being from Punjab, almost every Sardaarji i know (amritdhari or not) sleeps/showers with their hair uncovered. I don't think Guru Sahib asked us to wear Dastar to sleep and I don't think it is in SRM.   The idea of "keski being worn to sleep" is cos in Bollywood films (Bachna Ae Haseeno) Sikh characters usually tie a gol parna when sleeping since the actor's usually Hindu. So they gotta cover his head somehow or he'd have cut hair. Same reason Diljit wore a pagg to bed in the El Sueno vid. Only time they didn't do that was in Gadar with Sunny Deol which just looked odd tbh   What in the world? What sikh or even a decent human would base their knowledge of their culture or religion on a movie industry, that too Bollywood?  Believe me, no sikh ever said, I must cover my head becasue an actor did so in a movie. I've been doing it all wrong, I must start covering mh head because the sikh in that movie did.  Just because every panjabi and sardaar you know, does something, also doesn't make it right..  Follow the guru. And if you have a medical condition, then exemptions can be made.  Just admit it, because of my medical condition, I am not able to follow this rehit. Why are you getting everyone else to drop to your level?
